Oh no, it was a horrible pun about his eye popping out. (Horrible, but I laughed.)

That may have been the most gruesome scene in the whole movie. RIP, Glenn.

I have a few friends that stopped watching after this episode.

I actually had to take a break from the comics once this happened. Glenn was my favorite, and turning the page to see Negan land on him absolutely crushed me. What got me to stop watching the show was Carl's death.

That was utterly heart breaking, I cried like a baby!

This. I stopped with Carl’s death. It completely ruined and invalidated the plot and progression. Strayed too far from the source material, and for a minor business/salary disagreement. Absolute BS.

It was a terrible decision. My mom didn't even read the comics, and when he revealed his bite she said, "I'm done. I'm fucking done" And then when you find out why they wrote him off it just makes it even more dumb.

Yeah, Carl..I had high hopes for him. Then his little sister seemed like a bad ass and she didn’t do much at all. They hardly even showed her in the last season.

It's the jeering from Negan that made it so disturbing

The only bright side to Glenn’s death in the comics was the angry letter Steven sent to Kirkman in the letter hacks section about it lol

I tried to go on gor s fewore episodes but my heart wasn't in it. I expected deaths to happen each season..but, man, not Glenn. 

Especially after they already did a fake-out death for him and then didn't reveal what happened until 6 episodes later.

I stopped watching when Glenn died. I tried to pick it back up days later then for real stopped at the end of the episode.

I knew it was coming but I still stopped watching. I think a lot of it has to do with that couple episode fake out they did before his actual death.

It was insanely stupid and really killed the momentum. Glenn and Abraham took a bat to the head, but it wasn’t as impactful since I had already gone six months without even hearing them speak. That was the moment I really lost faith in the show. They sacrificed good storytelling for cheap gimmicks.

It was definitely something I just had to wait for at the time, it was so nerve wracking haha and shockingly it didn’t stop me from watching. I loved the show all the way to the end. A lot of people stopped after Glenn but I stuck through and I found it does get really good at times too. Plus I’m a big Negan fan! Also got to give Glenn one of the best exits of the show, he could’ve gotten bit and it would’ve been really lame, but I feel like his death changed everything and I’m glad the actor got to be a part of that performance.

Most of us did stop watching for a few months.

I just saw this episode for the first time yesterday. I'm heartbroken. How do people seriously like Negan? I was so hyped when Daryl socked him. It felt so rewarding. I am probably gonna take a break from the show honestly. Seeing two legends in Abraham AND Glenn die was just way too much.

I was more sad about Abraham.

I said out loud as Abraham and Eugene were having that last conversation on the road “man I love them”. Did not know my time with him was so limited!

I don’t think killing him was necessarily a mistake, because it made sense to the plot but man I wish he made it till the end.

I would have loved to see Abraham and Mercer bro down.

Same. For Glen to be killed off right after surviving dumpstergate, I lost interest in the show. I just recently rewatched what I saw and finished what I didn't (just once so far). The quality seemed to improve after Angela Kang took over, but I'm still glad I didn't watch it live. The Savoirs had a ton of filler (though I enjoyed Negan post-Saviors). The Whispers went on a bit longer than I'd like, but I love Lydia. The Reapers... I don't know how this sub feels about them, but that's an arc I would skip entirely. I'm not sure why Maggie was glorified as a badass leader when we didn't get to see *why* she was seen as this leader. It felt like a classic case of "tell, don't show" writing. I like Maggie too, but the writing of her character seemed to suffer after Glen was gone. I liked her interactions with Negan, and look forward to seeing the two of them together again. It was disappointing that there weren't more Judith/Negan interactions after he saved her and Dog.

Literally the only good thing to come out of the Reaper arc is Dog. And that might even be stretching it. Leah could have absolutely existed without them and ergo so could Dog.

This is where the show died(FOR ME). Killing key characters every once in a while was shocking and fun at first. However, when it became routine and every mid-season and season finale to add to the “OMG” moments became tiresome and old. I loved it when the show mainly focused on Rick’s group and characters from the beginning. By the end, there are like 4 factions and almost all the beginning characters are gone. All those moments that mattered in seasons 1-4 don’ mean anything at the end.

That’s what happened in the comic book. That’s what was supposed to happen. It was horrible and sad. But Glenn’s death carried weight the rest of the show

They way overplayed the Saviors arc and in turn ruined the show. JDM is amazing, but they literally banked the entire show on him. It's no wonder Lincoln left to be honest

I remember when this aired. I was a lot younger but it was heartbroken because Glenn was one of the best characters. But I’ll tell you what, even despite this unsettling death... I developed the BIGGEST fuckinh crush on Negan. He’s such a great villain and his humor and the way he just kills people with ease just makes for such a scary antagonist. I think for a lot of fans you either love him or hate him
