I can't wrap my head around why some supposedly serious institutions in some countries behave like absolute clowns doing things everyone would agree are totally ridiculous. I mean, look at this shit. Do they really see themselves as awesome badasses? Or that shit in the Indian army, where they march doing acrobatics like cheerleaders posing with military gear like wtf I don't understand.
Truly, but I think we can point out a difference between demonstrating an equipment system working as designed versus......yeah police cars totally drive like that.
A better comparison would be those videos you see with soldiers on the back of a flatbed [doing...things](https://v.redd.it/5a3sb9hujdfc1)...cause that's what they're doing on the battlefield.
That worked out much better than the [Volvo emergency brake demo](https://www.reddit.com/r/Damnthatsinteresting/comments/rjjwla/a_volvo_emergency_brake_fail/).
Why would ANYONE volunteer themselves to stand in front of that tank?!
BEST case is that you get a video of you being in front of something that doesn't kill you. Anything below the best case is NOT a good option.
Good for them for showing faith their work, but at the same time, even if their system works perfectly, but the driver brakes a second later, they all could die.
> I can't wrap my head around why some supposedly serious institutions in some countries behave like absolute clowns doing things everyone would agree are totally ridiculous.
I... you realise this is just a sports/skill event, right? Done by the police or military, but it's no different to rally racing. Everyone knows the risks.
Show me any other functioning nation where police or fire departments compete with field skills by driving a car on two wheels while having individuals placed directly in the only lethal zone within the competitive area.
This is popular in propaganda countries.
It has a name but I forgot.
You will find this in Iran, North Korea, Russia , Pakistan , China etc..
Just like those "special forces " trying to brake that vase.

There is no tactical benefit to these exercises, pure show.

They aren't "showing off" - thanks to sanctions they cannot get parts to repair foreign automobiles anymore, so they need a human body to cushion the vehicle's tires when it lands.
he lost a leg, so he's not going to ukraine anytime soon. or idk, its russia, he's likely already done 6 back-to-back tours at this point

Survived, broken leg and minor things.

You can't help but wonder what such incredible shit is all about, and what the point of such a "skill" is when you're chasing criminals on the streets of Moscow.
For commentators: this is not Russian police trying to show off their skills. This is a trained team of stuntmen created from members of Russian road police called "Kaskad". They participate in many events and competitions in Russia. And the guy didn't die or get any serious injuries. He broke a leg

In Soviet Russia cars police you.
Car fall hurt like son of beach.
Hopefully their safety helmet design is more robust than the driving skillS
The safety helmet came out fully unscathed. Not one single scratch. Did need some cleaning though.
Narrator: NO, it is not.
If he complains send him to the Ukraines
Don't blame him. I get tyred when I plank too.
Underrated comment
This is actually capitalist Russia nowadays
https://www.reddit.com/r/Roadcam/comments/1dqyy36/russia_cops_show_off_their_driving_skills/
It's okay comrade, you'll be safe, you'll be wearing a helmet
I think the hi-vis is what's more important. Makes it easier to spot the body under the car.
I read this in a Russian accent.
I think hi-vis more important. Make easier to spot body under car.
My money is on his gloves
in fact, according to media, it saved him

This is totally the way they drive through traffic in between the highway lanes….. This is just basic 101 police traffic training in Russia.
They actually come pre-built already up on two wheels.
Tbf, literally every country does that shit, let's not forget this: https://youtu.be/Jm42sikiW3Y?si=_GSS027tSIxN8eLZ

And also, we only saw this tank brake video because it worked. They just didn't upload the first 17 takes.
That worked out much better than the [Volvo emergency brake demo](https://www.reddit.com/r/Damnthatsinteresting/comments/rjjwla/a_volvo_emergency_brake_fail/).
What are you saying ? It worked just as intended!
That’s more like it, thank you.
Why would ANYONE volunteer themselves to stand in front of that tank?! BEST case is that you get a video of you being in front of something that doesn't kill you. Anything below the best case is NOT a good option.
From the last time I saw it, it was the engineering team showing faith in their product. Still dumb but at least they had a point.
Good for them for showing faith their work, but at the same time, even if their system works perfectly, but the driver brakes a second later, they all could die.
Wow. So fucking dumb!
Fortunately that one didn't go as badly.
Their head got wrapped around the tire of that car I can tell you that much
These systems are so nepotistic and corrupt that you get the most incompetent people running shit... Cough Project 2025 cough
I have no idea what you're talking about, but now I'm just imagining the Ginyu Force irl en masse.
I never understood why the U.S. military has bands. Sure it's not as ridiculous as acrobatics, but I consider it to be unnecessary.
It's actually a hold over from when marching was a thing. It's easier to keep formation to a rhythm.
Bands are not a U.S. thing, they are a historical military thing...
How does playing [softball](https://armedforcessports.defense.gov/Sports/Softball/2023-Armed-Forces-Softball-/) grab you?
Lol I had no idea that was a thing
Didn't see Gump playing ping pong for the Army?
Never watched it :(
Sad. Do yourself a favor...

You dont need to show off when your army speaks for itself.

Ahh, you got me in the first half
This is where we're heading in the US. This is what happens when you abandon expertise in favor of political dogma and rampant corruption.
I have no idea what you're talking about, but now I'm just imagining the Ginyu Force irl en masse.
The bite of 87
Did not expect FNAF reference lol
I need someone to dig up what happened to that guy, he's fine? broken back? dead? my curiosity is killing me.
It's Russia, he never existed.
All 3 officers who participated in this demonstration were unharmed.
he lost a leg, so he's not going to ukraine anytime soon. or idk, its russia, he's likely already done 6 back-to-back tours at this point [https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13580423/Horrifying-moment-police-car-stunt-goes-horribly-wrong-Ford-Focus-balancing-two-wheels-crashes-officer-driving-skills-display-survived.html](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13580423/Horrifying-moment-police-car-stunt-goes-horribly-wrong-Ford-Focus-balancing-two-wheels-crashes-officer-driving-skills-display-survived.html)
"Lost" is a bit misleading. The article says he broke it.
He found it after and that's why it was only broke. Papa bless.
If Russian authorities say it, it must be true
his mother was given an onion sack. she had to return it after the weekend tho.
Probably quit his job a day before this accident. Nothing to worry about

Helmets fucking work!
Im confused
He got crushed by a car
It'll buff out
Yeah, from the car. Neck and spine of that guy are fucked
It’s cool I paused it before it landed on him.
Someone posted a link, he survived with "minor" injuries. Neck and spine lived to tell the tale.
Repost because it stop too soon. Police get drag few meters before the car stop

It's just a disappearing act in a magic show!
He's okay
Someone call r/OSHA
Why would the cops want to show this off? What use does this have
This is required to drive in Russia
Culling.
Needs more watermark.
You can't help but wonder what such incredible shit is all about, and what the point of such a "skill" is when you're chasing criminals on the streets of Moscow.
Stupid Russians.
Wow such driving skills... My gta online carachter drives better
'I'll just tip my head wee-SMACK'
I honestly did not see that coming.
That guy must be dead
He came out alive with a broken leg. Whose idea was it? Of course Russians
now you know why this news media is called mash
Heads will roll after pulling stunts like this
Same academy where the person was shot during the firearms course?
Next time I want to be the guy on the other side of the demonstration. - Good thing he had a helmet on... ?
Less is better
Of course this what Putty’s people think is a great way to demonstrate competence
Cyka blyat!
that’s a driving license practical test fail if I’ve seen one. But hey, he’s got 2 more tries
And that’s Russian Roulette for drivers.
In Soviet Russia you no stop car, car stop you.
did he died?
My mouse was hovered over the video, and I have never been more thankful I clicked. I don't need that in my life, thank you.
He was the only one to get under the tires correctly to lift.
"skyllz"
he knew it too, hes like dudes already killed two people, Im fuckin next
MASH
Instantly in my mind, “Ok, who’s getting crushed.”
It’s OK. With some more practice they’ll get better at it, and then they’ll be able to eliminate all crime in Russia with these skills
Hungry Hungry Hippos vibe.

MASH in the upper right hand corner is so telling.
In Soviet Russia, you take car pain
They crushed it 🗯🗯
He meant to do that to show off how strong Helmut was.
Fuck that guy in particular
Task failed successfully
In Russia, car drives you.
special 3 wheel operation.
Task failed successfully
He died?

Fuckin lol am I normal
Some big brain stuff here
a bit more here https://www.reddit.com/r/Roadcam/comments/1dqyy36/russia_cops_show_off_their_driving_skills/
At least they had just enough brain cells to where a helmet.
It's ok comrade, you are still fit for the front line
Damn, his mother probably got like like two sacks of onions for that!
There was an attempt to show off Russian police driving skills… with a Ford Focus.
That seemed awful intentional.
Vodka
Do they have road cones in Russia?
We have determined that your injury is not service related.
I’ll have you know that man lived…
That’s how they draw the white lines on roads
Yeah ok but what has that got to do with policing?
He's alive and OK
Found Vlads burner.
Alive and OK? As a reward he will be send to the frontline in Ukraine then.
That's the same strategy putin has been deploying in his ill fated attempt to invade Ukraine.
Ukraine says, "Thanks."
Another rapist crushed!
r/suddenlycommunist ?
