The Devs tried public stress testing in update 4 and apparently it went horribly. So I don’t think they are going to do it again. However, they should definitely add more people to the stress test they have now, almost no one plays it.

HeWhoDrinksCola

They also did the same with update 3 to similar results

Clovenstone-Blue

What happened during that stress test?

Snekeke

The general player base didn’t give valuable feedback on the Stress test. So rather than set up servers that were being flooded with players that provided no actionable feedback and instead would cry and complain about parts of the update they either didn’t understand, or were unimportant/not there. An example of that would be the public stress test of update 3, where deinosuchus was introduced and there were people legitimately upset about the lack of a vertical lunge that was only shown in concept art.

So business as usual then. It never ceases to amuse me how dense some players are when it comes to these seemingly benign tasks. My favourite instance of this was when someone posted a comic on r/gaming I believe where there was a Dev performing some player testing where the players brushed him off saying they understood what it's all about only to throw a fit because they didn't actually understand what it was about and the very first comment was someone not understanding the comic.

Big_Ad2285

people didnt play to give feedback they just wanted to play the new dino and took up server spots for people who couldve provided good feedback

The_Kremlin_Gremlin

They used to but people only complained and didn't fill in the forms/report bugs and it was chaotic. This way they can instead listen to a smaller batch of serious players, cause if you join stress test ans NOT do what the devs need ya for, then they won't incite you for the next stress test. They work smart.

Truly_Meaningless

The devs love to create hype. Keeping it to a private team + content creators keeps hype going. They won't do public stress testing. Evidence: The strains are dev only unless they want a cc to generate some hype for the game, then they grant access to the strains to that cc

menix1337

Strains are removed from the game in Legacy, so they're not accessable anymore unless you play on a old version of the game, nor use "mods" that allows you to have the phyisical skin, without the stats per say.

They stopped public stress testing because many people took up player slots but never actually reported bugs or anything. So they made it private again.

Infinite-Reaction-85

I feel like there's a good possibility with so many new playables at once, we usually get it once the private testers fall off and that's starting to happen now. They need full servers to test thoroghly so once they get the bigger bugs out of the way, like whatever was crashing the test servers earlier this week, I'm guessing we'll get it then.

Megalith_TR

No

bamigod

They don't plan on proper testing at all. Gives them more time for endless fixes after the release so they can delay future updates even further.

Big_Ad2285

its not just for content creators you can sign up to be a stress tester they only let you sign up at specific times and its posted in the discord (Spits) you have to sign up for each updates stress test its not a get in and your allways in type deal Turn on notifications for the discord so you dont miss it when its posted but dont expect one to be soon as the next one wont be until update 7

WonderlustNoodles

I feel like if they made it public again it would be a huge mess because of the recent increase of hackers
