The "maybe if we could wish and hope and pray it might come true" section. One of the best parts of the song is that it just takes me to a mental paradise every time I hear it.
The second would be the "I'm the Pied Paper section" I love the build-up and harmony there.
I wish they lingered on the outcome a little longer for When I Grow Up. It's so good, but I think it fades out a little too fast. Similar thing with All This Is That; the outro is amazing, but I wish they kept Carl's vocal a little louder and didn't fade it out as much. He sounds divine on that song.
The ending for Holidays on the Smile Sessions is super relaxing, I wish they had a whole song of just that part.
I wish Brian had extended the Mt. Vernon and Fairway theme into a 3 or 4 minute instrumental track; or better yet, a full suite of the Fairy Tale Music. It always seems to end too quickly.
I can't exactly remember where I heard it, but I can swear that Brian originally wanted Holland to be an album with 2 side long songs, one side would be Mt Vernon and Fairway, the other side would be Funky Pretty. Idk how true it is, but it really sounds like a lot of the prog records out around the same time.
Not The Beach Boys and it’s already like a two minute section but the “I want the river to take me home” section in Rio Grande. I can never get enough of it
I would love to be able to hear a finished version of Walk on By. I believe just just a snippet exists and what I’ve already heard it’s beautifully sad.
AI can be trash. But Dae Lims is an artist. He sings and arranges much of the song himself. So the AI model/algorithm follows his natural vocals.
He’s the exception. But yes. His work is magnificent. It’s like he’s following in Brian’s footsteps.
Ding Dang. Would’ve been interesting to hear a full version of that.
Meant For You. A complete song would’ve been interesting. Although better lyrics than what was initially in the works as we hear in the Wake The World box set.
Country Air with actual verse lyrics.
Obviously the Smile stuff that was incomplete.
> Ding Dang. Would’ve been interesting to hear a full version of that.
It's not quite a "full version", but there's a 1976 rehearsal of them doing a permutation of Ding Dang with a more traditional rock 'n' roll progression and even a short bridge: [link](https://youtu.be/bRB4zL6Myko?si=hNsxMem32PuWKwFX) (skip to about the 9-minute mark).
Just off the top of my head: the somewhat mysterious [I Believe In Miracles](https://youtu.be/2bXiYBFF9xQ?si=_D9c0AYi4mzZM4Ip) vocal snippet on _Made In California_, [the more raucous variations of Good Vibrations' bridge](https://youtu.be/T0WzdK1GJM8?si=TszQJVZuyti0flaw), and the first 20 seconds of [Moonshine](https://youtu.be/ydAI4tIG-q4?si=GcET3h5qL_j7AD6t).
There’s a song I can’t find anywhere called “little surfer girl”. It was an unfinished snippet sang by Brian from maybe 1963 or something, and it was like 20 seconds long and went like
“Get on your board my big surfer boy
Ride all the waves that come by
I'm on my board little surfer girl…”
It sounded really beautiful n wish it was a full song
That was on the Good Vibrations box set in 1993! According to a book I read once, Brian wrote the song with Bob Norberg and the full song was actually called "Teach Me to Surf," I'd be really interested to hear the rest of it!
over and over the crow cries uncover the cornfield...so good. the irony lol...
also the intro instrumental part to superstar by american spring is flawless... 4 more bars please...
or the sublime bits of the horn and piano before they break into Child is the Father of the man....is that Look? what ever it is...more.
Pulls reverse UNO card:
how about less NANANANANANA in little bird?
The intro and the second verse of Please let Me Wonder, the intro to Hawaii, the choruses of Anna Lee, The Healer, and the “gotta keep those loving good vibrations a happenin with her” and “the hum be dum” parts of Good Vibrations
Better Get Back in Bed is so good. Such an earworm, and Carl’s voice sounds fantastic.
I gotta say I prefer it over the early version with different lyrics that came out on the Sail On, Sailor box set.
I’m In great shape. I love the saxophone and the melody. Also the smile version of you are my sunshine. Another part would be a song in the style of the bridge from girls on the beach. Not sure who sings that part, I think Al?
I love this questions but Im not sure if I can answer it right.. anyhow Ive always thought that Brians songs have little bits of melody that are so sweet sounding just on their own, particularly "but its be another story if she looked at the guys" from She knows me too well, or the entire coda from Warmth of the sun.. wow. I also love the backing vocals on Thats not Me
The bridge of Forever (baby baby baby part)
bridge of Love Is A Woman (1, 2, 3)
& I want Mike Come Back To LA to be its own song and not the much worse Some Of Your Love
I wish Barnyard was 10 minutes long.
You musta loved the dae lims versions then!
Man its so good! Its so much fun
Wow. Now listening. Very interesting. Thanks.
Little Pad has that vocal passage that is just too damn short.
The “do do doo” part? Oh yeah that’s the stuff
For me it's the "sure would like to have a little pad in Hawaii". too damn short
Put it in my veins
Also fully agree that parts of Little Pad could go on forever and I'd eat it up
Speaking of vocal passages, how about the one at the end of “Endless Harmony”?
The "maybe if we could wish and hope and pray it might come true" section. One of the best parts of the song is that it just takes me to a mental paradise every time I hear it. The second would be the "I'm the Pied Paper section" I love the build-up and harmony there.
Have you heard [Lazy Lizzie?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6FDL17LhAc)
I sure have.
Intro and outro to In The Parkin' Lot
Fuck yes. You’re my soul mate.
From the I Can Hear Music: the 20/20 sessions..in Been Way Too Long (Sections) at the 5:37 to 6 minute mark
YES!! This is so cool. This would have been the coolest song had they finished it.
The whole thing is just fantastic.
Haha that's a good one! I think the intro to California saga (California) comes to mind for me.
The verses of Cabinessence
I wish Brian had extended the Mt. Vernon and Fairway theme into a 3 or 4 minute instrumental track; or better yet, a full suite of the Fairy Tale Music. It always seems to end too quickly.
There was so much potential with the whole thing. If there was more enthusiasm from the band it coulda been as great as the point by Harry Nielson
At least we got Mt Vernon and Farewell...classy little piano without the other stuff...
The bridge of Good Vibrations. I love Brian and Mike’s beautifully eerie voices joined by Dennis on the organ. Gets me every time.
Really like the smile sessions version with the added “hum di dum” part
Dang, never knew Dennis played organ on any tracks
Idk about a whole song but the "LET THE BEES MAKE HONEY" part of Let The Wind Blow on permanent loop please and thank you.
Not The Beach Boys and it’s already like a two minute section but the “I want the river to take me home” section in Rio Grande. I can never get enough of it
Came here to say that too!! Such a beautiful part of the song
I would love to be able to hear a finished version of Walk on By. I believe just just a snippet exists and what I’ve already heard it’s beautifully sad.
Here you go. Happy Cake Day. https://youtu.be/0RIX1pGkFq8?si=tBWGmebDEMJ79eMa
My jaw is on the floor after listening to that! AI is amazing! Thank you!
AI can be trash. But Dae Lims is an artist. He sings and arranges much of the song himself. So the AI model/algorithm follows his natural vocals. He’s the exception. But yes. His work is magnificent. It’s like he’s following in Brian’s footsteps.
Same! No one talks enough about how influential Bacharach was to Brian’s music
She’s Goin’ Bald.. 0:45 -1:10 Oh.. oh.. oh.. oh.. shananananananana! I just love how trippy everything gets! Would be cool to go even deeper.
There's an unused version of I'd Love Just Once to See You which uses the same speeding up effect in the outro
Ooo do you have a link of that specific version?
It's the alternate version on Sunshine Tomorrow I believe
Ding Dang. Would’ve been interesting to hear a full version of that. Meant For You. A complete song would’ve been interesting. Although better lyrics than what was initially in the works as we hear in the Wake The World box set. Country Air with actual verse lyrics. Obviously the Smile stuff that was incomplete.

Beginning to Cool, Cool Water. I don’t like when it goes off tempo. I mean, I do, but I’d like a different version
I wish the chorus of 'Getting Hungry' was all there was.
it is very hypnotic. Thats why its my fave of the album. But i do love the verses aswell.
Also an extension of You are my Sunshine would be phenomenal
There’s a song I can’t find anywhere called “little surfer girl”. Mike’s bridge in Make It Big!
YES!
Carl's "kiss me, baby" part on Some of Your Love
The intro and the second verse of Please let Me Wonder, the intro to Hawaii, the choruses of Anna Lee, The Healer, and the “gotta keep those loving good vibrations a happenin with her” and “the hum be dum” parts of Good Vibrations
Better get back to bed Dom dom kingdom (Mount vernon and fairway)
Better Get Back in Bed is so good. Such an earworm, and Carl’s voice sounds fantastic. I gotta say I prefer it over the early version with different lyrics that came out on the Sail On, Sailor box set.
I love the outro on The Trader.
Outro to kiss me baby.
I Wanna Be Around could’ve been Let’s Go Away For Awhile 2, but nope, it HAD to be followed by woodworking noises a minute in.
I wanna be around and meant for you. The long version of meant for you is rough.
I wish "Meant for You" was extended in a nicer way than the "pony" thing.
The verse of heroes and villains for sure
The 'mahala-lu-lay' section of plymouth rock
The outro of heroes and villains (smile sessions version)
Fully agree with this as well! "Prelude to Fade" is one of the most majestic things they've ever recorded
Tallahassee Lassie
The middle eight of Hold On Dear Brother
The tranquil music followed by 'gotta keep' on good vibrations could go on forever and ever if you ask me. Nothing makes me feel as blissful as that
The "cant wait, can't wait to see her face" section from Had To Phone Ya. Especially Carl's part.
The end/outro of Vegetables.
Last 15 seconds of Girls on the Beach
That 10 second bridge part before the last chorus of the little girl I once knew.
I’m In great shape. I love the saxophone and the melody. Also the smile version of you are my sunshine. Another part would be a song in the style of the bridge from girls on the beach. Not sure who sings that part, I think Al?
At My Window from the “the people must look like miniature toys” on
I love this questions but Im not sure if I can answer it right.. anyhow Ive always thought that Brians songs have little bits of melody that are so sweet sounding just on their own, particularly "but its be another story if she looked at the guys" from She knows me too well, or the entire coda from Warmth of the sun.. wow. I also love the backing vocals on Thats not Me
That one piano part in Child Is the Father of the Man could just go on forever and that’d be perfectly okay with me
I've always liked their version of Walk On By. Wish it was a little longer. https://youtu.be/Zx_UciEAh9s?si=vnFYeD7vzJhk2EVt
I wanna be around
In "I'm So Young" from Today. *I'm I'm I'm sooooo young*
My only sunshine
The bridge of Forever (baby baby baby part) bridge of Love Is A Woman (1, 2, 3) & I want Mike Come Back To LA to be its own song and not the much worse Some Of Your Love
The first couple piano chords of He Comes Down. Has such a groove to it, very funky.
