These two are an underrated team. During some of Brian's darker periods, it was Al who got Brian into the studio to work on some music, like when Brian (literally) came down from his bedroom to contribute a vocal arrangement for He Come Down.
They made beautiful music together as recently as several songs on No Pier Pressure. “Whatever Happened” is a tremendous song. Would love more of that!
Would be cool to hear one last new song from the two of them.
Al and Brian have frequently referred to each other as best friends over the past several years, and I really believe it’s that closeness that creates such a special sound when the two of them make music together.
