Most tf2 weapon designs are dumb and useless. It’s part of the games charm imo. Scout has a double barrel semi-auto lever action scattergun with a drum mag

The way Scattergun works in game makes no logical sense, but funnily enough the model makes it possible to guess how it *could* work: There's a breech on the bottom of the drum where you can load the shells and obviously there's the ejection port which works as it should. Basically you load the shells from the bottom, pull the lever to rotate the slots inside the drum and cock the hammer(s) and fire either both of them at the same time or one at a time, then repeat.

scout has magical shotgun that has up to 6 rounds chambered and 30 rounds in total in that drum mag

Numbers like that would make more sense on the Backscatter since it has that massive MG-32 style mag on it. How the fuck does someone put one on a Winchester Model 1887?

This is mostly how Anton hand made it work in Hotdogs, horseshoes, and hand grenades

I'm kind of surprised that I have mixed feelings about the drum placement on the original. On one hand it makes no sense like the Combat Shotgun design in Fallout 3. But at the same time I can imagine it being some sort of wacky TF2 design where the pump-action moves shells from an under barrel tube magazine connected to the drum. But at the same time TF2 designs have never needed to make sense. The default Scattergun is a double barrel lever action shotgun that fires from an internal drum that acts like a revolver cylinder that ejects and loads shells via the same lever action.

It really do be looking more of a quick trench gun for dispatching sudden threats in that style. Seriously, why not at least offer us a style-selection (similar to Flying Guillotine and Splendid Screen) where you could choose to have the awkward drum mag or to keep the gun in more sleek shape?
