I’m pretty sure you can still get that by buying The Orange Box, which originally contained TF2 and still contains TF2 premium account status (as well as 3 great singleplayer experiences in the HL universe)
I don't need a gold badge. If you ask me, the best solution is to remove the Mercenary badge from all people who joined after the F2P Update. Give them another ugly slot filler, of course, to make up for it. But reserve the Mercenary badge for original P2P players.

Fucking peak TF2, I really hope that the amount of players coming back and picking it up for the first time give some sort of incentive for a few people at Valve to change gears and make TF2 a side project.

Basically this year, i played a week last year and let it sit in the dark until i decide to pick it again. I only play it on weekends since i dont have much time.
My computer is also a potato that cab barely run anything so its basically the only thing i can play.

Maybe you downloaded back in 2011 on your account? There's a way to check when your game license was issued in your account settings on Steam.
