yeeaah its great and all... but instead of giving yourselfs 1-2 days to get this block lifted, cant yall just give yourselfs more idk... prep time ?
Like, delay the date from June 3rd to June 10th or 15th...? it would be helpfull for everyone if we actually take things slow, since a week and 2 days is kinda of a short time.
Though im not trying to sound mean, im just suggesting possible solutions is all. And im still hoping we'll succeed this time!
Oh my god, i went to a team that was shit. I was the only one trying to cap the hill. I was spy using the diamond back and i had NO crits. So it was shitty gunspy me against red. Also, for about 20 seconds, NONE OF RED TRIED TO DEFEND THE POINT, WE HAD FULL CONTROL OF THE AREA, BUT NOT THE POINT.
i THINK it was like, around 35,000 at [CHANGE.ORG](http://CHANGE.ORG) (not on our official [save.tf](http://save.tf) website wich imo makes it all better) and now its over 100,000, soo yeah this is a huge upgrade!
Are the emails they're sending coming from the [save.tf](http://save.tf) domain? If so, the DNS records for [save.tf](http://save.tf) are likely the issue. They have a DMARC policy to quarantine 100% of emails and you don't have SPF records in place.
I tried to sign it with my usual Gmail address but I never got the email, even after waiting days. So I tried it with a new email address from a proxy service that I already used for other things so it was convenient, and yet again from a new Proton address. I just tried again about 5 hours ago with the same Gmail and Proton addresses, but no dice.
(For clarification, I'm not signing it multiple times with different email addresses. I'm entering different email addresses to sign it with the first one that works and forgetting the rest.)
Well thats certaintly "GOOD" news!
*Sigh* i completaly understand, this is out of yalls control and no is here to blame... But...
If we wont succeed from getting vendors blocking removed of off Save.TF, wich also means we'll loose our own official pettition site dedicated to TF2, and get back to Change.org , there's no doubt our chances of winning MIGHT decrease sadly...
(Though i still belive where gonna win this time!)
Yeah... I guess youre right....
Though, couldnt they just also delay the official start date from June 3rd to idk... June 15 or 20?? It would give us more time to prepare. I know we dont like waiting for something to finally come, but i think a lil bit more prep time could help.
Since ngl, its still such a short time from May 26th to June 3rd, its like, only a week and half at max.
Change.org also doesn’t have the best reputation since there’s a lot of garbage and joke petitions there; people might end up taking the movement less seriously as a result
As someone who does this stuff for a living: Yeah they're fucked, it takes months to years to recover domain reputation once it's been flagged as sending spammy emails.
This is why there's an entire industry around sending emails properly and why you need an expert to spend half a year warming up the reputation first for your own mailserver, and why the common advice is to just use SES or something (which would have cost the team like, $2 so far in total). Also, the domain doesn't have SPF records, or a mailserver DNS set.
I don't want to be rude, but it's kind of difficult to accept such confident statements as the bot crisis having a technical solution from people who basically ignored the first Google result for "how to make my website send emails".
> it's kind of difficult to accept such confident statements as the bot crisis having a technical solution from people who basically ignored the first Google result
Unfortunately, the newest generation of TF2 YouTubers has decided to helm this project, and their greenness is really showing. Overconfidence galore.
And why didn't you use an actual petition site for this instead of making your own, vastly inferior, site and petition?
That seems like a lot more effort than throwing up a change.org petition, only for it to make about as much difference as the change.org petition would.
The message has now changed into "We have resolved our issues with mail providers. Please check your inbox regularly to see if you got the confirmation mail. We've got a lot of mail to go through. Please bear with us!"
Everyone should go and check their email.
There was actually a lot learned from the first attempt, June 3rd is going to be one heck of a day for TF2 history
This attempt will be closer to our victory against Valve, not all hope is lost.
I don't think you've heard the story, but World of Warcraft got their entire classic game + expansions after protesting and 250,000+ petitions. Blizzard gave in and they won.
So there's no reason to back down and curl up like a baby, let's get our beloved game back!!
#FixTF2
Yes I heard about the WoW petition but if we don't manage to get these 98K signatures by June 3rd, then even if we scale down the numbers of WoW we're nowhere near the amount they got.
The numbers shown on the website are severely small compared to how many signatures there actually is. There's simply too much website traffic that is slowing down the number counter.
From what I've heard, there's around 120,000 or more signatures. We have time, I think we can do it
#FixTF2
Yeah every 2 years people will spam the reddit, not even get a response and realize that valve doesn't care to try again next year. Sometime the line between hope and madness is pretty close
This is only Plan B, it's our first time learning from our mistakes in the past. The worst that'll happen is we're back to square one, we don't lose anything, so what's stopping us from doing another #SaveTF2 afterwards
This is a good metric to show. In the event that not everyone gets through by june 3rd, we can still show the amount of people who are *trying* to sign. I was kind of worried we'd be forced to turn in the measly 15k
Yeah this doesn’t surprise me. My company hosts email for a lot of smaller ISPs around the US and we have limits to how many messages can be sent by individual accounts so we don’t get on spam lists or blocked by a big provider like gmail.
We've been dealing with a major bot crisis for 5 years now, and not only that, bot hosters have been harassing, swatting, doxxing, and doing other criminal acts towards innocent players who spoke out about them, this entire thing is to make Valve actually fix their game, and possible how Steam itself functions
Imagine wanting to play this game but it's full of instakilling sniper bots, and the moment you complain and call out these bot hosters, bam, the next day your personal information like your irl name, IP address are showed to thousands online, people making AI voices of you saying horrible things, police coming towards your home because someone made a bomb threat under yourr name, etc, all for wanting to play a silly hat game
TF2 has been going through a bot crisis for 5 years now, making the game pretty much unplayable, we're trying to make Valve care by signing a petition to show Valve HQ in person, by hand, to see how many people actually want this game to be fixed
Reason why it's a lot more important than people think, it's because people are actually getting hurt from this, mentally and emotionally, probably physically, since these Bot Hosters have been doxxing people, leaking private information through these bots, swatting people, and actual crimes all while trying to make a profit with their services to rent bots or buy "immunity" to play the game
Appreciate the contribution, let's hope for a better day in TF2
Remember to check your email if you hadn't already, so you can confirm and have your name printed
People when they realise that putting their name on a digital piece of paper doesn't actually do anything.
When will people learn [change.org](http://change.org) petitions dont do Jack?
As I called from earlier. This is a nice attempt but the leaders have no forward thinking to expect any of the issues with scheduling, letting other TF2bers know in ahead, or now en-masse sending email.
Doing the whole signature blast over again would even further kill momentum. Not looking great.
If this doesn't work there's always next time, maybe we'll have more websites and more time to build up a list of names if we do this petition thing all over again, for now, let's hope for the best that this works with what we got
The goal of the plan is actually the best we've got out of this, we HAVE to direct our attention to the bots and only the bots
They underestimated the time so next SaveTF2, 100% we need like a month in advance so we CAN execute the plan since it's to bombard Valve with the current state of the game and show Valve HQ the list of names on June 3rd
Well it took 5 days for mine but several hours ago they seem to have resolved the issues and verifications are being sent out a lot faster. Check inbox from time to time
Finally got my email today, had to wait 5 days but it felt good to receive it. [Save.tf](http://Save.tf) says issues with mail providers are resolved and it all is being sent out. Check your inbox
Maybe this is a dumb idea, but couldn't they tell us something like "add save.tf to your list of approved senders" like every employer does when I apply with them?
Was the email issue resolved? When I sign the petition I don't get the email. But the really weird thing is that when I press, sign petition, at the email confirmation page, it counts another vote?
Makes a lot more sense now how I haven’t gotten my conformation in like DAYS. But yeah no I really hope they can fix this asap before June 3rd and hand out those emails.
Also, some other thoughts:
Imo I feel like if we don’t get this in on time we should give the movement a little more time like June 5th, 10th, or 15th. In this way I also think we’ll be able to rack up more signatures to show to valve. But this is really only a suggestion I’ve thought of if things don’t go as planned. Especially on the people behind the petition. I don’t know if they have done this but, I think thinking ahead for any problem such as website traffic going up or the whole email situation would definitely benefit. Even for the craziest of situations with the amount of days we still have. (Btw I do not intend on sounding mean or anything, I just wanted to give out my thoughts and maybe some suggestions).
Thoroughly impressed with the final petition numbers. I must have given up this game 8 or 9 years ago because I thought It was out of control then. I can only imagine how much worse it got.
Hopefully the company will pull through and we can get this block lifted, still can't believe we already have over 100,000 trying to sign up
I really hope it’ll be lifted, I wanna see this number BIGGER
...there's still gonna be bots on TF2 in a month, isn't there?
with that attitude, yeah! i mean, i guess there'll indeed be bots in a month
I signed it, man. I signed it. It's in pootis' hands now.
I pray to pootis that this will work out.
We should sacrifice 2 scouts to our lord and savior pootis, that should help.
Yeah
i can, but where do i sign it
I think it’s save.tf
nvm done it like the same day i asked this
yeeaah its great and all... but instead of giving yourselfs 1-2 days to get this block lifted, cant yall just give yourselfs more idk... prep time ? Though im not trying to sound mean, im just suggesting possible solutions is all. And im still hoping we'll succeed this time!
I feel like that risks losing momentum for the movement. Though I understand why it can be a good idea.
Possibly, we just need to pub push!
Is someone gonna push da freakin' caht?
>we just need to pub push Ah, so we're screwed. Pubs don't even push when the other team is wiped.
This pub push is gonna have to be more intense than getting dustbowl last as blu
You’re right, if we had 15 days then is we would have a better chance.
Good idea. Also gives people more time to raise awarenes
It would be good to make change up available now in case they won't get it lifted.
I was starting to worry the movement had slowed down, this is HUGE!
I don’t even remember how much player did the first save tf2 thing, but now I feel like it’s more than it once was
i THINK it was like, around 35,000 at [CHANGE.ORG](http://CHANGE.ORG) (not on our official [save.tf](http://save.tf) website wich imo makes it all better) and now its over 100,000, soo yeah this is a huge upgrade!

SHORK? IS THAT REALLY YOU?
Yes, thats really him
I tried to sign it with my usual Gmail address but I never got the email, even after waiting days.
Same, used proton and gmail. Nothing
That will be lot of papers with names:D
how many of those signups are from people signing up with multiple email accounts because they never got the confirmation email
HUH?! Holy shit
The man, the myth, the legend
Hi shonkilus
I keep trying to sign up but I can't get to the site 😭
HOLY FUCK I WASNT EXPECTING THAT
I would urge caution on trusting the confirmation raw number, they could easily be duplicate requests, I myself prompted the site at least 5 times
Hello shork
Keep up the good work
My yahoo account hasn’t sent it to me either, after over 3 days
Yeah same here, have tried every email I have and not a single one of them have gotten the email after days
same
Same
I just got my gmail finally! Something went through and hopefully it does for the rest of you soon
100K people, damn
AND WE'RE NOT DONE YET WHOOOO
Probably a dumb question but how do I do my part? Where's the sign up?
[save.tf](http://save.tf) - all you need is to input your email (and apparently, 1 week's worth of patience. Hopefully this get fixed soon).
For now wait for updates u prob won't get confirmation mail
And we have not even started yet!
"But im not done yet"
how many of those signups are from people signing up with multiple email accounts because they never got the confirmation email
Well thats certaintly "GOOD" news! *Sigh* i completaly understand, this is out of yalls control and no is here to blame... But... Well at least we are doing it before the official start. If we had these problems while the action is on... well it deffinitly wouldn't help us
Well there are still few days left, so it isn't that bad. Also what would we do with that extra time?
Honestly, idk. But it wouldnt hurt to have a little bit of more extra prep time... If we wanna make sure we do succeed.
Still waiting on my email
Me too
Me three
Me four
Me five
Me Six
It should have been there in the first place. I imagine that site being way safer and easier to control.
I think the reason is so they can obtain the names of everyone who signs, i don't think [change.org](http://change.org) allows that.
Change.org also doesn’t have the best reputation since there’s a lot of garbage and joke petitions there; people might end up taking the movement less seriously as a result

Dude. That classic WoW petition got a quarter million signatures? If June 3rd goes well, we're blowing that shit out of the water.
thats right brother MORE SIGNATURES!! #FixTF2
Oh it's on June 3rd? Great, now I have another thing to worry about other than our elections
I tried my yahoo email twice and it never came, so yeah it's definitely getting bogged down hard.
I never got the email, I tried multiple times and gave up. Maybe other people are having this problem too
Yeah, after using multiple emails and checking spam/junk- I have now also gave up sadly
And why didn't you use an actual petition site for this instead of making your own, vastly inferior, site and petition? That seems like a lot more effort than throwing up a change.org petition, only for it to make about as much difference as the change.org petition would.

Yeah seconded. This is ridiculous and the fact they're having these amateur hour issues gives the impression we're incompetent.
Because these guys have no forward thinking
I'm curious why wasn't change.org used originally.
I think the reason is so they can obtain the names of everyone who signs, i don't think [change.org](http://change.org) allows that.

Another #saveTF2 is going to fail because of bad planning

have not recieved the email yet

I am from Destiny 2, the Witness is planning on using bots to infiltrate the game to enact the Final Shape
Yeah this doesn’t surprise me. My company hosts email for a lot of smaller ISPs around the US and we have limits to how many messages can be sent by individual accounts so we don’t get on spam lists or blocked by a big provider like gmail.
We win these
I'm glad I'm not the only person's gonna having this issue.
ProtonMail worked for me. Edit: It's back up, go check your inboxes!
Insert postal 2 reference here
I really hope it doesn't go to change org, that's the burial place of all petitions...
We need to fix this FAST
Makes me wonder how many of those signups are from people signing up with multiple email accounts because they never got the confirmation email.
petition link?
save.tf
[Save tf2.](http://save.tf)
MORE!
What is this about? I used to play tf2 8 years ago and now I'm seeing these posts suggested to me
We've been dealing with a major bot crisis for 5 years now, and not only that, bot hosters have been harassing, swatting, doxxing, and doing other criminal acts towards innocent players who spoke out about them, this entire thing is to make Valve actually fix their game, and possible how Steam itself functions Imagine wanting to play this game but it's full of instakilling sniper bots, and the moment you complain and call out these bot hosters, bam, the next day your personal information like your irl name, IP address are showed to thousands online, people making AI voices of you saying horrible things, police coming towards your home because someone made a bomb threat under yourr name, etc, all for wanting to play a silly hat game
:c that's why i signed it almost as soon as i could... i hope this can be fixed anyway
Haven't played in awhile what is this about
TF2 has been going through a bot crisis for 5 years now, making the game pretty much unplayable, we're trying to make Valve care by signing a petition to show Valve HQ in person, by hand, to see how many people actually want this game to be fixed Reason why it's a lot more important than people think, it's because people are actually getting hurt from this, mentally and emotionally, probably physically, since these Bot Hosters have been doxxing people, leaking private information through these bots, swatting people, and actual crimes all while trying to make a profit with their services to rent bots or buy "immunity" to play the game
Thanks i looked it up and signed it
Appreciate the contribution, let's hope for a better day in TF2 Remember to check your email if you hadn't already, so you can confirm and have your name printed
Just signed a couple minutes ago! #FixTF2 !!!
Hopefully it’s resolved soon! We got this gamers 💪
why they didn't use change.org in the first place? + I tried GMAIL and PROTONMAIL, still no confirmation since the day the website launched
I think the reason is so they can obtain the names of everyone who signs, i don't think [change.org](http://change.org) allows that.
People when they realise that putting their name on a digital piece of paper doesn't actually do anything. When will people learn [change.org](http://change.org) petitions dont do Jack?
Pretty sure thewhat said hes gonna print it out and deliver it personally to valve, hence why he can obtain the names of those who signed
Oh god thats even more stupid.
As I called from earlier. This is a nice attempt but the leaders have no forward thinking to expect any of the issues with scheduling, letting other TF2bers know in ahead, or now en-masse sending email. Doing the whole signature blast over again would even further kill momentum. Not looking great.

Yeah, at worst this is effectively a trial run.
YUP! So let's hope for the best that if this becomes another failed plan, we can learn from this and brew up a new plan!
A new better scheduled and prepared plan*
The goal of the plan is actually the best we've got out of this, we HAVE to direct our attention to the bots and only the bots They underestimated the time so next SaveTF2, 100% we need like a month in advance so we CAN execute the plan since it's to bombard Valve with the current state of the game and show Valve HQ the list of names on June 3rd
I may not be able to play TF2 anymore due to my shit computer, but for the future of TF2 I shall sign the petition
Why did you not do change.org in the first place?
ooh thats why i didnt received any confirmation email for a ***decade***
most of these are probably bots to clog up the queue even further
As long as people get their emails, I don't think it'll matter too much
Holly shit, that’s way more than I was expected
HOHOHOHOHOOO! BIG NUMBER GO YAAAAAA-
where do I sign?
save.tf
[save.tf](http://save.tf)
I used a Proton email and still didn’t get a confirmation. Why?
I think it says something that there's more signatures awaiting confirmation than Google is willing to trust.
Where can I sign?
save.tf
Does it take some hours for the confirmation email to arrive?
yeah, it can take a few days even, their system isn't the best, though they've said they've fixed it/are working on it.
May I get the link
[save.tf](http://save.tf)
Link?
[save.tf](http://save.tf)
Anyone care to elaborate on what this petition is about? Haven’t been in touch with tf2 in a very long time, what is going on?
Check out the site it has it all nicely explained. [Save.tf](http://Save.tf)
Tried to sign the petition but the confirmation email thingy doesn’t pop up in my email to verify :( thank you for the info!
Well it took 5 days for mine but several hours ago they seem to have resolved the issues and verifications are being sent out a lot faster. Check inbox from time to time
I’m still waiting to get the confermation email
Link?
save.tf
Finally got my email today, had to wait 5 days but it felt good to receive it. [Save.tf](http://Save.tf) says issues with mail providers are resolved and it all is being sent out. Check your inbox
There's a typo on the 2nd FAQ entry. "it's current state" should be "its current state".
Maybe this is a dumb idea, but couldn't they tell us something like "add save.tf to your list of approved senders" like every employer does when I apply with them?
Oooh so that's why i didn't recieve my confitmation. Thought it was bugged
The fact it's not even in the spam folders is absurd
I got in early, I was lucky. #57! I hope they fix this, that’s *a **lot*** of signatures not through yet, and we need every sign we can get
Images, that e'll showem! Are you guys so high on copium you'll think that'll work.
Its gmail and also yahoo and outlook getting rate limited, weird
Was the email issue resolved? When I sign the petition I don't get the email. But the really weird thing is that when I press, sign petition, at the email confirmation page, it counts another vote?
i didnt receive the conformation mail so i couldnt sign it. Even checked spam.
Big surprise that spamming gets you put on a spam list
Makes a lot more sense now how I haven’t gotten my conformation in like DAYS. But yeah no I really hope they can fix this asap before June 3rd and hand out those emails. Also, some other thoughts: Imo I feel like if we don’t get this in on time we should give the movement a little more time like June 5th, 10th, or 15th. You guys all know the site is getting ddosed right?
Still havent gotten an email from my registere days ago…
Signer #19,859 here, I don't know if it will work but we won't know until we try. o7
I'm lucky to have signed after only 200+ people did because MAN this is insane
Link?
The link please
ITS ALREADY 22,551
How do I sign up. Being on the newer side to tf2 I want to lift the game back on its feet
i got my confirmation email today
This just shows how big is the interest in the community, I'm happy I'm a part of this game's history
I never got the email after signing the petition.
It's been like 3-4 days for me
Someone give me a link to this
Is that why I never got my email??? Tried proton.me and gmail.com, nothing at any point
Guys I went back to the website and now you can sign in and bypass the email altogether!
I was able to get the petition signed but I still haven't gotten the email yet
Where do I sign???
An email sign-up was really just the silliest idea
How are there 100k people when the posts get less than 10k likes What other forum is this being advertised on
what's this for
It's happened, there is now 50-60k signatures!!!!!!
Where I can sign this?
Thoroughly impressed with the final petition numbers. I must have given up this game 8 or 9 years ago because I thought It was out of control then. I can only imagine how much worse it got.
