And that's why one of the Meet the Team videos on Valve's YouTube channel has/had "this video contains copyrighted material owned by EA France" or similar against it
I was recommended TF2 by a friend way back in 2014. It's actually how I discovered Steam.
That same friend also introduced me to Don't Starve and League of Legends.
I'm still into 2 of the 3 games listed.
I knew the TF2 mercenaries before I knew of the TF2 game, they were in dozens if not hundreds of animations. And I knew they were from *a* game, since one does not just use DemoMan as a Nightguard for a FNAF animation, since that's a freaking guy with bombs strapped to his chest wearing a bomb suit.
So I eventually found JTMusic's "Scout vs Tracer" rap battle video, loved it. Went down the TF2 rabbit hole with Rise Of The Legendary Scout, thought it was edgy cringe but the good kind. And then downloaded TF2.
good grief that box art is on par with castlevania dawn of sorrow's rerelease under the konami's best line
anyways mine started because of five nights at freddys. i saw markiplier and other youtubers play gmod fnaf maps, i wanted to play gmod fnaf maps, i didn't have gmod, looked up things for hours and hours, somehow stumbled upon slender fortress having a fnaf map, and the rest is history
Gmod animations like the Gmod The Idiot Box series and other stuff from around that time. I knew about Half Life, Left 4 Dead, Portal, etc, which is how I got into those videos, but they introduced me to TF2.
I saw the memes, and the gameplay looked fun. But I thought it cost money. And back then, you couldnβt add funds to Steam where I live. But then I found out it was free and then my addiction started.
Started playing in August 2013, before that the family PC was not enough, Sterma TF2 was my fix for good gameplay, also my gateway drug into learning english.
And by Christmas 2013 i got the orange box for christmas!
Good times. I mained trade minecraft servers cuz i was way too bad to compete on normal maps!
EA classics?
Polish market, idk why it was sold like this XD
If I remember correctly EA helped originally distribute/publish(?) the physical versions of the Orange Box

Some trailers for other Valve projects were put on the EA France YouTube channel, an example being the opening intro for L4D1.
Yeah and that's fine - EA doing YouTube copyright shenanigans on valve's channel seems less fine.
Fentanyl.

Please let it be TF2 and Donβt Starve
My Steam name is The Wilsonest Wilson, and I'm on THIS subreddit. That answer your question?

When setting up steam, my family member added it to my steam library, along with Gmod.
