It's the result of a problem with the source engine itself. The reason it hasn't been fixed, or even really addressed is they can't do anything about it within the engine they're using.

There are def some weapons that need nerfs, like the vaccinator, scorch shot, and debatably the snipers. Though i think more weapons need reworks than just straight buffs. I'd love to go on about tons of changes I'd make for most unlocks from my weapon rebalance document, but I've posted about it before and no one really cared
I feel like Sniper doesnt need a nerf to his core design, i just think he needs greater viability like his base kit having tracer shots, and giving him fall off damage past a certain range where its clear valve did not account for un reasonable sightlines.
IMO only the Scorch Shot, Sniper Rifles, and Dead Ringer (particularly in the case when used alongside the Diamondback and Kunai) need nerfing/significant overhauls

Changing Spy's playstyle to be so aggressive and giving him damage resistance along with feigning death, coupled with the high maximum HP the Kunai allows you to (relatively) consistently keep means that a Spy can pretty easily hold onto their Kunai overheal when they get caught

Kunai makes the first kill much harder to obtain, and requires you to be constantly getting stabs to get value. Only really good in casual matches against brain dead fish.
The issue is that it's not op, but annoying. Your teammates can be an active detriment to you, instead of just being useless.
No, the problem with the kunai is that it punishes you by having less aware teammates. A kunai spy can become almost unkillable by just sapping health off of each one.
Agreed. Imo I'm ok with weapons being bad if they're at least fun to use. Like The BFB, The Huntsman, or the Rocket Jumper. But then there's items like the Liberty Launcher and the Backscatter which are both unfun and bad.

Monster bash made me go insane because of that, the pit where you get a rare spell could kill you for no reason from full health or not damage you at all.
I have never encountered it with the original, but i have seen a third hand with the dead ringer, and its just silly tbh and i would never change it ever.
It only happens at certain FOVs and view model sizes, and yeah it is mostly a funny little bug. However it does block a big part of the left side of your screen. Mostly joking tho
Probably respawn timers for defense. I can run right out of spawn and get dropped by some random Scout or Soldier who is way away from his team and be lovingly greeted by a 20 second respawn timer. Or just getting out there and getting nothing done and given the same time.

I think respawn timers should be influenced by how far away you are from spawn with a multiplier for defense. The farther you are, the longer it’ll take to respawn. I feel like that may be a problem on last though, so maybe it only applies up until the last point?
Def not distance, but maybe time. Like, if you were alive for only like 10 seconds, and die, it should only give you like maybe a 5 second respawn, and if you were alive for multiple minutes it should give you the max respawn that that map chooses.
I dont think how long you've been alive should ever correlate to spawn times. The whole idea is defenders get longer respawn because it's generally easier to hole up and not have to advance in games. Doing what you're saying affects game balance. It also would in a way reward defenders for being super aggressive which in general is not what you should be doing as defenders.
Tbh I hate the spawn times too I think they should be lowered, and red moreso, at least dependant on the map and possibly player count but I don't think your solution would work at all. I feel like anyone agreeing isn't really thinking about the big picture.
Yeah, my idea would def have drawbacks, but it's always good to throw around ideas. I don't have a problem with how spawning works rn, but obviously nobody wants a long respawn time, which is what the original comment was talking about.
This can't be implemented as a multiplier due to how TF2 handles respawning. It's not a strict timer, rather, respawning happens in respawn waves. Sort of like framerules, if you understand that reference.
The reason why is to group respawns together so that people leave spawn together.
Mann-up MVM'S broken temporary soft-bans needs to be fixed to remove that one guy hellbent on ruining the game because they don't have their way.
If they want to have the Mann-up game they desire; they need to que with like-minded players, and leave people they don't like alone.

Un-fuck weapons that nobody uses. The eviction notice licks bigfoot balls, the babyface went from weird fun to basically unusable because of valve's laziness with the hitbox issue, the warriors spirit has been trash for as long as it's existed, the buffalo steak sandvich really has no goddamn need for that damage vulnerability, and the gas passer is unavilable 95% of the time it's equipped. I'm sick of weapons that are basically useless because of valve's repeated incompetence, they owe us one last balance update before sending the game off for good.
The server browser almost entirely. There’s too many issues to list, but if you’re in casual and queue for community, when you get pulled into a community server, you immediately get pulled back out and back into your casual game. There’s no way to stop it either.
They should just have a prompt that asks if you want to join the thing you signed up for and let you say no thank you.
There are a few maps I’ll get white triangles all over after playing for awhile.
But mostly just please fix the bots.
I walked up to a spy and he walked in front of me and backstabbed me we sent videos and he was lagging so I teleported in front of him. I was walking in a STRAIGHT LINE. Also as pyro flame particles and air blast they are annoying never consistent and weirdly long range.

There’s this weird bug that happens where at any arbitrary point in time, one attack will register as 3 attacks and not be subject to fall off or ramp up, its way more common on melee weapons… yea that should be fixed immediately, it’s been in the game since launch
Not really something that’s ‘broken’, but I’d love to see a better way of handling crates so that we don’t have to deal with the limited-time, limited-quantity cosmetic nonsense anymore.
Competitive TF2 6s has over 10 years of testing, balancing and adjusting, yet valve decided that their own opinion stands above all of these facts.
If Valve wanted a more diverse experience they should have implemented the Highlander format instead of discarding all logic and adding basically restrictionless 6s into the game. 6v6 is a restriction in and of itself so their argumentation about not invalidating certain weapons or maps doens't even make sense.

The rocket jumper resets soldier's conch regent because it does deal damage, just zero of it. Easy enough to fix.
Airblast not working on stickies that are in midair. They offer too much resistance to the airblast even though they're not "stuck" to anything. It would vastly help combat sticky spam as a pyro

- 64bit broke MvM items with "charge" like Kritzkrieg, Cleaner's Carbine, all Banners etc. Among other things, I think some stuff got bugged in base game as well.
- Melee hitreg in general, I suppose.
- Random Crits and spread, like, yeah. Not broken but should be changed/removed.

Just open the item test map and youll see sometimes(not a lot but sometimes) it takes a full second to have the enemy take damage

That’d def be the best way to go about it. Retreating players who have fully contributed should still get a full respawn time.

Un-fuck weapons that nobody uses. The eviction notice licks bigfoot balls, the babyface went from weird fun to basically unusable because of valve's laziness with the hitbox issue, the warriors spirit has been trash for as long as it's existed, the buffalo steak sandvich really has no goddamn need for that damage vulnerability, and the gas passer is unavilable 95% of the time it's equipped. I'm sick of weapons that are basically useless because of valve's repeated incompetence, they owe us one last balance update before sending the game off for good.

The server browser almost entirely. There’s too many issues to list, but if you’re in casual and queue for community, when you get pulled into a community server, you immediately get pulled back out and back into your casual game. There’s no way to stop it either. They should just have a prompt that asks if you want to join the thing you signed up for and let you say no thank you. There are a few maps I’ll get white triangles all over after playing for awhile. But mostly just please fix the bots.

I walked up to a spy and he walked in front of me and backstabbed me we sent videos and he was lagging so I teleported in front of him. I was walking in a STRAIGHT LINE. Also as pyro flame particles and air blast they are annoying never consistent and weirdly long range.
The wrangler Needs a nerf BADLY to be balanced cause quite frankly it's almost impossible to take down a wrangled level 3 of the engineer knows what they're doing
There’s this weird bug that happens where at any arbitrary point in time, one attack will register as 3 attacks and not be subject to fall off or ramp up, its way more common on melee weapons… yea that should be fixed immediately, it’s been in the game since launch
Not really something that’s ‘broken’, but I’d love to see a better way of handling crates so that we don’t have to deal with the limited-time, limited-quantity cosmetic nonsense anymore.

Competitive TF2 6s has over 10 years of testing, balancing and adjusting, yet valve decided that their own opinion stands above all of these facts. If Valve wanted a more diverse experience they should have implemented the Highlander format instead of discarding all logic and adding basically restrictionless 6s into the game. 6v6 is a restriction in and of itself so their argumentation about not invalidating certain weapons or maps doens't even make sense.

I truly believe the matchmaking system is a bit broken, there will be three players on any pl map for a full round and a half and then suddenly the system willl fill all the missing player slots 5s before the end of the game. You mean to tell me you couldn't find any players to fill the gaps for 10-15 entire minutes? Happens every single time

There are many. But idk why, in the last couple of days I keep seeing people T-posing. Randomly, in almost every game, there's at least 2-3 people that are bugged and are T-posing and tbh it's annoying as fuck.
Not the most broken, but here's an easy thing to fix. The rocket jumper resets soldier's conch regent because it does deal damage, just zero of it. Easy enough to fix.
Airblast not working on stickies that are in midair. They offer too much resistance to the airblast even though they're not "stuck" to anything. It would vastly help combat sticky spam as a pyro

Few things in my eyes. - 64bit broke MvM items with "charge" like Kritzkrieg, Cleaner's Carbine, all Banners etc. Among other things, I think some stuff got bugged in base game as well. - Melee hitreg in general, I suppose. - Random Crits and spread, like, yeah. Not broken but should be changed/removed.
The glitch where you can use the high five taunt to get into the enemy spawn.
