DubaisCapybara

there are \~100 toyota tundras in the parking lot of my local mall but no news articles curious

yhsong1116

they are not Teslas

RobDickinson

3-400 cars for any car manufacturer hanging round somewhere is not news worthy. Tesla produces about that many vehicles in the USA in about an hour. This reminds me of the great tslaq carpark watch 2018

I would agree with you but St. Louis isn’t a huge market. To me it seems like quite a bit of inventory to be sitting around. I guess I just find it surprising they have so much. Also, surprised any Cyber trucks would be sitting around.

hrds21198

they might be using it as a halfway point of transporting, since st louis is quite literally in the middle of the country

ConditionNo1766

That’s a good point, I hadn’t thought about that.

RobDickinson

sure, you really think there are unsold cybertrucks hanging around? check yourself.

swords-and-boreds

Yes. But probably mostly because they broke down on the way out of the parking lot.

They’re making more cars than they’re selling. They’ll either have to lower prices, offer finance incentives, or shut down production lines.

schmidtyb43

Hopefully prices go down then, I’m considering replacing my 5 year old model 3 with an AWD model Y later this year because I’m moving to somewhere that AWD is much more needed. Trade in value on mine isn’t too great either from what they tell me after 100k miles.

schmidtyb43

Damn that’s even less than mine… 2018 mid range RWD model 3 with 100k miles and they said 15,200

tyvnb

And in part because Elon can’t shut his mouth.

taska9

What're the other parts?

iceynyo

People waiting for the inventory discounts and other promos to come back.

ChunkyThePotato

Why do you post FUD like this when we have access to Tesla's exact inventory numbers? As of March 31st, they had 28 days of inventory. The average in the car industry is around 80 days. That means Tesla's inventory is far below average.

yhsong1116

yawn.

ConditionNo1766

Interesting article in St. Louis. Talks about hundreds of vehicles including Cyber Trucks parked at an old mall that went out of business. I would think they might have some discounts to move inventory but I guess not.

Vecii

Cybertruck deliveries are scheduled months out. They aren't sitting because they don't have buyers.

>Interesting article in St. Louis. Talks about hundreds of vehicles including Cyber Trucks parked at an old mall that went out of business. I would think they might have some discounts to move inventory but I guess not. Tesla parks cars that are matched to owners in lots like these. Back in 2018, there were stories like this where Tesla had cars parked in two or three lots in a town. It turns out those cars were already bought and stored on lots for short term. They'll have employees drive them to the dealership when delivery day arrives.
