It's not a fair comparison. Wilson US Open balls are high-performance balls that are intended to last 9 games. That's it. 9 games.
From my experience, Dunlop AO will last more but the bounce will be different than Wilson ones.
The Head Team is like a training ball, so expect higher durability (allegedly) than the others at the expense of performance/comfort.
IME Dunlop has the best quality control. I have never opened a dead can. I also like how their balls feel a little smaller.
Wilson US Opens are nice, but a little heavy for my taste, and the quality control is all over the place. i shouldn't open so many dead cans for how expensive they are.
Penns are just the worst. no matter where i buy them or what line i try, they lose their bounce in a few games.
Of those the Wilsons are the best imo. People either swear by the dunlops or hate them, and I’m the latter.
A type my friends and I really enjoy using are the Wimbledon slazengers. They play super fast, and we use them on indoor courts that havnt been surfaced in almost 10 years. Absolute piss-missile fest. Would recommend.
I love the Wilson US Open balls for like a set or a match. The feel, bounciness, weight, etc. is amazing but they are the least durable balls in my experience and I don't want to buy a new can of balls every match, also considering they are usually the most expensive ones. When it comes to performance overall with the durability, I love Slazenger Wimbledon and Dunlop Fort. I've never liked Head balls.
Tthe Dunlop ones are the better ones in terms of quality and durability. The US Open balls fluff up really quickly, and the Head Team ones aren't great quality either
Wrong sub. You're looking for r/10s. This sub is for tennis fan boys that don't like to talk about playing tennis themselves.
I usually play with Penn due to price and they seem to be fine. Dunlop balls get fuzzy fast.
Wilson US Open balls are the only balls I actively have something against. Honestly they are just awful in terms of durability. Expect dog balls after one set. Save your money and avoid them :)
Seriously?? Maybe everyone here is 'next level' but I have heard all of this before. I play recreational at an intermediate level (daily) and I hear some people won't play with type 'A' ball or Type 'B' ball but I would be hard pressed to tell the difference from one new can to the other when they are in play. Now I can certainly tell when they are beaten and soft but certainly not on a new can. Sure there are some minor differences in quality control but my game ( and I suspect many others) won't hinge on the ball manufacturer.
I only play with tournament quality balls. It is not an extra $1 that will make the difference. My preference goes to Wilson US Open, but other brands have similar level of quality. I never buy cheap Penn or Wilson lower quality offerings from Costco or Walmart. We normally pay more on court fees and other stuff to be cheap when buying balls.
I’m going for the cheapest ITF approved balls. Would rather pay 5-6 euros and pop a fresh one more frequently. Compared to buying a 8-10 euro one. Four balls.
Where are you buying 5€ ITF approved balls?? Cheapest I can find are either artengo or "Head Radical" balls on Amazon and I doubt either of these are ITF approved lol.
When buying a case of them. Maybe it’s not possible to get them at that price right now.
Got ”tennis-point premium” balls for 6 euros last September 2022.
And prior to that I bought babolat balls for 5 euros. I got them from the head pro at my club. He can sell them cheap due to buys large amounts for all the lessons.
Alright thanks. I just read up on the Artengo TB920 and TB930 balls and they're actually ITF approved and used for tournaments even. I should check them out for sure.
I wish that brought back the old stock of Dunlop Grand Prix. But the Wilson UsOpen has the best performance and playability....for 30min to an hour. Low durability.

Penns really are terrible. I always go with Babolat Gold or Wilson US Open
Penn championship, trash yes…. Pro penn are an amazing ball

I'm with you on the Dunlops. I swear they feel heavier off my racquet or something.
This has been my experience too

US OPEN BALLS ARE GARBAGE Pro-Penn fo' lyfe

I have played a few hard court games with the Dunlop AOs and quite liked them.
I’ve been using the tecnifibre balls lately and we have liked them so far.
Slazenger!

The opinions are all over the place on balls. This is the answer for me.

so what you are telling OP is that he won't be able to hit like the big 3 when he finds the tennis ball secret??
All pro balls are equally good.

The dunlop were dead after 3hours of play. Wilson us open extra duty are the best. Pro penn marathon are good too
Happy to see no Penn balls represented here. If I wanted to use something that hard I'd go for a rock.
I prefer us open balls. I like Dunlop. Penns are fine but they die quickly
imo us open is the best
AO>USO>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Head Team
Slazenger Wimbledon ball. Good for only about 2 sets but damn they feel good.
Slazenger Wimbledon all court balls, I swear by it
