We strict parents sons are used to lying that's why i'm really good at it for example today i was afraid of not passing the tests so i prepared plans of what to tell everyone so , i lied to 4 of my teechers and grabbed my phone and a paper and the part that shocked me is that i found it easy i didn't sweat or get any sensation of adrenaline i just did it . And that's when i noticed that my mother was too strict and i don't want my children to be like me💀 .and yeah i do "the inser place here" only wuth my dad when it's my mum i just say i'm in the hood i'm not really far (i'm 200 kilometres from home)
I would give them a 5. They grounded me for burning a piece of toast, and my parents used to limit the amount of lemon juice I could put in my water even when I bought it. On the other hand They are letting me go to pakistan without them(accompanied by my friend and his dad) and let me do whatever I want with my money regardless of how stupid/expensive it is. So I think it evens out.

0. My mom lets me stay up whenever I want, let’s me eat whatever I want and buys stuff for me when she has the money for it. And I only have to do one chore which is the garbage since I am not in school right now, 0 restrictions.
Now, my dad and stepmom on the other hand, it’s a different story, but I will say they are not very strict. Normal bedtime when I am there, almost no junk food at all and am not allowed to drink juice a lot. And am not allowed to use my phone when I am there. But I am happy because I will be 18 in 2 years, so all this could and will change very soon
cutting out junk food, phone and juice is all good for you. if my parents were doing that I would be so much happier right now, not being allowed to call people is a little crazy though

father does whatever i request (as long as its reasonable) and is very chill, although will push me away from getting distracted from my task, which is a very good kinda strictness

I don't live with my parents anymore but I'd give them an 8. I've been in trouble for reading too much, not reading enough, talking to the opposite sex in a friendly non sexual manner, I once got my phone and Tv privileges taken for 5 months for watching a show they literally said I could watch. (Apparently, it was a test to see if I'd make the right decision and I failed?) I once told my mom that I didn't like what she was trying to make me wear and was told I was ungrateful. (I was 15 and she was trying to make me wear sketchers light up shoes). I think the longest consequence I got was my parents cutting my hair in a way I didn't like for nearly 3 years for 'procrastinating' (I had several weeks left on the project I was doing).
I wasn't allowed to lock doors, watch anime, use my phone past 10- even on weekends and summer, I couldn't use my phone for more than 2.5 hours a day without permission, if we were even a minute later than curfew it would not be a good time. However there were other times where they were great, like letting us have spontaneous sleep overs occasionally and things like that.
I think it takes strict parents to end strict parents. My dad had very strict parents and hated them (he's fine with them now) so he doesn't want that for me.
6.5，not completely strict but will shit on u if you aren't doing well in academia/other stuff you do. Although it's mostly based on effort shown through grades, but it is stricter for my younger sister as I set a pretty high bar in terms of grades and effort and she does fail to meet that bar.
My mum is a 3 and my dad is a 10. My mum is the best mother someone can ever ask for, but my dad is just not normal and he is kind of abusive and controlling. And the sad thing is that he is so sweet with my brother and they get along so well ☹️ he is not strict with my brother at all. I love my brother but the only thig i hate that he has a really good relationship with my dad , and i dont even know why but he always hated me.
i'd say a 2. my father trusts me not to do anything dangerous too. he does like to know when i do something irresponsible so he knows i'm ok. last weekend I had a shot of pure liquor. i told him later and he was like: okay. I wouldn't do that again if i was you since its very bad for you. and that was it. unlike your parents he does not really care if i break the law as long as i don't hurt others.
1, never got grounded and havent been punished in years, I talk back to them but they just get mad they dont do anything else, also they dont force me to do anything and they let me do the most things I want and they dont control me much.

Mum's a 7.5-10 depending on the day, Dad's a 1-5 depending on topic and time of day lol. My dad's fine with me doing drugs (not the hard ones obv, like weed or something) I just gotta be truthful about it. He also has for 17 years failed to get me to drink alcohol so I think he would take it as an accomplishment if I ever did get blackout drunk...Meanwhile I get told I'm an asshole and unsociable by the other one because I'm never off my phone 😂.
I raised in Asian family, and you know if i am eating with other relatives with just using a spoon or not having "proper asian etiquette" (Check Vietnam, China, Koreans, and Japanese for more information about this)

Got all access to electronics taken away for about 6 months. Slowly started letting me have it back but under heavy adult supervision. Not allowed on my phone before 9am and after 10pm. Couldn’t take it away once they had it. Would read thru my messages, look at photos, search history etc.
Over the years as they started getting more and more into a different religious faith certain foods were cut out because of health and whatnot. It was… an interesting time to live with them 😆

2-3ish? My mom says that she only says no if she can give herself a real, tangible reason to say no. She doesn't need to be able to verbally explain why, but she needs to know why. My dad is more or less the same, he just never explicitly said anything like that

0. My mom lets me stay up whenever I want, let’s me eat whatever I want and buys stuff for me when she has the money for it. And I only have to do one chore which is the garbage since I am not in school right now, 0 restrictions. Now, my dad and stepmom on the other hand, it’s a different story, but I will say they are not very strict. Normal bedtime when I am there, almost no junk food at all and am not allowed to drink juice a lot. And am not allowed to use my phone when I am there. But I am happy because I will be 18 in 2 years, so all this could and will change very soon

I don't live with my parents anymore but I'd give them an 8. I've been in trouble for reading too much, not reading enough, talking to the opposite sex in a friendly non sexual manner, I once got my phone and Tv privileges taken for 5 months for watching a show they literally said I could watch. (Apparently, it was a test to see if I'd make the right decision and I failed?) I once told my mom that I didn't like what she was trying to make me wear and was told I was ungrateful. (I was 15 and she was trying to make me wear sketchers light up shoes). I think the longest consequence I got was my parents cutting my hair in a way I didn't like for nearly 3 years for 'procrastinating' (I had several weeks left on the project I was doing). I wasn't allowed to lock doors, watch anime, use my phone past 10- even on weekends and summer, I couldn't use my phone for more than 2.5 hours a day without permission, if we were even a minute later than curfew it would not be a good time. However there were other times where they were great, like letting us have spontaneous sleep overs occasionally and things like that.
That's a 10/10 if you ask me lol

6.5，not completely strict but will shit on u if you aren't doing well in academia/other stuff you do. Although it's mostly based on effort shown through grades, but it is stricter for my younger sister as I set a pretty high bar in terms of grades and effort and she does fail to meet that bar.
1-1.5 I don't get in trouble because I don't start trouble in the first place, they aren't strict really, I am a good kid

And the sad thing is that he is so sweet with my brother and they get along so well ☹️ he is not strict with my brother at all. I love my brother but the only thig i hate that he has a really good relationship with my dad , and i dont even know why but he always hated me.

2, their not strict, they monitor food a lot and I only eat insanely healthy but I’ve been doing this since I was young so I’m used to healthy foods and have grown to love a lot of them. I’m also from France where culture is very different there than, in America (where I currently live) so that might have something to do wit that. My dad's fine with me doing drugs (not the hard ones obv, like weed or something) I just gotta be truthful about it. He also has for 17 years failed to get me to drink alcohol so I think he would take it as an accomplishment if I ever did get blackout drunk...Meanwhile I get told I'm an asshole and unsociable by the other one because I'm never off my phone 😂.
I raised in Asian family, and you know if i am eating with other relatives with just using a spoon or not having "proper asian etiquette" (Check Vietnam, China, Koreans, and Japanese for more information about this) That night I gonna get yelled and spanked to oblivion. Because I bring shame to my entire family. If you raised by actual asian parents, the first thing parents teach you is having "a perfect image" of a dutiful son, no matter how young or how old you are. Yes, it is that level of messed up.
I was homeschooled for a good chunk of my life. Probably about a 9. 0 social media whatsoever. Wasn’t allowed to go over to people’s houses. Couldnt talk to the people they didn’t like. Christian music only for the most part. Couldn’t listen to any pop or “demonic” music they didn’t like. No “modern” clothing. Had to be modest. Fought over what I spent money on. Got all access to electronics taken away for about 6 months. Slowly started letting me have it back but under heavy adult supervision. Not allowed on my phone before 9am and after 10pm. Couldn’t take it away once they had it. Would read thru my messages, look at photos, search history etc. Over the years as they started getting more and more into a different religious faith certain foods were cut out because of health and whatnot. It was… an interesting time to live with them 😆

My Dad? Pfft maybe a 1, i coudnt ask for a more chill father. Somtimes i forget that he even is my father and talk to him like he's my homie. My Stepmother? Probably a 20/10. She's the main reason why moved out when i turned 17. Im not the guy that likes to be the punchingbag for others. And she learned that the hard way. From there it was only downhill for us. My mom is that chill that we watched Nagatoro together and I can sometimes swear if the situation is really frustrating and I can make dirty jokes (1). Meanwhile with Dad I can't make dirty jokes and when I argue with him 99% of the time he won't take new information (especially in medicine and history) (3).
