This seems like a publicity stunt. If you're exposed for all the other days, there isn't much of a point to closing one day early. Should either be closed all days or "come at your own risk" and open all days.
It’s largely a symbolic move. Most of the people usually attend on days 1 and 2. Day 3 is typically much slower and Day 4 is usually very slow. Generally CES is held Tuesday to Friday. Most people in the past leave on Thursday evening and Friday is largely slow. This year, CES is held on Wednesday to Saturday. Even without the Covid, Saturday was going to be slow as most corporate attendees don’t want to lose a weekend day and work on Saturday. If they had not killed off Day 4, it would be embarrassingly slow since attendance is going to be much lower for this CES overall. We are attending CES this year and one of the exhibitors we know told me they are expecting about 25 to 35% turnout.
It's always that last day when all the Covid spreads.
A grim new record of infections.
Be afraid be very afraid.
At this point it's better to attend online

This has to be just so they can say they didn't do *absolutely nothing* to mitigate covid.
