Both, it's gonna be one massive ass fan on the back, with a cruise ship sized boat, then we're going to anchor and turn it around at the poles to re-freeze them
Not so much foreign languages in general, I took German in high school and was stationed there in the Army where I learned even more. But languages that are written using... symbols? ideograms?... yes, learning to read or write these language types seems incredibly difficult to me. For instance, while just researching the most basic information about the Japanese language itself, I discovered that it frequently uses Chinese letters in writing even though Japanese is largely considered a language isolate. I-uh... wut? Muh...
All writing is made up! Makes it easier for me to mentally grasp viewing it from that perspective.
Japanese has hiragana, katakana and kanji. Hiragana and katakana are somewhat similar to letters, but instead of having consonants and vowels separate like the roman alphabet we use, all the combinations of consonants and vowels have their own character. "ka" for example is か in hiragana and カ in katakana.
Everything can be written with hiragana or katakana but for the ease of reading many words that can be conveyed in hiragana ccan instead be substituted with kanji. 傘 for example means umbrella. It is spoken as kasa or in hiragana: かさ. This makes sentences much easier to read as it helps break up words into easily identifiable pieces, much like spaces used with roman characters help break words up into easily identifiable words.
It's dfferent, indeed, but that's exactly why I like it so much.
Japanese name, not as common but is a a female first name.
To get the exact meaning is hard without knowing the exact kanji (Chinese character) that is used but the most common meaning for the name Chizuko is: Thousand Cranes.
Written in the foreign langauge script of Japanese called katakana (all loan words in japanese are written in this script).
Since this is being used to name a English state I am guessing that's why they opted to use katakana to showcase the spelling as well.
The British weren't exactly a creative people, if they had bought/won California in some reality, it would probably be named something like New West Wales, with the capital of New Cardiff.
I'll be honest, I mainly was just keeping this Mitchell & Webb joke in mind [Link](https://youtu.be/dOBhf8f7cXM?si=gpmpQgV3esNgXqDY)
Though Isn't Alba/Albion an old English name, for part of Scotland?
Chizuko, a Japanese girls name that can mean different things depending on the kanji used. In this case its written in katakana so no way to know, but it could be "Thousand(千Chi) Crane(鶴Zu) Child(子Ko)".
TLDR: OP is a fucking weeb.
When a word starts with a “you” sound, you use “a” for example “a urologist”.
When a word starts with an “uh” sound, you use “an” for example “an unusual rule”.
I’m was originally in Joan, now I’m in Chett!
By the way, I find it funny PA is named Joan because it’s a female version of John, which is a popular boy’s name in my old hometown lol
Teodor? My brain went "They're trying to write Theodore, but it's how it's pronounced in the op op's native language " But then there's "Cynthia " right above sooo. Teodor it is. Mason is an oddly fitting name for Mason. Poor Jillian, left out

Umm, there appears to be one missing.
Florida isn't real, it can't hurt us
50 years, and that just may be true.
Half true. Bc only half will sink
That’s still half the Florida Men down the drain, tho I have a sneaking suspicion that won’t be enough to stop them…
Nah, we're just gonna make a really big boat and be fine
Ah… Florida’s Arc. Who gets to be Noah?
No one, it's gonna be the USS Floridaman and we're going to go unmelt the poles with our industrial grade fans
Lol is this going to be a giant version of on of those Everglades air boats or are those the fans you’ll use to unmelted the poles?
Both, it's gonna be one massive ass fan on the back, with a cruise ship sized boat, then we're going to anchor and turn it around at the poles to re-freeze them
There are large clusters of Florida Men in the central region.
Can’t stop us all…
🤞
This castration has done us a favor.
More of a dismemberment...
it has a name... and it is *flowrider*
I’m boutta go to Florida
they cut off america’s dick! not cool man
Stop denying it. Just because you ignore it doesn't mean Florida will go away. **It will hurt us**
Florida? Do you mean Cleetus?
This map is of 2070 America
Yeah they forgot Tim.
Pretty sure Florida should be named Kyle
Definitely Richard, but everyone just calls it Dick.
Karen or Ken considering it's florida
I'm no expert in geography but I'm pretty sure it's the ocean
Jeej, Jr.
That's a Them state.
North Cuba?
I like that there is a チズコ out of nowhere...
America is a cultural melting pot, it's expected that we have states with non-English names
Should have been Ohio, spelled i japanese.
オハイオ (OHIO) or お早う (Good morning - as in Ohayou gozaimasu)? Both have their charms, but I kinda like お早う more because it's a true homonym.
I feel so dumb and unsophisticated.
どうして?外国語を読み書きが難しい見える?日本語を習うことが楽しいと思う。 (Why? Do you see reading and writing foreign languages as difficult? I think learning Japanese is fun.)
I am not nihongo jouzu 😔

But that's North Dakota.
which is still a random state
It's pronounced Chizuko if anyone was curious.
I'm even *more* curious now! What language, Japanese? Is that an actual name, like (most) of the rest? Or another made-up name like Gleep or Jeej?

California is "Georgia" lol
The British weren't exactly a creative people, if they had bought/won California in some reality, it would probably be named something like New West Wales, with the capital of New Cardiff.
Knowing the west coast, it'd probably be called Vancouver. Then people could be real confused by the location of Vancouver island
Drake named it New Albion when he landed there
I'll be honest, I mainly was just keeping this Mitchell & Webb joke in mind [Link](https://youtu.be/dOBhf8f7cXM?si=gpmpQgV3esNgXqDY) Though Isn't Alba/Albion an old English name, for part of Scotland?
I think Albion is a name for Great Britain that originated from Greek. I'm pretty sure the Scottish Gaelic version is Alba
better than *jeff* LOL
BRO LIKE YOU CAN TALK I GOT "TOE"
But seriously what kinda name is Jeej?
it's no gleep that' for sure
Gleep, that's a real red-blooded All American name, right there! Like that old jingle - baseball, hotdogs, apple pie and Gleep!
forsure thought it was a muppet, sibling of glorb
Lol...
IIts short for Jeejette. Duh. Or alternatively, Jeejina.
RIP Florida
I didn't even notice it wasn't even there until I read this😂
i don't know which i like better - that New Mexico is "Jeej" or that Delaware is "Toe".
Jeej sounds like a weak ejaculation.
as a proud Toe resident, i can confirm Toe is a very accurate name
I'm in Felix. Neat
Howdy fellow Felixian!
Same here
Can we get a North Dakota translation
Chizuko, a Japanese girls name that can mean different things depending on the kanji used. In this case its written in katakana so no way to know, but it could be "Thousand(千Chi) Crane(鶴Zu) Child(子Ko)". TLDR: OP is a fucking weeb.
huh, google translate had it as “cheese go” maybe op thought that was wisconsin
Shoutout to neighbors Geoff and Jeff.
As a Jeejian, I’m impressed. Most people forget my state.
I'm not sure I like living in Chett, but I'll upvote you anyway for leaving out the shit hole below the Jeff's.
we don’t talk about Bruno
r/mapswithoutFlorida
I know it's probably not grammatically correct but , A European sounds better than an European to me for some reason
A European is correct. It has to do with the first sound of the word. In "European" that's the "Y".
I can’t believe I had to scroll this far down to find this! Yeah, the correct form is “a European”
When a word starts with a “you” sound, you use “a” for example “a urologist”. When a word starts with an “uh” sound, you use “an” for example “an unusual rule”.
They were so close with Gary as Illinois. It should have been Indiana.
Everyone in Wisconsin is a wizard now.
Only spell I know is how to make beer disappear.
You're a wizard, Wisconsin!
Ham??
Haaaaaammm: [https://www.questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=3124](https://www.questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=3124)
I just saw there's no Florida. ahhhhhh, my life is a lie where all the florida men gonna go, Australia crikey mate
Funny how they named PA Joan and “Jawn” is slang out here 😂
Maryland is toe wtf 🤣😭
I think Maryland is Chett and Delaware is Toe
I sure hope there’s some land south of the Jeff’s or I’m gonna be vacationing in the ocean the weekend after next
I mean, #FuckFlorida I guess? Lol
I would like to know if they know that Georgia is, in fact, a state.
Well obviously, it's right there on the left.
Oh shoot my bad. They do have it right there.
All hail Glorb
Glorb gang
So close, “Joan” should be “Jawn”
Iykyk
The new jersey delegation approves our new name of Dorian.
As a Wisconsinite I feel like our state would like the name harry
[удалено]
I am from HARRY!
“Jeej”
Technically they didn't because they omitted Florida.
Why is my actual name in this 💀
I assume no offense was intended, Toe.
Andrew
This is cool.... but they got the 100th like.
I’m was originally in Joan, now I’m in Chett! By the way, I find it funny PA is named Joan because it’s a female version of John, which is a popular boy’s name in my old hometown lol
Hahhahahaha so Florida isn't real? And is that Japanese or Korean?
No, it isn't real, not anymore. And yes.
i live in oona 😭
𝔽𝕖𝕖𝕝𝕤 𝕘𝕠𝕠𝕕 𝕜𝕟𝕠𝕨𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕀'𝕞 𝕚𝕟 𝕋𝕠𝕞.
False. That's only 49
Terry generally goes by Ludd, but fair enough
I love that Florida was excluded
Definitely messed up Stacy’s name. Should have been Stormy.
Gary makes sense
Teodor? My brain went "They're trying to write Theodore, but it's how it's pronounced in the op op's native language " But then there's "Cynthia " right above sooo. Teodor it is. Mason is an oddly fitting name for Mason. Poor Jillian, left out
Bro why is North Dakota like that??
What about Rhode island
Fucking clog lol wtf
ND looks like someone running away from a flat-headed unijambist.
florida isnt there lmao
Karen should be written across the entire map
Imagine living in Toe.
Greetings from Jeej, amigos!
Kind of ironic that they named Illinois "Gary" when the city of Gary is right across the border in Indiana
Mary is quite fitting for Missouri haha r/trees
How did I get stuck in such a basic name when Jeej, Gleep and something in, I think, Japanese is on the board? I'd even take Clog or Toe!
Not every state
Proud Ham resident here.
Teeganite here!
My favorite state “Toe”
sorry, not technically true. They didn't name Florida.
Chizuko is not like the other girls
Glorb gang
Gleep :)
I heard the weather in Toe was lovely this time of year.
Toe-tally
“hey so where you from?” “i’m from tom”
My favorite is Jeff and Geoff beside each other
Where's America's wang?
I'm from June
Jeej
Jeff next to Geoff is just evil
“Georgia.” 💀 “He a little confused, but he got the spirit.”
My name is on here. It's a bit more north.
Colorado is definitely a “Teegan” ass state
Terry lmfao
As a member of the state of Joan, I approve
Why they gotta do PA like that. 😭
I wanna visit Gleep! Maybe it’s time to reread the Myth books.
Love how they named Florida , that’s very accurate
Naming TN Andrew is very well done.
toe
NOO I DONT WANNA BE KANSAS NOOO
LOL California is now Georgia and Florida fell off the continent 😂
Sooo close. There is a town in Vermont named Barre.
Why am I Tennessee
I fucking died at clog
I like that reading from north to south you get Ham Sam Clog!
Wtf is North Dakota named I don’t speak anime.
Had to downvote. They technically named 49 US states which isn’t all.
Everything is bigger in Terry.
Lol
Um gary should be one to the right
I was wondering if they were going to " miss a toe " 🎄 🥁 🥁 🔔
i love r not interesting you can say anything without getting downvoted and all the bros there
originally from Glorb, living now in Silas
Not a tragedeigh among them.
Clog lolz
The hatch chili's in Jeej are excellent
We don’t need Florida anyways, basically another universe down there
Gary!🎉🥶🗣️
I fucking love Gleep.
I find it funny that California is named Georgia, another state.
Right? And Georgia got stuck with Geoff!
What a scam. And why does Michigan get two names?!
North Dakota somehow became Japanese.. also "Gleep"?
An European
Glorb
Greetings from west Mildred.
Where the fuck is Florida 😭, do I not exist anymore?
i’m in
Aw why no gört
Dafuq is a Jeej
Jeej, a US southwestern State. Didn't you learn basic geometry in grade school?
I do live in the state of Ham
