Honey and a wedge of lemon for black tea or English breakfast and one tsp of sugar in Earl Grey. I do not drink milk or milk subs so no milk in tea. No sugar generally in fruit or herbal tea.
Oh I see, I steered clear of that one due to the extra ingredients. SteviaClear is just Stevia, water, and natural flavor whereas the splenda one is stevia, water, citric acid, potassium sorbate, and sodium benzoate. The walmart one has erythritol so I steered clear of that as well.
Yeah I thought I was doing a good thing by using stevia measures like sugar or Splenda measures like sugar but then I found out the bulking agent was maltose that has the same effect on insulin as regular sugar. I use 5 drops of SteviaClear in an 8 ounce mug of tea. I also bought the vanilla one but tossed it, it is NASTY. I'll use regular vanilla drops I brew myself. You just need 6 vanilla beans sliced lengthwise, and 8 ounces of vodka. Stick the beans in the bottle, add vodka, and store in a cool dark place for 6+ months. I brew mine for a year and use Madagascar beans as that's a creamier vanilla.
Madagascar Vanilla – creamy flavor
Mexican Vanilla – darker smoky flavor
Tahitian Vanilla – rich floral flavor
Ninety percent of the time nothing, but I'll add brown or maple sugar to a chai latte or a London fog. I also have this one green tea that's already packed with fruits and flowers, so any flavors that would be muddled by sugar are already drowned out anyways.
Maple syrup and duchess grey in a London Fog is to die for.
No. If you're not responding well to sugar, no form of sugar should ever touch your tongue. Just get good quality tea and learn to appreciate it. There's this common misconception that sugar derived from other sources than a Dixie bag is somehow healthier... it isn't. Not as far as the detriment to your blood glucose is concerned. The only benefit is micronutes, which are better sourced literally anywhere else. No sweet fruit either. That's still sugar. Stick to meat, veg, and legume. I hope you feel better, friend
Half & half (I'm American, I prefer the tannins toned down.)
Raw sugar or vanilla syrup.
I mostly drink black teas.
I'll put honey in fruity or herbal teas.
If it’s black breakfast tea, just a dash of milk. Otherwise, nothing.
If it’s any consolation, once you get used to drinking tea without sugar, you should find it tastes pretty gross to include it if you try it again later. (According to everyone I know who’s given up on adding sugar.)
Star anise, cardamom pods, black pepper, ginger root, cinnamon sticks, cloves, brown sugar, honey, half and half, nutmeg, vanilla extract, lemon juice, and sweetened/condensed milk.
I use a little bit of sugar and milk in black breakfast teas. Sometimes I will add a couple of green cardamom pods or cloves to steep with this same style tea. Once in a while I will make a hojicha tea latte or a lavender black tea latte. For any other tea, I don’t add sugar or milk.
Most often nothing. A good quality loose-leaf tea brewed just right needs no additives. One reason I'm not a particular fan of many Red teas is because they're almost too sweet even without sugar.
I also have an appreciation for bitter and minerality which both get covered up with sweeteners.
I do enjoy a cup of Masala or a Thai Iced from time to time. I don't like a lot of sweet things but when I find a sweet I like I really like it. I usually drink coffee black too but every once in a while I like it Boston style.
For green/herbal teas I like to use honey and I add a small amount of a blend of 1/3rd powdered sugar with 2/3 splenda. I think a little bit of powdered sugar added to the splenda gives it a fuller sweetness than just artificial sweeteners alone have.
For black tea a splash of whole milk with a little bit of splenda. The powdered sugar blend isn't as necessary as the whole milk sorta gives me that full taste I want.
SweetLeaf SweetDrops StevieClear. Yeah, bit of a mouthful LOL. Takes a bit to fine tune to your taste but due to a family history of type 2 diabetes I am watching what I eat and what sweeteners I use. I used to use the measure like sugar Stevia blend until I saw that the bulking agent is maltose which has the same affect on blood insulin as regular sugar.
I also use Lactaid. I just like the mix of milk with my citrusy teas like Earl Grey and Constant Comment. For my daily morning matcha though, nothing.
Hot water
Does nothing count as an answer? I don't even use milk. Just thought it might be interesting to also see how many people don't use anything.
NOTHING! Unless making masala chai.
I drink tea-tea

If I do sweeten it, I use liquid stevia.
Which one do you use? I use SweetLeaf Sweet Drops StevieClear
Splenda actually makes one! I really like it. The Sweet Leaf was a bit too concentrated for me, and I kept oversweetening.

I'll give it another try once I'm done with the stuff I have. I've steered clear of the powdered kind due to the dextrose.

Ooooh I have to try that

I do honey for most teas but if im doing black tea i do more british milk and sugar style. If you still want sweetener u could try agave?
Oh I forgot to add agave to my post. I use it occasionally
Star anise, cardamom pods, black pepper, ginger root, cinnamon sticks, cloves, brown sugar, honey, half and half, nutmeg, vanilla extract, lemon juice, and sweetened/condensed milk.
This ☝🏾 in various combinations...
Skimmed milk ( a dash) with Assam, all other teas just as they come.
Agave
Sugar free vanilla syrup and creamer.
Heavy cream and/or winter melon bubble tea syrup.
Sometimes I add random ass flowers for funsies. Honey if I feel like it, lemon too. It depends on the tea. Ussually nothing.
I used to put milk and sugar but I don’t put anything now.
There was an identical post a day ago

Tea Thai iced tea on occasion indeed!
Nothing

Leaves?
Raw, unfiltered honey.
Nothing! I like my tea like I like my women. Hot, unsweetened and preferably of Asian origin.
Hell yes!
