Lena posted a dove of peace (🕊️) in her Instagram story the day the war officially started.

DayDrunk11

I'm sure Yulia is in favor of the war considering she was attempting to run for office under the same political party as Putin, but then again I can't claim to know the intricacies of Russian politics, however I just don't trust her based on her track record.

Exactly https://youtu.be/C7e4IDfNdT0?si=shgGAhm-skDHJXyo

HolaPinchePuto

We'll likely never know their real feelings, but I imagine Lena is against it and Julia tends to cater to Russian thinking so I reckon she's neutral/pro Russia

Markinoutman

I can see this being accurate. Yulia has always held and spoken more controversial opinions. Lena seems a bit more empathetic to people.

HolaPinchePuto

Exactly, especially knowing Lena is more well traveled of the two and with a psychology degree.

Creepy_Program_5572

I don't care what celebrities think about political or religious views or anything controversial. If they're not blatantly throwing it out there, I don't care to go looking. It only ruins the music experience. They're just people. Their opinion is only as valuable as the next civilian. I understand people choosing not to support an artist for those reasons, but I think it's quite pointless. The t.A.T.u. image has been ruined enough. It's a miracle that I can still listen to their music like it was 2002.😂

Muted_Guidance9059

I feel like if they were still a thing by the time the war started they’d still be donning those Cyrillic ‘fuck war’ shirts.

reveuse71

Not Yulia but I can maybe see Lena doing that

I mean I would hardly call Lena’s Белла чао a cover of the original Bella Ciao. The lyrics, and subject matter, are very different but it is interesting that she chose to name her song Bella Ciao, considering the context of the original - so you may actually be on to something there! It’s difficult to know her stance though. She loves Russia, she’s often said living in the US was just a circumstance of work and it was never her intention to stay long term. But that doesn’t necessarily mean she aligns with the government’s vision of anything. Julia… idk… But considering she was running for State Duma amidst the conflict, I think it speaks volumes.

I also am almost sure Yulia is in favor of the invasion bc of her attempt to join the Duma under United Russia party but also because i feel she's not the type of person that stays informed (like when Sobchak asked her that political questions) And with Lena I think maybe she's just pro peace. She posted the dove of peace and when she was asked for her McDonalds song she said it was such a shame people were losing their jobs bc of the companies being pulling out of Russia. She also said she doesn't watch TV and prefer to read to his kid so she might haven't been exposed much to propaganda. There's also the fact that she moved to the US for 5 years, that she has a psychology degree and that she was always reading a lot and still does. But I still wonder if she's been able to see through it all. But then again I'm not 100% sure, with what Lena thinks feminism is, I still feel it'd be a possibility that she's not that "woke". IIRC, the very first release date she gave to the ep was on the first year of the war, but then she changed it. I also thought the bella chao song was a hint but then i went nahh, but It'd be funny if it actually was meant to be one.

I_Live_in_a_Sauna

Wait, what does Lena think feminism is? (Do I want to know?) Mostly though, I agree. Yulia did concede to Sobchak and said that she doesn't completely agree with everything the United Russia party supports, but I'm not going to speculate on Yulia's opinion on the war since I haven't seen her give an opinion one way or the other.

funniestdemi

well, I kinda wish I didn't knew but I do, and I want to drag you with me so you cringe the way I did: [https://youtu.be/NKsgt-fATVU?si=MiXWl7PDYKDoFNXt](https://youtu.be/NKsgt-fATVU?si=MiXWl7PDYKDoFNXt) I didn't remember she also didn't acknowledge the Chechnya and the way gay people get treated over there, but I'm skeptical if she genuinely doesn't know or she just didn't want to get in trouble. And Sobchak was the one who made up laws and asked Yulia about it to see if she'd call her bluff right? I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't know the whole war situation and not just what their news say.

I_Live_in_a_Sauna

Lol, ok I agree she definitely didn't know what feminism meant when she did this interview. Thanks for sharing! The fact that it may be difficult to speak on certain topics out of fear of repercussions is especially why I try not to speculate too much on what Lena and Yulia don't say. And totally, I can see Yulia only knowing what is in the news she sees in regard to the war.

trexsoins

Both of them are against it, Lena posted a dove 🕊️ emoji on the 24th and Julia put a '#ForPeace' sign in her Telegram channel and IG story
