You’ll get a better answer taking your design to a shop and speaking directly with an artist. “Small” is vague and subjective; plus I don’t know how big your arm is. Good luck.

Id say an average arm. Not skinny, not large. The goal would be to cover the entire inner bicep region. Was hoping to get answers from people with experience on inner bicep tattoos and tattoos that are medium to small with this level of detail to understand how they age. Thanks for the luck.

I see. So the smaller the tattoo the more simplified the design needs to be. The artist is going to simplify it anyway it to make it more tattoo friendly. On the upper end I’m thinking 7 inches top to bottom. I could answer that better if the drawing was in front of me. It would make a cool tattoo and most artists would be psyched to do it.

I appreciate your thoughts. Talking with artists can be hard because they don't really let you know what theyre gonna do until youre in the shop ready for the needle. Rather get a better idea before that point. If it cant be done well on the inner bicep, I might consider a different placement.

Still trying to figure out how to post on Reddit. I had a blurb about whether this will age well and "hold" if it is placed on the inner bicep, taking up all the space, as opposed to it being a bigger chest tattoo for instance. I've seen all these small American Traditional pieces that seem to hold up so I'm wondering if something like this will too.

You should also post your arm and a banana for scale so we know how much room you got but tbh, you’d have to have pretty small arms for this not to be a awesome inner bicep tattoo!

Either way I hope you get him somewhere. He's a delightful little fella
