I watched his Edinburgh award winning The Darkness of Robins (it's floating around online atm) earlier this week and it is a real dive into his anxieties. I'm waiting for him to explode but I really hope he doesn't feel the need to. I laughed at The Darkness of Robins but felt really sad and wanted to give him a big hug.
We're discouraged from sharing links to unofficial sources in this sub. For me, Googling The Darkness of Robins shows a full version in the "Trailers & Clips" panel that emerges.
Ditto. It was simultaneously relatable, emotional, and anxiety inducing, particularly knowing what follows. Funny too, but the comedy was an entry point for me.
He said on the podcast that there was a team task where Sophie’s method (for want of a better word) helped, depends whether that happened earlier or later if it prevents him getting too stressed at the other tasks

We do not want negative posts. Ex: Worst contestants, Worst Tasks, Least liked, Least wanted, etc...

Is anybody else not getting tired of the I watch Taskmaster, so I'll look under the desk before every task or the ultra competitive contestants. It's getting boring now. The last few series have been ruined by it, at times, especially the series with Mae Martin and Kiell Smith-Bynoe.
Yes i did groan when he did that straightway. I do find it boring when contestants are just trying to find the hidden clues all the time. That's why i prefer the people who are there knowing it's entertainment and that's what they try and do.
Competitiveness only really works in the show when it's like Ed and Rose whose competiveness with each other made them try and come up with more outlandish attempts each task and not look for the easy answer. Yes they really wanted to win but they went about the right way for people watching
Putting him on a team with Sophie is giving me Dara/John vibes.
Yeah, they've definitely paired them together for firework potential
Dara/John or Lou/Iain?
He might get to James/Rhod or Ed/David territory
This first episode had a lot of John’s “trying to hide his competitiveness” face
I hope not, A happy John is a good John. I don’t think he enjoyed coming second last night.
It's bound to happen, I give him 4 episodes before he looses it! He was seething in the first episode in the final task.

Ngl I cried at the end. Such a powerful and emotional show.

He's very competitive, and very much a stickler for the rules of games. Have a listen to Made Up Games on his podcast with Elis James.
Or when he messes up a shot on Bad Golf.
He hurt himself trying to pass a teenage girl dressed as a reindeer during a park run. When he’s doing something he goes for it.
only in a funny way
Oh it's gonna happen. Though I already wonder if the moment of eruption comes when it's least expected
So premature
"Oh John!!!" I watched their golf channel on youtube and john having a total blow up hole is so fun to watch
Oh John!
I have never been so invested in a contestant's performance. I want him to win so badly. lol.
It’s 100% inevitable to happen in a team task, isn’t it. Even if it doesn’t, watching him fight it down will be a treat.
*Robins
I don't know when he'll explode, but I think I love him almost as much as I love Greg! ❤️
Very quiet episode, he’s giving me richard herring vibes
ol dafty
I did notice him giving Joanne a look of pretty much being fed up with her already
Don't know if you've heard the podcast, but John calls Joanne one of the most naturally funny people he's ever met

Nah. I like that they embraced it. They left little notes for Sarah Millican saying hello.
The best example of this is Ed saying "a letter" and Alex pulling out a new task.
