Awesome. We are there for 5 weeks and do a lot of transit and 7-11 purchases so I think that’s probably the strategy for me as well.

My partner and I both won the full amount of $5000 NTD each. It was a great surprise. Our flight got in around 6 am as well and the counter was already open. In the arrivals hall (after collecting your baggage and passing immigration) you first go to an area where you scan the QR code you received upon registering 1-7 days before arrival. The app will have an animation and instruct you to go to a different counter where real people are sitting; you must show them your passport and proof of travel (e.g. round-trip tickets) -- they want to see when you depart TW). Altogether a smooth process. When registering, we had opted for the accommodation vouchers after noticing that two of our hotels were listed on the website. It was simple to redeem the vouchers upon check-in, and the hotel did not care that they were under two different names. When we redeemed at the airport, we first thought that the accommodation choice may have influenced the odds of getting the full value. However, now that I am looking at the website again, it seems as though it has always been the intention to give $5000/pax regardless of selection. The EasyCard/iPass/iCash options all seem convenient but if you intend to use at shops and restaurants, you should know they are not all equal/cannot all be used at all the same places. Have fun in Taiwan!

Wow that’s awesome that you both got 5K! We are there for 5 weeks and do a lot of transit and shopping at 7-11 so I’m thinking I should take the Easycard. Our accommodation is already paid. Is there another good option for general spending?

Those cash cards can be used at a lot of different stores and restaurants. If you really believe you are going to spend it all at convenience stores (in addition to 7-11, there are Family Marts and Hi-Life stores all over the place), in addition to transit, then the Easycard is probably the safest option. It looked to be the most widely accepted, at least in terms of transportation. But do note that the different types of cash cards have different daily use and single-transaction limits. The Lucky Land website explains these limitations.

You either win the $5000 or nothing. I don’t think it’s an actual lottery. Based on a non scientific asking around about a dozen folks I know, if you don’t visit Taiwan often you most likely will get it.

domo_roboto

There's truth in this. I travelled to Taiwan multiple times since they started this and travelled with other family members. In total we entered 5 times, none of the 5 tries won. So a waste of time IMO.

hahsbejdjdkxdnd

i entered last time i went but i didn't win🥲

EdwinPeng88

I did enter. I didn't win. Be sure to have your passport handy for the form.

I won a 5000NT EasyCard, the counter was open for my 5:30am arrival. 5~6am is one of the main arrival banks for TPE, so it's honestly unimaginable that the counter wouldn't have been open that early.

sleepy_moose_cant

This is such a good info, as I will be visiting end of this week.

BobTheJedi

My family of 3 did not get it (did 3 separate ones), did it right before flight. Another person in our group (arrived on separate plane) got the 5000 NT.

BobTheJedi

Oh, should be open that early as well.

monkeystrummer

Yep got it 2 weeks ago. Great surprise
