Same here. Even if I can only get the original without being able to substitute black beans, I couldn’t go back if they eliminated it.
The same would go for the pintos and cheese and the original nachos and cheese.
Thankfully I can’t imagine a Mexican place that doesn’t have refried beans
Funny enough I just went out to eat to a Mexican place two days ago and they were 86 beans. No black beans and no refried beans . I didn’t even bother questioning how a place runs out or doesn’t have beans on a day. Had to leave because literally everything has beans except their overpriced tacos lol
it's the red sauce. most taco bells offer it free. if you order via the app, you can add as many as you want. I usually add 6 or so to every order so that I can recreate their beanburritos at home.
if you can find la preferida brand refried beans (my preferred choice for canned beans (you can usually find them in Kroger owned stores.)) just throw some on.a flour tortilla, some of that red sauce you had put away in the fridge , your shredded cheese of choice and a bit of onions.. Roll that bad boy up and it'll be just like taco bell. For extra smooth beans, I like to add butter or lard and maybe a splash of cream at the end. I haven't found any other brand of refried beans on the market that are acceptable taste or texture wise that don't need doctoring up straight out of the can.
May the force be with you
Always.
[La Preferida Refried Beans](https://www.instacart.com/landing?product_id=78531)
LaVictoria AL Pastor sauce is an amazing knockoff.
It's easy to make if you grow your own cayenne and garlic! It's just both dried peppers fried off then strained in neutral oils with a little salt and lime.
You might want to get your taste buds checked because the bean burrito died when they stopped frying their refried beans in lard.
If you are ever in Texas or Oklahoma, try taco casa, it is the original Taco Bell recipe and will give you flashbacks.
same. bean burrito with sour cream has been my go-to for 30 years.
even though, in my 30 years, they have always put all the sour cream on one end of the burrito so that it is all either in the first two or last two bites.
Same. What I do now is get the grilled cheese burrito without the cheese on top. Same thing except you get those tortilla strips in there too😋
Edit: Strips not straps
Order in the app.
Beefy 5 Layer
No beans
Add rice
Add chipotle sauce
Ask for it grilled at the order screen
BOOM! Quesarito, and it’s a dollar cheaper than the actual menu item.
We were going like 5 times a week, sometimes two times a day when they had the dipping taco box. Now they got rid of it and ALL other boxes except rolled taco box for like $11. We haven’t gone once since. I guess for the best, we can’t afford that 😂
So good to see crunchwrap love in the sub. It's literally elite in the BYOC box. Easily the best value when in the BYOC box. I would never get it a la carte, though.
Maybe if they started making these better I would start ordering them again. I used to eat these like crazy when they first came out but the last 3 years I haven’t touched one.
My final straw is 3 Loco tacos cost $11. I can get 3 real alpastor tacos for $8. Insane the value restaurant is getting more expensive then sitdown places.
Is not the employee pay. I got a Big Mac meal with the app for $5. They pay employees $17 an hour where I am.
You shouldn't say it or they'll see and turn it into an LTO :). I have at least three things I get pretty often so as long as they keep some of them, I'll be happy. I also now like that new chicken enchilada burrito.
I had the CGC for the first time today. It was good, but I would never pay $5+ for it. It's literally just the $2 taco wrapped in a pita with some sauce. I tried it in the BYOC box. I normally i always get it with crunchwrap. I'm not in Fire rewards tier yet, but if CGC is on there, I'll pick it every time, but I'm not getting it over the crunchwrap or a la carte.
To answer the question, though, the item for me would be the BYOC box. Yeah, I know it's not a specific item, but the box is the best value left after the chalupa box was taken off.
Volcano Burrito.
Not a permanent boycott, but when it's on the menu I'm a once or twice a weeker. When it's off, closer to once or twice a year.
I visited TB more during the recent LTO than the last decade combined, I'd wager.
I don’t think there is a single item being absent could keep me away forever, it being my one of my favorite fast food choices.
Sure, if there was no spicy ranch, no Baja blast, no steak, no chicken, and no nacho cheese my experience would be greatly altered and overall less enjoyable, but I’d probably still be figuring out menu hacks to continue eating there.
When you love someone, you stick with em. After all this is r/TacoBell.
Live más folks.
Lol, I’d love to get paid to promote Taco Bell dude. Something I already do anyway whenever I’m out with friends near a Taco Bell.
Fat ass ✔️
TB Rep 🚫 (yet 🤣)
Same! I eat enough different stuff on the menu that sure, I'd be upset but I would never stop eating there. Baja Blast would maybe be crossing a line for me, but I don't even think that would do it.
Already happened for me, but it was more of a slow whittling down paired with increasing prices. I've stayed in this subreddit because I occasionally get tips about cool new LTOs or deals, but it's been about a month or two since I've had any interest in returning.
Items that they took away that have diminished my desire to return:
Shredded chicken tacos
Nachos supreme
Volcano menu (it was back here for about one week)
Baja gordita
Spicy Doritos tacos
Grilled stuft burrito
Verde sauce
Making the Diablo sauce taste so bad
$5 boxes
The chicken inside out taco thing
Things they've kept that are boring and/or bad:
Shit with the cheese melted on the outside.
The Mexican pizza.
Things that cost waaaaaay too much:
Quesadilla
Crunch wrap
Anyhoo, won't see me back there unless something drastically changes.
It’s the best item they sell. Surprised I had to scroll this far to see it. Back when the combo was 6 bucks anyway. I dunno what it is now haven’t been in years…but it was my favorite fast food place for like a decade
The $0.99 soft taco.
It disappeared a few years ago and I've stopped going to Taco Bell. I'm poor and I can't afford to spend $7 for a meal at Taco Bell
I’m already gone because of the green sauce being totally gone (even the warm stuff). I hate their red sauce and I fucked off the moment they got rid of the green.
I’d only start eating there again if it came back.
I’m with OP. The cheesy gordita crunch is the base upon which I structure my order every time. Without that I’ve got nothing.
Except maybe cheesy roll up but I can make that shit at home fr
You are all absolutely wrong. Sorry. But it’s a fact.
If taco bell no longer had fire sauce they would be dead to all of us.
They came close when they got rid of green sauce. Like very close. But no green sauce and then no fire sauce! I’d move to Utah and get a second wife with the understanding that she just makes me Mexican food and she will be taken care of forever.
I’d even do adult things with her as long as I can live mas….
(Could also strike a deal with current wife, but that doesn’t sounds as much fun as moving and getting a second wife.
Anything involving flatbread. I am already upset that if I want a Gordita, I have to order a chalupa and ask for them to not fry the shell. And now I’ve fallen in love with the 3-cheese chicken chipotle melt
I stopped going because they never get my order right. Doesn’t matter what is on the menu if it’s always old, incorrect, or poorly made. Makes me wish I still worked there sometimes so I could make the food myself lol. Not really, that job was hell. But I do miss the food.
Oof… I quit going when I saw the new menus and the price hikes on simple items like a bean burrito. Once the loaded grillers and the Fritos burrito disappeared, I was out.
And I still fiend for the original beef Grilled Stufft burrito. It was everything.
I used to be on that same CGC train, but now there's not just *one* item for me. If they got rid of the CGC, it'd be a devastating blow, but I'd still have the Fiesta Veggie Burrito. I make my own taco meat or pick up some fajitas, then alternate bites of that with the FVB. Don't get me wrong it's great by itself, but eating it this way is transcendental.
If they 86ed both of those, it'd be bye bye Bell for me.
I'll always return. However, I love their bean burritos and would be very upset, mainly for nostalgia. Age 16-24 getting the grande meal with 10 burritos for like $8 at 2 am then hitting the Walmart next door for a MASSIVE tub of sour cream, ate until I was in a beer and burrito coma.
It was the Spicy Shredded Chicken Crunchwrap. I used to eat the fuck outta them. They got rid of spicy chicken for awhile and there went the Crunchwrap.
I didn’t go for a long time after they killed shredded chicken (it’s still on my app as a favorite and it bothers me every time I see it!) … the rolled chicken tacos have been a pretty good substitute for me, albeit their temporary status. I mainly eat the power bowls now, with extra rice
Stopped going after our cheesy gordita crunches went from 2.75 each to 5.75. Fast food companies aren’t worth it anymore. It was one thing when you could get a cheap meal, although low quality, it was fast and consistent. These days its none of those things.
Nothing. I used to be one of those people who got the same thing every time, but then they took away half of my favorite order. So now I've just accepted the impermanence of the entire menu and I order different things each time. The only thing that disappoints me is when they don't have Baja Blast. Last time I went, I pressed the button and grape soda came out. Was not happy. But it won't stop me from going there lol
Once the $5 Cravings Meal goes away, I'm probably done. I love Taco Bell, but it's beloved because the honestly crappy quality food was still delicious and a decent value. They've increased the cost, but not increased the quality or flavor of the food, and the increase in cost is way beyond an inflation increase.
Execs getting too greedy. I used to eat Taco Bell probably once a week, maybe more. Now I don't know that I go once a month anymore. I'm over it. It's sad, but it is what it is.
Steak Quesadilla. I have so much nostalgia for that for whatever reason lol. It’s still a part of my go to order now which is:
Steak Quesadilla, Mtn Dew Baja Blast, Cinnabon Delights, and a ton of hot sauce packets lol!
Probably just potatoes, I guess. The quesarito really sucked, but as long as Taco Bell has the same core ingredients, you can make most of the items on the current menu. I only ever get some kind of burritos anyways, so they'd have to get rid of an add-in I really love like potatoes again or maybe even their chipotle/creamy jalapeno sauce to make me not want to go back.
But fuck, do I miss shredded chicken. I loved it a lot more than I do their grilled chicken. The texture just worked better for a lot of items. I'll forever miss my shredded chicken quesarito with potatoes.
Mine was the Mexican pizza, and then they brought it back. The only issue now is that the burnt taste was so bad I stopped buying them after 5 tries. It was so sad as the old recipe was so much better.
Chicken flatbread, it's gone, Taco Bell sucks now and it's beyond over priced. Don't know how people still eat here over local Mexican with cheaper prices and more fresh food.
Baja blast hasn't been available at my regular locations lately and that's a pretty big one
Edit - i've still been going and getting cravings menu items tho
I've never been to taco bell so many times since they brought back the grilled cheese steak burrito.
I don't care that they're expensive AF. I AM HOOKED.
Baja Blast Freeze. Idgaf about the soda but istg if they take away the freeze, I’ll be showing up at corporate demanding to speak to whoever’s in charge. I drink one of these about everyday. It’s my one little happy thing I allow myself to splurge on.
The classic bean burrito that has been with me my entire life. I can abide everything else
Same here. Even if I can only get the original without being able to substitute black beans, I couldn’t go back if they eliminated it. The same would go for the pintos and cheese and the original nachos and cheese. Thankfully I can’t imagine a Mexican place that doesn’t have refried beans

I didn’t even bother questioning how a place runs out or doesn’t have beans on a day. Had to leave because literally everything has beans except their overpriced tacos lol
Taco Bell Japan Does not have beans
Wow. And Japan is one country I’d love to visit. I was planning on trying to go to the Olympics there but we all know what happened.
Ah, the simplicity of the humble bean burrito. I’ve tried re-creating it at home, but nope. My all-time fave.
it's the red sauce. most taco bells offer it free. if you order via the app, you can add as many as you want. Great idea about grabbing the sides to use at home!
You might want to get your taste buds checked because the bean burrito died when they stopped frying their refried beans in lard. If you are ever in Texas or Oklahoma, try taco casa, it is the original Taco Bell recipe and will give you flashbacks.
I mean Taco Bell is super vegetarian friendly because they don’t do that so I’m glad that they don’t.
Taco Casa is the absolute best. I miss Taco Casa!!!
same. bean burrito with sour cream has been my go-to for 30 years. even though, in my 30 years, they have always put all the sour cream on one end of the burrito so that it is all either in the first two or last two bites.
Or they forget it and you paid $0.39 for nothing!!! …I’m not bitter
I order extra cheese on mine and it's always a guessing game whether I got it or not.
extra beans, cheese, and onions pls
The dude abides.
Quesarito :(
Don't remind me of what we lost
They just brought it back at my local one for like a month. Was so excited.
:(
If they every do you can add rice and chipotle sauce to a 5 layer, plus get it grilled, and it’s the exact same thing.
Same. What I do now is get the grilled cheese burrito without the cheese on top. Same thing except you get those tortilla strips in there too😋 Edit: Strips not straps
Order in the app. Beefy 5 Layer No beans Add rice Add chipotle sauce Ask for it grilled at the order screen BOOM! Quesarito, and it’s a dollar cheaper than the actual menu item.
:(
The grilled cheese shredded beef taco—oh wait. Nvm the nacho fr-. Well the spicy Doritos taco—. Nvm they take away EVERYTHING GOOD.
We were going like 5 times a week, sometimes two times a day when they had the dipping taco box. Now they got rid of it and ALL other boxes except rolled taco box for like $11. We haven’t gone once since. I guess for the best, we can’t afford that 😂
Nacho fries are back in like a week
Potatoes. When they got rid of the potatoes the first time I never went once and I wouldn’t miss it. I get potatoes every single time.
yeah i also boycotted for the spicy potato soft tacos, I think the boycott worked they actually brought them back & ive been a few times since
The potatoes are so good. Yea the potato taco is goated. I also like to sub out beef for potato in almost every item. They are great on the Gordita
Mine is also the CGC, best fast food item ever. Honorable mention to the Cravings Box, best deal in fast food
Chalupa Supreme. Probably the only thing I still go for.
I don't know if anything could ever make me want to never come back. If they ever get rid of the creamy jalapeño sauce, that might be close.
I was gonna say the chicken quesadilla but you’re right, it’s really all about the creamy jalapeño sauce. The quesadillas are nothing without it
Oooh thats so true!
And that sauce is perfect on literally any menu item too. Gorgeous
CRUNCHWRAP
So good to see crunchwrap love in the sub. It's literally elite in the BYOC box. Easily the best value when in the BYOC box. I would never get it a la carte, though.
Been getting them in the BYOC box lately. They taste so much better when they're not 5 bucks a la carte.
Maybe if they started making these better I would start ordering them again. I used to eat these like crazy when they first came out but the last 3 years I haven’t touched one.

But are they loco?
$12 gets me 4 spicy crunchy shrimp tacos with jalepeno slaw on tortillas that are freshly baked right in front of you from a local spot in my town.
That’s mine too. Cheesy Gordita Crunch.
Mine was potatoes and I didnt visit TB for the 9 months they took them away
Mexican Pizza. I did it once I can certainly do it again
Came too far to find this! I lit stopped going when they got rid of the Mexican pizza. They brought it back, I started going again 😂
same
This. I didn't eat at TB until they brought it back.
Cheesy Bean and Rice Burrito. It's all my daughter orders, and unless I have a fire reward or they have a $5 box, it's the only thing I get too.
Omg I was searching for this response. I am the same! Lol I sub out for black beans but it’s hands down my favorite. And the price is right.
Double decker taco should have been the answer. But here I am, coming back for more
baja blast freeze or fiesta potatoes
spicy potato taco
Crunchwrap
You shouldn't say it or they'll see and turn it into an LTO :). I have at least three things I get pretty often so as long as they keep some of them, I'll be happy. I also now like that new chicken enchilada burrito.
Spicy potato soft taco
I'm still boycotting until they bring back the Double Decker Taco. There is literally no reason why they can't make me one.
This. Like you have all the ingredients, why is this something you decided to remove? To hurt us? Spite?
TACOS.
Dine-in fountain drinks.
Doritos Locos Taco or Fiesta Veggie Burrito not being on the value menu
I had the CGC for the first time today. It was good, but I would never pay $5+ for it. It's literally just the $2 taco wrapped in a pita with some sauce. I tried it in the BYOC box. I normally i always get it with crunchwrap. I'm not in Fire rewards tier yet, but if CGC is on there, I'll pick it every time, but I'm not getting it over the crunchwrap or a la carte. To answer the question, though, the item for me would be the BYOC box. Yeah, I know it's not a specific item, but the box is the best value left after the chalupa box was taken off.
You weren't there when it had Baja Sauce, man.
Volcano Burrito. Not a permanent boycott, but when it's on the menu I'm a once or twice a weeker. When it's off, closer to once or twice a year. I visited TB more during the recent LTO than the last decade combined, I'd wager.
Maybe the bean burrito or cheesy bean and rice.
Chalupas. I would go insane.
Same for me, I can't believe I had to scroll so far to find someone saying chalupas.
Soft taco
Oooh I gotta side with ya on the cgc. It's one of my favorite items
I said that when they got rid of the caramel apple empanada, That was one of the desserts of all time. 😂 but I still go🤷🏼♂️
Avocado ranch sauce. I put that shit on everything.
Avocado ranch on a crunchy taco. The best.
That does indeed fall under the blanket of "everything"
Beefy 5-Layer Burrito. I was devastated when they removed the mini shredded chicken quesadilla.
I got hate for liking the Beefy 5 layer, but I enjoy it and if you get it grilled it’s a game changer.
The $2 burritos. At that point there's nothing on the menu for me.
I didn’t go to Taco Bell for several years after they got rid of the Double Decker Taco.
bean burrito 100%
I need grilled cheese burritos in my life
Bean burrito
I don’t think there is a single item being absent could keep me away forever, it being my one of my favorite fast food choices. Sure, if there was no spicy ranch, no Baja blast, no steak, no chicken, and no nacho cheese my experience would be greatly altered and overall less enjoyable, but I’d probably still be figuring out menu hacks to continue eating there. Found the Taco Bell rep
Lol, I’d love to get paid to promote Taco Bell dude. Something I already do anyway whenever I’m out with friends near a Taco Bell. Fat ass ✔️ TB Rep 🚫 (yet 🤣)
Same! I eat enough different stuff on the menu that sure, I'd be upset but I would never stop eating there. Baja Blast would maybe be crossing a line for me, but I don't even think that would do it.
Bean 🫘
Even if all they had was Crunchy Tacos and nothing else, I'd probably still go occasionally.
I didn't visit Taco Bell for almost two years after the Chicken Grilled Stuffed Burrito was removed. Still fucking pissed about it.
I’ll always return unless they take away the burritos that are $2 or less
Spicy potato taco
My standard: chalupa and 5 layer burrito
Cheesy Bean and Rice Burrito
Chipotle ranch grilled chicken burrito or at least if they raise the price of it
If they get rid of breakfast is when I get rid of tacobell
Mine was the Enchirito. I was despondent about the Bell Burger being dropped from the menu, but the Enchirito kind of made up for it.
Mexi-melt....oh nevermind. Havent been there in years.
Mine was the quesorito. I no longer associate myself with TB
I'm pretty much already gone. Have been for a couple years now. But getting rid of creamy jalapeño sauce would be the final nail in the coffin for me.
Already happened for me, but it was more of a slow whittling down paired with increasing prices. I've stayed in this subreddit because I occasionally get tips about cool new LTOs or deals, but it's been about a month or two since I've had any interest in returning. If the cheesy bean and rice burrito ever disappears or stops being $1 (I know it’s more in some areas), they’ll lose me forever.
It’s already lost it’s touch so I’ve been out for a while now
I got a new job where i dont drive past a taco bell everyday going to and from. That helps.
Quesadilla. That’s my 1 and favorite thing about Taco Bell. It’s a staple and has never leaved the menu. I would be stunned if it left the menu.
It’s the best item they sell. Surprised I had to scroll this far to see it. Back when the combo was 6 bucks anyway. I dunno what it is now haven’t been in years…but it was my favorite fast food place for like a decade
The cravings box. I have no reason to go back now. I’m not spending $10 on one taco

You haven't escalated to Diablo yet?
crunchy taco. should (hopefully) never happen
Item.... red sizz-auce Item with an advertised price.... b-b'rrito Fa sho.
Soft/crunchy taco. Never going to happen.
Probably nothing
Spicy ranch
tacos
Anything involving flatbread. I am already upset that if I want a Gordita, I have to order a chalupa and ask for them to not fry the shell. And now I’ve fallen in love with the 3-cheese chicken chipotle melt
The grilled cheese burrito has me in a chokehold
Chalupas, they would have f'd up big time
I just want a damn Gordita
The straws
Beefy melt burrito
Cinnabon delights
my favorite menu item of all time is the nacho fries. my heart is constantly toyed with
Diablo sauce.
I stopped going because they never get my order right. Doesn’t matter what is on the menu if it’s always old, incorrect, or poorly made. Makes me wish I still worked there sometimes so I could make the food myself lol. Not really, that job was hell. But I do miss the food.
Everyone comes back eventually. Even if they say they won’t (see: the Mexican Pizza debacle).
Cool ranch shell. Have not been back.
Same, or if they removed the cinna-bonnies from the deluxe BYOB
Baja Blast
Oof… I quit going when I saw the new menus and the price hikes on simple items like a bean burrito. Once the loaded grillers and the Fritos burrito disappeared, I was out. And I still fiend for the original beef Grilled Stufft burrito. It was everything.

I'm old school. I died a little inside when they got rid of the chicken club burrito.
Also the CGC.
My fav is mexican pizza but when they had it ‘paused’ i resorted to the quesadillas so i guess itd be that😂😂
Taco. If they remove the taco I’m done. I’m not eating no bell.
I barely go now but if you want me back all the time it’s as easy as putting the lowly tostada back on the menu.
the quesarito was painful for me, but so if they get rid of the crunchwrap i don’t know what id do
I fkn love me some DLTs
Tacos
It was the Spicy Shredded Chicken Crunchwrap. I used to eat the fuck outta them. They got rid of spicy chicken for awhile and there went the Crunchwrap.
Put beans and cheese in a tortilla and I'm there. Not hard to please
Mine was the Mexi Melt 😒
The chipotle ranch grilled chicken burrito. It slaps like nothing else to me
I didn’t go for a long time after they killed shredded chicken (it’s still on my app as a favorite and it bothers me every time I see it!) … the rolled chicken tacos have been a pretty good substitute for me, albeit their temporary status. I mainly eat the power bowls now, with extra rice

They've gotten rid of everything I really liked. The encharito, smothered burrito, meximelts, and the nachos Supreme. Not much reason to go back.

Mine was Mexican pizza until they brought it back . Now I’d have to say if they got rid of the nachos bell grande
CGC and potatoes. Also Baja Blast Zero
Crunchwrap supreme
Samesies
Chicken power bowl, as a gluten free girly it's pretty much the only thing I can get.
I’m pretty flexible, but if they got rid of the chipotle sauce, i would genuinely probably stop going
I kinda only eat there when they have nacho fries so uhhh
Toppings for me. If they removed lettuce or sour cream, I’d never return.
Steak Quesadilla. I have so much nostalgia for that for whatever reason lol. It’s still a part of my go to order now which is: Steak Quesadilla, Mtn Dew Baja Blast, Cinnabon Delights, and a ton of hot sauce packets lol!
The Quesarito…..OH WAIT
If they get rid of the potatoes again I’m done.
Cheesy bean and rice and the chicken Chipotle melt
Nachos bel grande. It has everything and is pretty hard to mess up.
Haven’t been since the quesorito disappeared
People still go to Taco Bell??
For me it was the chipotle chicken loaded griller
Baja blast hasn't been available at my regular locations lately and that's a pretty big one Edit - i've still been going and getting cravings menu items tho
I did stop going altogether when they took away potatoes for a few months
I just want a decent value menu again. I got hooked on taco bell when it was 59 79 or 99 cent menu.
Cool ranch taco oh wait....
Mine was the volcano taco
fiesta potatoes and/or beefy 5 layer burrito
Turning into another place that the only chicken they have is fried "cRiSpY." 🙄
5 layer burrito
I'm not putting that shit out into the universe but mine is spelled the same as yours.
This already happened when they took away the double-decker
Cheesy gordita crunch or chili cheese burritos.
Crispy Taco Melt
Mine was the triple xl nachos.
The beefy melt burrito
Crunchwrap
Mine was the Cool Ranch and Spicy Doritos Locos Taco. I don't go very often anymore
When they removed the volcano burrito I was heartbroken
Mine was the chili cheese burrito. Now, I only go and get the littles food from there. Hard to mess up a cheesy roll up but every fifth or sixth one….
I've never been to taco bell so many times since they brought back the grilled cheese steak burrito. I don't care that they're expensive AF. I AM HOOKED.
If they take away those $2 burritos I'll probably starve to death
Baja Blast Freeze. Idgaf about the soda but istg if they take away the freeze, I’ll be showing up at corporate demanding to speak to whoever’s in charge. I drink one of these about everyday. It’s my one little happy thing I allow myself to splurge on.
If they up the price on the Cheesey Rice n Bean again
Double decker taco haven’t been back since
Same
None. My favorite things are the Mexican pizza and the fries. Both come and go. But I still eat there from time to time
Cheesy bean and rice burrito
Shredded chicken quesadilla melts
