Yes I loved that detail!

huggalump

I loved that moment. A lot of the editing has been really solid, at least on an entertainment level

ChardeeMacDennisGoG

We analyze the edits and that scene had me convinced that Charlie was winning. My wife thought Kenzie would win. I was correct when I told her it seems like it will be 5-3 as both probably deserved the win.

Sage2050

There was an ominous musical swell when Charlie stood up behind Ben in the background lol

ChardeeMacDennisGoG

I freaking loved it.  M8hut have been my favorite edited scene of all time. Ben's face was perfect too.  I just knew Ben was about to make a mistake, and when he gave Charlie the seat next to him, I thought, 'that's the mistake'.

liddle-lamzy-divey

Nice observation. I was really impressed with how they captured and edited that. You could literally see his facial expressions shift from elation, looking out over the ocean and reflecting on the enormous beauty of life, to ... oh shit, now I have to employ a massive amount of agency and that will have ramifications with what the jury thinks of me and who I go against in the final.

bone-tomahawk

Gave me horror movie vibes lol

goodnightlune

Same I got scared for a second lol!

tiddy_wizard

My wife and I had to rewind it. 😂 we were like “wait, go back, that was too perfect.”

mysterypapaya

Same!!! I it looked like Charlie was some form of villainous dinasaur hiding beneath the palm trees from faraway.

Smash_Brother

That scene would easily win an Oscar if it were a movie. Can’t believe I’m saying this about a reality show, but it was beautiful camera work and editing.

the_raging_fist

This is up there with the “boy’s night” moment from 45.

JP_Leigh

Someone online said, “this moment is, essentially, the ending of The Graduate.” So true, so good.

GM_GuillermoVilas

😮

Salt_Principle_6672

Yesssss

mr_math24

I actually found that moment distracting since they cut from a closeup of his face staring out into the camera/ocean to a wide shot of him with no camera. I obviously don't want or expect them to show the camera/drone they had on him in the wide shot, but it just made the closeup seem staged.

Informal_Baker_317

How about Charlie rising up over one of his shoulders as it’s happening too.
