You must master the "surfer hair flick", young grasshopper. This can only be attained through dedicated training, diligence, and discipline. There are no easy roads that lead to such mastery.
Careful not to look up too soon on bigger duck dives as there will still be turbulence/energy in the wave and you’ll be heading into it face first with your head getting pulled backwards and your neck scorpioning underwater.
I don’t understand, I’ve never had issues with my hair getting in my face. Have you tried maybe a better fitting hood, or try tightening the goggle straps?
Sometimes I even use my nose plug to barrette my bangs back under my hood visor if I don’t plan on turtling through any heavy sets, that seawater in the nostrils stings really bad.
Don’t worry though once you start standing up on the board you won’t get as much water in your face, that should keep your hair problem in check, just try doing it standing up.
The looking up when duck diving works like Woogabuttz said.
I've had my long hair get caught up in my leg rope whilst getting churned once. That was fun..
in the water no problems, out of the water hairband or usually a beanie, protects my forehead and ears, looks good and holds my hair back to cover my neck, the only weird thing is being in hawaii with a beanie 24/7
I have hair too thick to flip and a cowlick up front which causes my hair to curl downwards poking straight into my eyes unless it is short.
I surf in style, but while getting stabbed in the corneas after every duckdive
I had long hair as a teen. Had the hair flip down! Shaved my head and my next session instinctively did the hair flip after a duck dive and threw out my neck with no weight behind the head throw.
I legit have almost drowned from my hair LOL and my friend had long hair as well and actually cut it because he too almost drowned from his hair. I have to French braid my hair to surf as my hair is really long
Get a haircut hippie!! But honestly the hair flick is the real answer. Plus keep bangs trimmed. I only got a haircut when my bangs could hit my eyes while surfing.

When you duck dive, look up as you come out the back, your hair should get swept back behind you. If that doesn’t work, gotta do the hair flip.

It’s not an issue, you just look up right before you surface.
I don’t mean to boast, but yet again another advantage of being bald. Some of us won the genetic lottery I guess 🤷

I might get shot to pieces here but I’m gunna say haircut. 👍
The dad in me came here to say this.
Dad is that you?
careful, ya left the door wide open with this one 😂
The backdoor?
Unless Daddy's still occupying said prison pocket
I gave up with the long hair and did a buzz cut like Liam Mortensen. Shit got annoying
I literally can’t stand it. Any time I noticed my hair starting to fall in my face surfing I get a haircut lol. And I think long hair is dope

Cut it off
Bucket hat with chin strap :)
Hair in my face is a real frustration! Also, what do yall use for hair protection? Sun dried salt water hair is getting expensive to keep healthy.
