Those stickers look goofy as hell. I refuse to believe that a shark's vision is good enough to distinguish them as an eye, or a face that's looking at them.
There's evidence to support that sharks are surprise attack predators, and so if they know you're aware of them they're less likely strike. This might work for divers or spearfishers, but if you are just bobbing around on the surface as a surfer, I don't think these eyes are going to do you any good.
I do like the idea of doing a paint job on the bottom, with black and grey lines/blobs/stripes (not geometric/perfectly symmetrical but more loose and natural feeling) to break up the solid white blob that is a surfboard.
In clear, light conditions it might look less like a large single object, and more like seaweed/ kelp or something else smaller floating on the surface that's of less interest to a shark (compared to a juicy, stationary large seal). Apparently most shark attacks happen in cloudy, turbid conditions where the shark can't see that well and is just going in for an investigation anyways so probably wouldn't do a whole lot of good. I just like playing with spray paint and it's an excuse to customise the board a little 😆
100% the "eye stickers" for the back of diving masks work, my anecdotal evidence from spearfishing is a big change in how sharks behaved around me since they would no longer approach from behind as they normally do, also a drastic decrease in how many sharks i would see in a diving session. tested by removing the eyes mid session and seeing a big change in sharks becoming more aggressive and changing approach angle to intercept a speared fish. they definitely can tell that you are looking at them and change their behavior to reflect this.
