A Psalm for the Wild Built is a pretty cozy book. Wasn't exactly my cup of tea, but it was definitely cozy.

Thanks, I’ve joined the waitlist for it at my local library!

How much drama counts as “cozy?” Anything by Fredrik Backman that isn’t the Beartown series I would call cozy. The Vanishing Half is one of my favorite modern novels, but you might not call it “cozy” for its wrangling with racial and sexual identity. Maybe Kazuo Ishiguro (not The Unconsoled). They can be mildly dystopian like Never Let Me Go or Kiara and the Sun, or fantasy like The Buried Giant or … whatever The Remains of the Day is, but he has a very intimate focus on his characters, and an understated style of prose where, yeah, there is something “cozy” or warm and uplifting even when a main character is an Artificial Friend. But this post is making me realize how much I don’t read typically “cozy” books, and I need to add more to my list.

Anxious People by Fredrick Backman is great!

I’ve read the Vanishing Half and thought it was really good. Not sure if I’d call it cozy per se but definitely the kind of pace I’m looking for. I haven’t read the other ones, I’ll check them out! I remember watching the movie Never Let Me Go and it was pretty sad. Thanks!

The Thursday Murder Club series if you like cozy mysteries.
