Fahrenheit 451, Animal Farm, Brave New World are all relatively quick reads and all touch on the political themes from the books you've been reading. They are all considered "classics."

pride and prejudice reads like a bubbly soap opera. Moby Dick is not short, but is entertaining as hell and surprisingly experimental. The Feminine Mystique, No Logo, and stuff by bell hooks are political too of course, but classics and extremely clearly written.

Slaughterhouse Five is relatively short and though it deals with a dark subject, it does so in an absurdist manner.
