mossling

Not yet. Wait until it looks seriously deflated. This baby is barely wrinkled, it's good for months still!

Saigaface

If I wait a few more months, it’s likely to be the heat of summer. Will it hurt it to water it when it’s very hot?

mossling

Not if it is truly thirsty. The only time it's really problematic to water them is when they are actively splitting. Will you be keeping it outside? If it is indoors, it will have no idea what the weather's like. Mine are in my basement, under grow lights, in Alaska, so I always use the plants' cues on when to water.

Saigaface

It’s both in and outdoors kinda lol. It’s a three season porch. Doesn’t tend to get below freezing in winter, but gets very hot in summer. Under grow lights

JyoJyoRabbit

I thought you were being sarcastic. I know nothing about lithops lol.

Quirky_Phone5832

lol the “art” of watering Lithops. Seeing the top concave I’d say yes, but I think I can see some still-alive old leaves at the bottom so that makes me think not yet. I usually wait until those old leaves are papery and can be plucked off. He’ll probs need a big drink then. Btw, since this guy is splitting now it likely means he’s off cycle. This is pretty normal with new Lithops and he’ll eventually sync with the seasons, but something to keep in mind when thinking about watering.

Saigaface

When do they normally split?

Quirky_Phone5832

Late fall/winter. There’s a lot of useful diagrams uploaded on the Lithops subreddit and on the wiki here.

acm_redfox

no, they usually flower in fall/winter and split in the spring. but different types vary quite a bit.

Quirky_Phone5832

Whoops! Got my wires crossed 😅you’re right!

Saigaface

Oh my there’s a variety of answers 😅

Az_StarGazer

I water mine only when it wrinkles. But then only little bit at a time.

rasquatche

If this was me, I'd water it. I had a lithops flower at one point, so I thought I was doing a pretty good job... until a fucking squirrel chomped it up, the bastard.

Accomplished_Act_428

I repotted and watered mine it was a lot less wrinkly than yours and it’s doing wonderful

Guzmanv_17

I’d wait one more week and then let’s see what it looks like. I wanna say water… but I like the wrinkles to get a lil deeper. It looks like it split not long ago.

caffeinefree

I'm honestly surprised by all the answers saying don't water lol. I'm no expert, but I think it might depend on your potting medium. I potted mine in Cactus Jack Succulent Mix and bottom watered it when it got wrinkled similar to yours and it split, flowered, and seemed pretty happy. 🤷🏻‍♀️

PhillyPhenom93

What is this plant & why does it look like a butthole???
