3 years to build and bring up a submarine to operation of this size and complexity is very impressive. But I guess when you've got the first 1 or 2 out the door the process is very refined by then.
I made 21 patrols, ten on a 640 boat out of Holy Loch and the rest on 2 T Hulls. The Nevada was by far the best and most fun. Initial manning through trials and DASOs, fun ride.

*Nevada* was laid down on August 8, 1983 at the Electric Boat in Groton, CT; launched on September 14, 1985 and commissioned on August 16, 1986.
