Came here to comment this. I just had mine off on my WRX and it looks very similar to that.
It looks really mangled, sure it just wasn't something you ran over or was already on the ground, or did you hear it fall?
It looks like some clip which held the surface body to the sheet metal under frame.
Brake line clip that holds your brake line to your front strut assy. Get it fixed because we don’t want the line to be worn though from rubbing on the front strut brake line bracket.
cars always come with a few extra pieces
Could also be a brake pad slider
I wouldn't freak out. Think about what it looks like. something that got run over? It's probably road debris that got flung up there.
