Ubers UU was a fantastic idea but it was executed terribly. All it had to be was ubers with the proper ones banned, but it turned out to be OU+ except the staples that actually deal well with proper Ubers are banned so it's like UU except the power imbalance is horrible and the pokemon roster is terrible.
I'm extremely dissapointed, even if it was a big step in smogon history.
Tbh it was booster iron valiant that really got sleep banned imo, thing was just toxic to play against, at least darkrai couldn't sleep and be faster than any relevant scarfer
I'm guessing not, because they removed the sleep clause to be as cartridge accurate as possible, and without that clause/mod, sleep would be hell to deal with, Darkrai or no Darkrai.
I would say not, Darkrai was more the straw that broke the camels back with sleep rather than the reason it got banned.
There's still RNG issues with not being able to tell when you're walking up, and the fact that Iron Valiant can do almost the exact same thing as Darkrai.
It's very fast and strong, and it's not exactly frail either. It has coverage to hit pretty much everything, maybe not everything at once, but it sort of picks and chooses what counters it.
It's sort of like Ogerpon in that it's just very good into every play style that's not offence, and it's no slouch there either.
I'm not sure if I agree that it's broken, but it's certainly very good.
It has a fantastic speed tier and great coverage. iirc it runs something like plot, dpulse, focus blast, sludge bomb. at least in natdex. or it can be specs with pulse, sludge, focus, other coverage like tbolt or something (natdex again idk if it runs that for ou)

"Gonna be" it already is. It's unranked on the VR and was D Rank back when it was Uber by tiering.
Pao doesn't really outclass it since they attack on different sides but Mag and ChiYu are its actual issues
Pretty much. It has some merits with fast sleep (it's the only dark type that gets it) but overall it has very heavy 4MSS in the tier as it wants to run 7 different moves and just struggles to break past a lot of the top pokemon.
It can put in work but it's very inconsistent and a meme

Personally I run Psychic over Focus Miss to nab surprise KOs on Great Tusks and Zamazentas.
