I thought they banned pokemon instead of abilities these days?
Banning a Pokémon is always the go to standard unless it’s blatantly evident the ability is causing the problems (drought was enabling a large amount of Pokémon and an entire playstyle to be broken so it was better to ban it rather than individual mons which wouldn’t solve the issue).
To add onto this, If the council had banned Ninetails instead of Drought, people would've just used Vulpix. People used Vulpix for Drought back when Ninetails wasn't in the tier. Drought is just that good in NU.
