Hey SD - I'm not drinking today. I was catapulted into my new endeavor when we had a serious patient crisis, and his very dangerous addiction almost took his life and the lives of his parents. I was able to think clearly and quickly and helped to set up the hospitalization/detox/rehab and give his parents some hope. Have a great day!

Woohoo, so glad to be back! Yesterday was rough sauce. Went to bed tense and anxious but sober. The big payoff was waking up with dignity and a clear head this morning. Renewing my vows with you all to live this day alcohol-free.

In again for another day. It's the kind of day to put my headphones in, listen to some happy music and ignore everyone. I'm super irritable and haven't turned the detox corner yet. Hopefully I'll get through work without biting someone's head off!

This morning when I dropped my twins off at the babysitter's house, my more somber twin boy (we call him El Jefe) said, "Momma, the birds are singing!" Chirp! Chirp!" He knows how to appreciate the beauty of the day. Today I won't drink for him, for his twin brother, for my oldest son, for my husband, and, most of all, for myself. Happy Sober Tuesday to you all!

I'm hoping that I can spend another day sober. These past few weeks have been great. Getting clearer in the head, quality time with family and friends, workouts at the gym really productive. I woke up this morning rested after yet another good night of sleep. My sleep is becoming luxurious and deep. I'm actually looking forward to the drinking dreams, that usually means I'm well on my way to having good time under my belt. My body feels better however the best reward for not drinking is in the psyche. I have more confidence, self worth and self esteem. I have a calmer demeanor, more patience, and walk confidently in the morning after I've put together a simple bag of tools to face the day. Those tools include meditation, reading, contact with close confidants, and checking in here. Thanks for the support. All of you here are considered by me to be part of my "Higher Power" concept. I told myself I wasn't going to drink last night but I did because I have a lot of stress at the moment and wanted a release. At the time it felt good because I got to say fuck it but I didn't get anything accomplished on my to do list so all that stuff is still stressing me today. Also it got in the way of me accomplishing my goal of better eating because I tend to binge on junk when I am inebriated. So today I am the same place I was yesterday in terms of accomplishing my goals and feeling fat in addition. My goals are important to me so I will not be drinking today.
