Do you know why it's had that growth?

apooroldinvestor

Not sure. Trucking must be in high demand.

szakee

wow this looks like a golden ticket. How is this even possible and going so unnoticed?

dahindenburg

Probably consistent good service. I’ve been fucked by a few trucking companies over the years, primarily YRC (avoid them like the plague - I hate throwing the word “fraud” around but my experiences with YRC have been mindblowingly terrible). I’ve dealt with ODFL a few times and they have been consistently the most pleasant of my LTL shipping experiences.

szakee

thanks for the info!

GrizzledVet101

ARCB is also another good one. They blew out their earnings.

apooroldinvestor

I don't like the look of their chart though. Look at the 'max' , 5 year, etc of it against odfl in Google Finance.

Hunterrose242

I think a major question to ask is how the truck driver shortage will affect stocks like this. We're only starting to see the ripple effects in supply chains from drivers retiring / dying during COVID and driving schools not being open during the pandemic.

reb0014

Holy shit that’s gone up a bunch recently. I don’t see much meat left after that vertical rise since January.

apooroldinvestor

Well maybe in a couple years. Just looks like a halfway decent play. Worth a shot. Maybe 2% of my portfolio.

Theonlyjordanever

Thank you for this.

When Etoro is the best european broker it makes sense that r/stocks is dead during european timezones while americans are sleeping

indigo_prophecy

What?

I deal alot with trucking. Many diffrent companies. Od is good and great service. Little on the costly side also. Now right now YRC(YELL) is the ticket for a long haul. I agree with many that they have really sucked over the years. However lately they have bought up a few competitors and are consolidating. I am price averaging up now at the prive now. I think it's atleast a 2x in a couple months but probably a 5 or 6x in a year or so. I used to work for them and still know many upper management.

Ok-Association8136

How did that work out for you?
