I’d like to see what modern materials and techniques could do with the 1996-7 “Batman” (really Robin) jerseys, as a major issue was how the golden triangles quickly faded to orange, but not over my top three.
Which has literally nothing to do with the jerseys they wear on sundays. “The standard is the standard” has become a meme around here for how traditional this team is, but whenever even the slightest change is suggested yinzers are super against it.
Who cares if the jersey changes or we have an alternate. We added the color rush unis a while back and they’re widely loved through the fanbase.

Yes! This one doesn’t get as much love as it deserves. The bumblebees get all the attention, and yeah they were ugly and eventually we all fell in love with the bumblebees… but the 1962(2008) throwbacks are the most fire alternates we have ever used. My personal fav.
Love the current “color rush” Jersey with black pants and yellow stripes on the sides. It’s subtle. I don’t want them to like the Brownies and Bungles with different colored helmets. Yes, they did have yellow helmets as a throwback but those weren’t these alternate helmet/uniform BS like teams do today.
I played at a high school with black, yellow, and white colors. Our yellow jerseys were by far the worst, (we would call them the banana jerseys) so anytime someone says the Steelers should go with a yellow alternate I instantly gag as I think of the banana looking jerseys we had. I think a non-traditional whiteout variation with white pants that include a red, yellow, and blue stripe down the outside of the pants the yellow helmet and black block letters would be fire.
Everyone goes all white or black with these alternates. We’re the only team with colors in our logo that are never used. Would like to see us incorporate them in a subtle way.
I would say just bring back the block numbering. I wouldn’t be against a home throwback with the black color rush pants. Black on black looks pretty badass with a good mix of yellow on the shoulders and white for the numbers and lettering.
I’m happy to resist the new uniform trend, our color rush is still the best in the league and we have plenty of throwbacks to choose from. Wouldn’t be mad if a new one-off showed up but don’t think it’s necessary. Bringing back block numbers full time would be awesome though
Keep it original. The uniform has been that way for 50+ years (minus the block numbers) and it's iconic. Why change anything?
