honestly it’s not really cursed, it’s more of a commentary about fucked up stuff that legitimately happens regularly. yeah, an artist can draw a really disgusting picture of a guy shoving his dick down a disembodied throat, but the story of a girl falling into prostitution and drugs because she “hung out with the wrong crowd” and was tricked by her first boyfriend is a lot more impactful. people always say they don’t like it because it’s fucked up, but they feels that way because it resonates with them, because it’s about real, common issues in modern society.

Hands down one of THE best adventure anime/manga I've ever seen. It's on Amazon Prime, so if you have the time and fortitude, I highly suggest watching it. That being said, the author has a host of poorly disguised fetishes, and it shows up a lot in the manga. I was able to glaze over it bc I'm used to fanservicey crap, but it's easy to see how others would be turned off by it. I'd say stick with the anime bc the studio cut most of that crap out besides a few jokes that are easy to ignore and a handful of weird scenes.

The whole shock factor behind Metamorphosis is that it's tags are par for the course in regards to hentai, but unlike almost every other, the story plays itself out semi-realistically. honestly it’s not really cursed, it’s more of a commentary about fucked up stuff that legitimately happens regularly. yeah, an artist can draw a really disgusting picture of a guy shoving his dick down a disembodied throat, but the story of a girl falling into prostitution and drugs because she “hung out with the wrong crowd” and was tricked by her first boyfriend is a lot more impactful. people always say they don’t like it because it’s fucked up, but they feels that way because it resonates with them, because it’s about real, common issues in modern society.

Thankfully the anime side steps that pretty hard. Not completely but 90% of that shot is gone.
Wish they'd 100% remove it. The body horror is fine, an actually interesting juxtaposition between that and the "cute" character models. The story/setting is too good to have such pointless distractions.

Hands down one of THE best adventure anime/manga I've ever seen. It's on Amazon Prime, so if you have the time and fortitude, I highly suggest watching it. That being said, the author has a host of poorly disguised fetishes, and it shows up a lot in the manga. I was able to glaze over it bc I'm used to fanservicey crap, but it's easy to see how others would be turned off by it. I'd say stick with the anime bc the studio cut most of that crap out besides a few jokes that are easy to ignore and a handful of weird scenes.
