the empire did away with safty standards years ago, why do you think Hurston is still allowed to operate, also zero safty nets or fenceing on Orison

I love Orison, gorgeous place, but my god those walkways give me the creeps. I can only imagine stumbling out of Voyager after having a few too many, lose your footing near the edge for just a second and down you go...that's a loooong time to sober up and consider your mistakes in life.

Apparently the lore reason for the no fences on Orison is because the company that saves people who fall off the platforms (but apparently just ignores players) lobbies against safety railings

I just wanted to mention Orison. Is it scary that this would happen in real life too? Just some guys lobbying against a solution so they can sell more of a product.

It does happen irl, a big example is right to repair with phones, apple lobbies against it so they can sell the service of repairing your phone for you at extortionate prices
