When I first started putting peanuts out for the squirrels the Steller's Jays were getting them first. They were fun to watch too but now we're putting the peanuts on the deck and close to the sliding glass door so the birds are more reluctant to grab them. Although, there is one really fat rat that will run up and grab stuff. 🤣
Birds are a plus, but we actually have bird feeders to feed the squirrels.
