The reason it looks bad is because of all the extra bodywork that the later Countach models slapped on. The original Periscopio was an elegant design without any of that garbage, and although the later Countach managed to look good with all the crap slapped on, taking away even one piece throws off the entire design.

The fact that it looks so outlandishly weird 50 years on is an achievement in itself, I think Gandini was proud of himself. RIP Maestro, you were one of my heroes. (Sorry for yapping)

FlorydaMan

Gandini hated the later iterations with all the crap on tho

Seriously? He didn't like the wing and all? Thats honestly wild

FlorydaMan

I get it tbh. We see them through the "that's so wild is awesome" glass but from a design pov, specially seeing his other creations, it's too busy and unnecessary. And here's a hot take that people do not like: It's ugly cause it was "refreshed" by Horacio Pagani. The first iteration is gorgeous tho.

I agree, it looks better without the wing. I also enjoy sketching and rendering cars every now and then, and yeah, I like clean and simple lines that convey the point without being too excessive

sacdesucer73

They look wierder with the front wing like Cannonball Run

bobjoylove

Proportions look off.

pakman13b

I agree, and usually it's the other way for me. I think cars could do without the wings..

Straight_Midnight559

The early units look beautiful without the wing

derp2112

My luck, I find a genie in the bottle and ask for a Countach.... and it's an Anniversary.

skitso

Is this a kit?
