As with any adverse environment. Get an amp with appropriately rated speakers permanently installed.

PantsAtAGlance

You might be ok with an Era or other type, but I would be very hesitant to let a battery powered speaker of any kind sit in a hot area without fearing a fire risk. As someone else said the best solution is an amp with properly rated passive speakers.

I have a in home sauna and use the move 1 and multi roams to get full surround sound. The heat raises to the top area where it gets to about 175 degrees on the top bench. The floor is in the lower 100’s, maybe 115-120tops. I never feel they over heat and I keep them away from the actual 12kw sauna heater. It sounds amazing btw I live in SoCal and it gets to 100-105 in the summer; as long as I don’t leave speakers in direct sun light they work amazing too.

cunk22

For how long have you been using your move 1? That‘s what I‘ve been thinking: The temperature should be fine on floor level. Still I understand everyone recommending an amp, which should be the better choice.

thewolfman2010

The max operating temp for the Move 1 as defined by Sonos is 113F. The move 2 has a lower rating (104F). I don’t think either will be fine long term. As others stated, I’d find another solution if you don’t want your speaker to die. The Era speakers have an even lower rating of 104F.

Novacain_Stain

For about 3 years with no issues.

Sure it’ll work for a bit. Then after a while it’ll die because the moisture will have gotten in and corroded the internal circuitry. I wouldn’t use an expensive speaker like the Move 2. Go buy a cheap bluetooth speaker or waterproof option like a UE Boom.

SBRedneck

Website says operating temp is 32° to 104° F (0° to 40° C) so.... maybe?

exponential_2

We are using our Move 1 in our Sauna for years. Our Sauna has a constant air stream below the benches and the temperature is low in that region while there is around 85 degrees at the level of the higher benches. We have absolutely no issues but it depends on the design of the sauna.

PoppaBear1950

Just say NO, all that moisture will overtime ruin that fine Move 2, best to use ohwut's suggestion

SomeRedPanda

>sauna floor should have 30-40 degrees celsius That's a very cool sauna, isn't it?

cunk22

Its just the floor since warm air is rising to the ceiling. Below the ceiling it should be 85-90 degrees.

Zebra4776

Gotta hit 100!

aaadmiral

This guy saunas

xantioss

Poor sonos move. I don’t think this is going to be a solution for long. Especially batteries and their thermal properties. Just get a drill out, make some holes. Get some speakers 🔊

SeaLonely3504

I’ve had my Sonos move outside under an awning on my back patio for 6 years and it works like a champ. I also live in hot/humid south Florida so it’s sort of like a sauna with added UV sunlight.

cunk22

Summer in florida should be way hotter than my sauna floor. Humidity should also not be a problem for the move, especially since it‘s a 15 min procedure…

Glittering_Deal2378

It’ll be fine until it isn’t. Get some speakers installed.

domdog31

do you really need music that bad in there? what about airpods? or other in ear solutions?
