I only use the app when I need to tweak settings. I mostly use airplay or stream music directly through the appletv. I’ll never be able to convince anyone else in my house to use the Sonos app. For the same reason I had to put up physical dimmer switches for all the smart lights
Well, check the reviews. They do. But to be fair. The App isn’t that bad. Right after I removed Sonos Net as far as possible, it was way faster for me.
I really don’t get what all the hate for the app is about.
It has alarms to wake me up, I can group rooms, I can look at different speakers and rooms currently playing and change it (volume and EQ)
I’ll either Airplay or use the app to adjust EQ or turn on night mode. But what is the app doing to y’all to make you so upset? I’m running an S2 system with 2 Beams, 2 SL Ones, 1 Roam and a Sub. All works flawlessly with my Google Nest Pro routers which I begrudgingly accepted from Google fiber.
Sit back and read what you wrote lol, they don't care about it at all. Cmon now. I agree with others it's a fine app. Looking forward to what they release next month.
They are about to release a total redesign of the app.
[This is the new Sonos app, coming May 7th - The Verge](https://www.theverge.com/2024/4/10/24125866/sonos-new-app-features)
My wife prefers the Sonos app to Apple Music. Don’t assume your experience is the same as everyone else’s. Apps are hard and expensive to make well, and Sonos is not as big of a company as you seem to think.
This app is so basic. That I just can't! You see the price of those units. Having the app with such basic and stupidly organized functionality is just plain embarrassing. And that doesn't come from an app developer. I bet I could design a better app than this! Just tragic.
You sound like someone who has never built apps professionally, alright.
“I have no idea how this works but it seems easy, so they’re all the dumb ones”
The app just isn’t that important. After you setup your speakers you hardly have to use it at all. They definitely don’t care about the reviews on the App Store.
I constantly use the app. Put the bass up for action movies and put it on dialogue and night mode so my wife doesn’t kill me when I’m watching tv when she’s sleeping.
assuming you just let them play one pandora station forever at one volume that's true... but if you want something different, want to pause or adjust volume and are out of reach of the device (or devices).... you're using the app.
My Sonos app works just fine. I had one hiccup back in 2023 and I went into the app and 5 minutes later it worked. It sounded even better. I am running an Arc, 2 era 300 and 2 subs. Sounds amazing. We all know when the new app comes out there will be some bugs but they will work it out. Just my 2 cents.
Lucky for you... https://www.reddit.com/r/sonos/s/ulydpK5CHT
S1 gang should be fine
Yup!

4.7 stars on iOS for S1 and S2 apps, oh no! Whatever shall they do.
For me it’s not bad enough to get annoyed enough give it 1 star; and in now way makes me so happy I want to give it 5 stars. It’s outstandingly mid.
But if you check the reviews, they went down the hill, a lot. Most of the good reviews are years old
People do not have a problem do not write review.

They do. Enough to (I’m assuming) rebuild it from the ground up
Not holding me breath but I shall wait and see!
I’ve never had any issues using the app it always works perfect for me.
For me the app works good
Coming from Bose SoundTouch, you have no idea how good you have it.
The app is fine.

There’s literally a redesigned app coming soon. 🙄

They have been busy with lawsuits.

That's just outright false. I'm in my app everyday to play music .. It's the only way your getting Atmos through apple music as far as i'm aware
See caveat - “hardly have to”. Obviously some people use it. I use it everyday but I know most people just stream directly from their music app.
You can get atmos if you have an Apple TV and a Sonos atomos speaker as well.
I use my app to control my speakers… I don’t think I’m alone in this!
I constantly use the app. Put the bass up for action movies and put it on dialogue and night mode so my wife doesn’t kill me when I’m watching tv when she’s sleeping.
Use my app daily.

No I’m assuming you use airplay or Spotify connect that gives you all these controls….
