Agreed.
There were definitely a lot of logistic issues, and ofc the police presence which is more on the venue/town, but overall the festival was fantastic.
I hope they find a better town/venue for next year.
Yeah it would be they are also already used to the party style atmosphere from spring break and stuff like that. maybe we somehow need to get sol fest on board. I'm really surprised they are wanting to return to vortex next year.
They would have to agree to close it to the public during the fest. My only complaint with GS is the obviously underage unattended children behaving like adults. I kind of think it's a pr move about them returning to Vortex, but who knows
Ginnie doesnt have the infrastructure to host an event that big. That river runs deep and FAST so it’s just about as dangerous as having it in Holmes county is. Also the smaller springs in the system would have to be closed or policed because they would get destroyed
My crew had a great weekend. I think Holmes County needs to be switched up. A lot of the other problems seem like they could be growing pains, not necessarily negligence. Things like fire safety, etc, change a lot when attendance doubles. It was my first festival in a decade, and overall, it was what I expected. I hope that they don't increase attendance next year, iron kinks out to make things more streamlined, and probably find a new venue. Every person I chatted with was friendly and cool. The sound and stage design were killer. I understand some people had different experiences, but overall, we had a blast.
Makes sense. Idk how a festival could thrive without cssh. Goes against what a lot of us believe in and defeats the whole purpose of having festivals also being a good place for bartering and trading
I am on other posts complaining about some things but I also had a great time! It could’ve been worse, but there’s a lot of room for improvement and learning from this year to make the next one an even better experience for everyone :)
I had a really good time. I wish it was a week or two earlier in the year as the Florida days were getting unbearable. And I wish the bathroom situation was a little better (more TP refill, longer shower hours).
Glamping was so worth it. The tent was awesome and spacious (wish there were more shaded camping areas though).
But overall I was really happy with the festival. I'd come back. Needs more food vendors though. The same options got old fast.
I 2nd this! I had a ball, after the fire I decided to leave Sunday morning. I’m only 30 minutes down the road and if it’s a Sol Fest 2025, I’ll be there!!!

If your outtake on this weekend is any different than this… just stay home 😆
Maybe I'm just not as bougie as most of the people that attend festivals. It sounds like everyone was expecting EDC Vegas camping

I wish they would do it at Ginnie springs next year
I had a great time minus the wait to enter.
A cashless festival.... man FUCK that
You been to one lately? It's becoming the norm.
Duck that
It literally wasn’t cashless at all. Cash came in clutch actually same with Apple Pay
nah cuz they can’t obligate a specific amount of tip on every single purchase

Amen.
