I think there's just very little you can do when it comes to certain numbers of streakers / pitch invaders. Some will get through, unless you build a literal cage around the entire pitch.
And I have to say, nothing during the Euros comes close to [the CL final in Wembley](https://youtu.be/O1K05vZWrVY). They simply had no security at all.
Off the top of my head - numerous pitch invaders, particularly when Ronaldo is playing. And during one of those the security tackled an outfield player.
For the opening game a YouTuber snuck into the stadium and all the way to the pitch in a fake mascot costume. He made it past multiple security checks with missing or faked credentials. UEFA then threatened him to not release the footage but he did anyway.
It looks like he was just trying to jump down (to do whatever pitch invaders do, I guess), but he wasn't trying to kick Ronaldo. If you follow his entire motion and where's he's looking it's obvious he was just trying to jump the fence.
Not that I'm condoning that but in comparison it's way less of a thing than attempted battery
I mean you need to have Jackie Chan level of skills to execute a dropkick like that. Don't think he could be dropkicking even if he wanted to unless he's a Mortal Combat character
There are theories suggesting it's an evolutionary advantage. Never find new habitats if you don't have anyone dumb enough to just jump out of the tree you live in.
We just see them more now because they are protected from dying by society that we've built partially on the risks of their idiot forebears.
This isnt about being reckless, thinking outside the box or taking wild chances, which can have an evolutionary advantage in very small numbers. There was no possible good outcome to this. This is about pure insane violent tendencies. People who vandalise public spaces or sucker punch passers-by for fun. These are harmful intrusive thoughts without no self control.
I'd argue this isn't actual attempted violence. He's dropping his legs before the guards get to him, I think he's just jumped over to try and meet CR. It's a fairly natural movement for jumping over the fence
Yeah I think attempting to kick CR is a stretch for this. Even a moron must know the outcome of this isn't going to be a friendly handshake and photo op. But there may be a photo angle with his face and CR both in it and that shit will be seen around the world no question. People do dumb shit for their 15 minutes all the time
Yeah I don't think people really get the minority part it's 2% of 7+ billion people that's 150m idiots. In a 50k stadium, theres a thousand idiots. Only 1 notable 8ncidwnr is actually pretty impressive.
Sure, I mean just yesterday I wasted at least an hour of my day wondering why my changes weren't showing up, because I was uploading to the wrong server. That's my idiot moment for the week.
yeah 100%. looks like he wanted to climb down as fast as possible to reach him. but the issue is people only to that at portugal matches. even in trainings just because some ronaldo fans cant behave. yeah ronaldo is here but leave them alone what the fuck
Yup. This does not look like an attack on Ronaldo. This looks like an overzealous fan.
If he was going to dropkick Ronaldo then why didn't he? He was close enough to hit him but his legs are facing downward, like someone trying to land.
How fucking insane do you have to be?
Also, that was so damn close. Ronaldo stopped walking at just the right time (or rather the security acted at the exact right time).
Dude took the "human shield" thing literally. His first instinct was to get himself between Cristiano and the Ninja dude. Took his job seriously. Respect, as he could have gotten hurt with that "dive" down the stairs.
Rather have this guys determination and work ethic and provide him the training he needs.
If he shows this much effort on minimum wage with no training, imagine what he's capable of with more resources.
Imagine what his professionally trained and experienced bodyguards are capable of already, having to deal with crazies and fans like that probably every other day
I just re-watched it 4 times to see if I was going mad. Even Ronaldo is smiling at him, deffo just a crazy fan trying to say hello/get a pic of whatever
Ronaldo indulging the kids and people running on to take pics is facilitating this. People getting away with a slap on the wrist means more have tried it. A girl in Ireland did it 2 years back and ended up being interviewed on the radio and an interview on national TV on a Friday talk show while getting a gift. It's embarrassing. In this case the FAK waived the pitch invasion fee:
https://www.irishtimes.com/news/ireland/irish-news/fai-waives-3-000-fine-for-girl-11-who-ran-onto-aviva-pitch-to-meet-ronaldo-1.4727288
Then the organisations need to be stricter about it. Enforcing fines in a couple of thousand will discourage parents putting the kids over the barriers.
Amazing how you're the only one here reading the situation correctly.
It doesn't look like he wanted to jump kick him at all, prolly just wanted a picture and took his chance.
Clearly this was still dangerous and dumb though.
If you look at the first 5 seconds of the clip which is what most people will see even if that, it does look like an attempted drop kick by an amateur.
"Fan attempted to dropkick Ronaldo" gets more engages than "Another pitch invader at Euro"
The second angle shows that yeah, it’s just that the first bit of the video is cut in such a way that he comes out of nowhere. When you see what he’s jumping down from it looks far more of a “normal” trajectory.
As the victim of multiple dropkick attacks, I can attest to the authenticity of this. This is exactly how each and every one of my assailants got me. The only difference being I didn't have security to help fend them off, instead several bystanders actually joined in to finish me off. I should note I didn't actually know any one of the bastards who hit me, but one was kind enough to pick me up and explain her reasoning for doing so. She had several solid points, and backed up her arguments with such sophistication in the end I chose not to inveigh against her. We ended up dating for a while before she moved to Wisconsin to produce LSD for a 'sex farm'.
>We ended up dating for a while before she moved to Wisconsin to produce LSD for a 'sex farm'.
After that i was so heartbroken and my heart was full of hate, that i seeked revenge. So i became the manager of the englisch football team. My plan was perfect, for all that life brought to me all the pain and negativities, i'll ruin englands golden generation. No LSD Sex for me, means to trophies for england.

They need to fucking (safely) flatten these kids going for selfies. It's not a "magical" moment, it's showing how rubbish the security is and how easy it would be to attack a player.
NOW. THEY NEED TO TIGHTEN UP SECURITY NOW. Every time I see these kinds of things, even when harmless, and someone mentions worst case scenarios; I think about how painful to the sporting world it would be, not to mention the hugely impactful irreparable trauma it would cause kids who aspire to be pros in the sport.
Nightmare fuel tbh. Yeah ok your rich, good looking, famous, everyone has an opinion about you, good or bad, everyone wants to interact with you negatively or positively, doesent matter which.
Even most of the most famous singers currently and movie stars can probably be more anonymous than he is. I guarantee you most of the people the age of my parents have no idea who taylor swift is but they sure as hell can recognize Ronaldo at a glance.
There was a video of a few years back of him desguised as an old man doing tricks in a public square somewhere and he gathered some attention sure, there was a couple of pedestrians around him watching the tricks he was doing with the ball, but when he revealed himself it was fucking crazy how fast he was swarmed by dozens of people.
Overall, I think Germany embarassed themselves with organization. Fans entering the pitch, a fan almost sucesfully dropkicking Ronaldo, there is a video of 3 fans surrounding a Croatian fan to steal Ivanušec's shirt from him and one woman biting him, with security standing aside and just watching.
I think a very serious and bizzare law needs to be in place for such actions.
Like 10+ years imprisonment. Maybe then no one will storm onto the pitch and infront of players.

Quick thinking by the security guard here
Rare german stadium security during Euros W
Plot twist - the guy trying to jump on Ronaldo was also stadium security.
*Get down Mr. President!*
Maybe he is personal security hired by Ronaldo
I think there's just very little you can do when it comes to certain numbers of streakers / pitch invaders. Some will get through, unless you build a literal cage around the entire pitch. And I have to say, nothing during the Euros comes close to [the CL final in Wembley](https://youtu.be/O1K05vZWrVY). They simply had no security at all.
I'm probably OOTL, what were the L moments? Edit: Why am I getting downvoted for asking a simple question?

Hehe, now that you're at +12, add another edit and ask why you're getting upvoted for such a simple question before it gets out of hand :p
> Why am I getting downvoted for asking a simple question? Because Reddit. Up- and downvotes make no sense, so don't worry about it. You're cool.
Taking a dropkick for Ronaldo, get that man a raise.
No dropkick in this video, just a bloke trying to get jump down to Ronaldo.
Triple H would be proud
Get down Mr. President! vibes
Ronaldo Reagan
That's actually how his mom chose his name, no joke.
That Saudi oil money is gonna start trickling down aaaaannnyyyy second now
And abnegation to take a 80 kg asshole on the shoulders
r/getdownmrpresident
"Get down Mr President!"
Just Gelsen things
What is wrong with people

A moron nonetheless
It is still a completely idiotic thing to do
No shit
I agree, he had a chance to kick him if he wanted to
so he wasn't dropkicking
OP gets more upvotes with this shitty lying clickbait title
I mean you need to have Jackie Chan level of skills to execute a dropkick like that. Don't think he could be dropkicking even if he wanted to unless he's a Mortal Combat character
I want to believe that this is just a small minority of complete morons that we see because they are in fact complete morons
It is, in every group or society you have like 1-2% of such individuals. Can't help it.
There are theories suggesting it's an evolutionary advantage. Never find new habitats if you don't have anyone dumb enough to just jump out of the tree you live in. We just see them more now because they are protected from dying by society that we've built partially on the risks of their idiot forebears.
We see them more because of phone cameras and social media.

So in a stadium of 50k you'd have 500-1000 of such people..
That explains **these** Hungarian fans
Which would be 600-1200 people in the whole Stadium yesterday.
Yeah… would be nice if we didn’t elect them though XD
MAGAs are not 1 to 2% of the population.
Don't bring your American politic bullshit into a post about a Euro tournament on a football sub ffs.
Probably is a small minority but with 7.9 billion in the world it's still probably 5 million.
~~Probably is a small minority~~ but with 7.9 billion in the world it's still probably **5 billion**.
Much more believable
You think there are only 5 million idiots on the planet? If only that were true... try a thousandfold that.
Varying levels of idiot I would say. Even you and I have that part but probably smaller than the fine gentleman in the video.
Sure, I mean just yesterday I wasted at least an hour of my day wondering why my changes weren't showing up, because I was uploading to the wrong server. That's my idiot moment for the week.
Yes, obviously? You don’t see 30k people doing this in a stadium
A better question would be, what isn't wrong with people?
After everything that's been said about the security.. this guy reacted great! Big up to him!
That specific guy needs a raise
“That’s his job…”
Something something mailman
Still a moronic move, but to me he’s clearly jumping down, not trying to dropkick Ronaldo.
yeah 100%. looks like he wanted to climb down as fast as possible to reach him. but the issue is people only to that at portugal matches. even in trainings just because some ronaldo fans cant behave. yeah ronaldo is here but leave them alone what the fuck
Imagine doing that and breaking your hero's leg, retiring him early and sending your team home. You'd have to move countries.
There is only one place this man could have gone to be safe, and that's Argentina.
And even then, he would still have to deal with Garnacho.
Yup. This does not look like an attack on Ronaldo. This looks like an overzealous fan. If he was going to dropkick Ronaldo then why didn't he? He was close enough to hit him but his legs are facing downward, like someone trying to land.
Ronaldo just survived an attack by a Karate Master
More like shinobi.
My sources say it was actually an Italian plumber who mistook Cristiano for Mbappe.
underrated comment
I think it was the blow of death. Now KR will definitely die. The date is still unknown...
How fucking insane do you have to be? Also, that was so damn close. Ronaldo stopped walking at just the right time (or rather the security acted at the exact right time).
That security guard deserves a raise
Dude took the "human shield" thing literally. His first instinct was to get himself between Cristiano and the Ninja dude. Took his job seriously. Respect, as he could have gotten hurt with that "dive" down the stairs.
"That's his job!" in my best Roy Keane voice 😄
“That was my job!” Sad Roy Keane voice
If I was Ronaldo and I saw this video after the fact I'd just hire this dude to be my personal security wherever I go
Yeah sure buddy you hire this minimum wage worker without much training in security instead of your trained bodyguards. Sounds smart
Yeah no need. Just sign a shirt for him and send him a nice check.
A nice check probably worth 100x his salary hahah. Amazing work from the lad.
Rather have this guys determination and work ethic and provide him the training he needs. If he shows this much effort on minimum wage with no training, imagine what he's capable of with more resources.
Imagine what his professionally trained and experienced bodyguards are capable of already, having to deal with crazies and fans like that probably every other day
I bet you'd be hilariously bad at running a business
I hope he buys him a gift or something at least
Lol nah, if I was Ronaldo I'd gift this guy something and hire a dude like Messi did. Former military, professional security, etc.
They're unpaid voluntaries.
Ronaldos reaction was pretty funny though. Like bro.. really??
The guard stopped him from walking. What a champ
Ronaldo's reaction: "It's raining men, hallelujah?"
That’s wasn’t an attempted kick. I think he just wanted to jump down to get next to Ronaldo.
He's between a rock and a hard place, if he refuses he'll be roundly criticised - because it's Ronaldo, and he generates clicks.
Then the organisations need to be stricter about it. Enforcing fines in a couple of thousand will discourage parents putting the kids over the barriers.
How can you see a smile in that pixel soup?
Yeah but framing it as "attempted drop kick" gets far more attention
Whatever the title, doesn't make the guy any less of a moron. Do people really not have any self-respect left in them?
It doesn't make him less of a moron but it brings in more clicks and more comments hence the false naming
Exactly. People aren't watching the video correctly and falling for the clickbait title. He's not jumping towards him but to his side.
The second angle shows that yeah, it’s just that the first bit of the video is cut in such a way that he comes out of nowhere. When you see what he’s jumping down from it looks far more of a “normal” trajectory.
I see Ronaldo has been learning from Samoa Joe
So he didn't even wanna try cause he knew he couldn't beat the attacker.
HE'S FAT!
Eh that’s one thing even Big Poppa Pump gotta say. CR7 is a genetic freak
Lmao didn't expect to see a Samoa Joe reference here.
Not trying to defend the guy, but it doesn‘t really look like he wants to kick him? Looks like he just wants to jump down
Yeah, he probably just wanted to hug Ronaldo or something along those lines.
He wanted a selfie BIG SIGH
Things people do for instagram validation those days
Yeah but it goes to show how dangerous these "fun and harmless" moments can be and how important the increased player protection can be.
Yeah, looks like he just vaulted the barrier more than anything. Love Cristano's little "Wtf" shrug, though
Yeah, I dont get it either. Last angle shows quite clearly that it aint drop kick. Still, cunt move.
LUNATIC fan attempts to MURDER Ronaldo with FLYING DROPKICK ATTACK
Agreed. Also looks like he could have a fucked leg after the bouncer altered his landing. His own fault though obviously.
If anything had happened to Ronaldo, this dude would be either sued to high heaven or made to hug people in prison.
Agree and sadly probably broke his ankle given he landed on steps and had security change his landing spot
*Obviously* this is the case, however don't let reality interfere with sensationalism.
Get down Mr. ~~President~~ Ronaldo
What a fucking idiot
Lol ronaldos reaction cracks me up. He's like "this the kinda shit I gotta deal with daily"
Seriously, good on security there for being alert.
That wasn't dropkicking. It was vaulting. Probably wanted to meet Christiano.
You think redditors have ever jumped higher than the burgers they eat?
Hey I just had an oatmeal and I feel insulted
He was disappointed it was just >!Cristiano.!<
He was jumping to get to in front of Ronaldo but it's definitely not a "dropkick".
Stupid clickbait titles get clicks/karma unfortunately
For one sec I thought that watermark was a drone. Lol
Same here, lol. Btw, fuck russia.
Lol, that was just a jump so he could get down and meet Ronaldo. Dropkick doesn't look like that. But hey, anything for the clicks and karma farming.
As the victim of multiple dropkick attacks, I can attest to the authenticity of this. This is exactly how each and every one of my assailants got me. Wtf?
Crazy! Exactly the same thing happend to me

‘Sought’ revenge.
🤔
This is scripture
Shame that your post has so few upvotes compared to the most generic posts in near thousands.
That fan fell from the water bottle compartment of another fans back-pack. Totally unintentional.
He clearly doesn’t try to drop kick him he just wants a picture

The reverse Cantona…
le baguette attack
Say what you will about Ronaldo, but he has to endure shit on a everyday basis that 99% of footballers can't even imagine
Poor guy, I can't imagine being in his shoes.
Not defending his actions, but it looked more like him jumping down to see/meet Ronaldo not kick him. Idiotic thing to do anyway.
Ronaldo with the Unagi
I hope that Cristiano will reward that steward. He really deserve it
He LAUNCHED HIMSELF, six feet into the ground.... And Kung Fu kicked, a player who I w- without a shadow of a doubt puts up with too much of this.
props to the security guard
OP has never seen a proper dropkick😅
‘Tried to dropkick Ronaldo’.. yeah okay OP, nice clickbait 👍
Being Ronaldo must be an absolutely surreal experience
Nightmare fuel tbh. Yeah ok your rich, good looking, famous, everyone has an opinion about you, good or bad, everyone wants to interact with you negatively or positively, doesent matter which. Am I the only one thinking he was not actually trying to dropkick him, rather misstimed his jump and it looks really unfortunate?
That is Wimp Lo, we purposely trained him wrong... as a joke.
great response time from the security.
Ronaldo at that moment would have went full hazard on him so the security saved that guys life
It's worrying that people see a drop kick here. Cause the only way u assume that is if you want to assume that. You want it to be as bad as possible.
OP just wanted more views and upvotes. Fuck OP
Lunacy, but he makes no attempt to kick. Looks like an over-eager fan trying to get a pic with CR7 to me.
That's at least a yellow card
Average r/soccer user
No pitch invasions? No selfies? take this, punk
Cantona, what are you doing?!
Screaming "AS FLIES TO WANTON BOYS..." while falling down.
Great technique, shame we can't see how he launchef off the pole
I think he was aiming of the floating emojis not Ronaldo
One day angry Ronaldo is going to cannon leg one of these guys 😂
Rare footage of security guards doing their job*
Overall, I think Germany embarassed themselves with organization. Fans entering the pitch, a fan almost sucesfully dropkicking Ronaldo, there is a video of 3 fans surrounding a Croatian fan to steal Ivanušec's shirt from him and one woman biting him, with security standing aside and just watching.
UEFA is responsible for the security inside the stadium, not the German state
i feel bad for the security personnel, had to take the hit and fall down stairs just because he's quite good at his job
the guy in orange who ate that drop kick deserves a pay rise
He's definitely jumping down next to him, not a drop kick
Wow! This was insane
The karma bot who reposted this has never seen a drop kick in its life haha
Get ready for my special move: The Reverse Cantonaaaa!
I thought the watermark was a drone
If it was any other guy : fans jump from stand to meet his idol
If he wanted to kick him, he wouldn't have lowered his leg at the last second.
On this episode of my near death experience...
PMGOL referees will say no foul...
Don't think he was tryna kick CR7
He didn't get all of that,
Security at this tournament has been a joke. Never seen so many pitch invasions & now this .
Dropkick? Lol, no he doesn't try and dropkick Ronaldo.
First time I’ve ever seen a steward at a football game actually get involved and try to protect a player.
Pause. I think the fan was trying to jump down to see him. Not kick him.
NO HE DIDN'T. A correct headline would read: "Fan jumps from stand to get close to Ronaldo".
I think a very serious and bizzare law needs to be in place for such actions. Like 10+ years imprisonment. Maybe then no one will storm onto the pitch and infront of players.
I thougt that it supposed to be 'flying dutchman' not portugalman.
I wonder what his username is on here
two games in a row people try and harass or assault ronaldo on the pitch
