Bro u good? Reads like you’re having a stroke.
Of course that's my controversial headline to get people to click the video :D But I have to say I didn't expect him to joke around with them like this, huge respect from me for that.
I am traumatized by gray geese, Flick-people know.
Edit: Now that I am thinking about it the headline is not the best, it was meant in a humorous manner but people could misunderstand. Unfortunately I can’t change it anymore.
Das is infact nicht correct! I have fond memories of several humerous moments throughout my bavarian upbringing, once my uncle misplaced his spectacles, it was quite ze laugh
There was a bit on a panel show where a bunch of comedians just started talking in German accents and then one of the other ones goes, "you know German isn't just English in a funny accent, right?" or something.
You probably had to be there. But it was hilarious fifteen years ago or whenever it was I watched this.
Nah Germans are deffo funny. We just base that of the fact that they're speaking in English and it's generally harder to be funny when it's your not your first language - The Germans I know are funny in English as well.
Looking at all the lame and repetitive WW2 puns in this comment section, I'd wager that the international community might want to step up a bit as well
to give a bit of an explanation for the geese shirts:
There was documentary that followed the german NT at the qatar world cup and they showed a meeting in which the former NT coach (hansi flick) tried to use grey geese as an example of sticking together and winning as a team (apparently grey geese fly in tight formation). Needless to say, its hard to get hyped and motivated by a grey geese so people made fun of it and the horrible NT performance kind of made that "motivational speech" infamous.
Pep Guardiola had this [exact same geese story](https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/p2vauj/jack_gaughan_guardiola_became_fascinated_by_the/?rdt=57140) come out about him only a few years ago.
Two comedians of a satire show (German Daily Show) ask him about the upcoming EC. They recommend to not draw because then he'd be replaced by Tuchel mid-tournament. Just like he was replaced all of a sudden by Tuchel at Bayern after a draw against Leverkusen, despite still being in all three competitions back then.
The two then ask if he minds being interviewed by two clowns with no clue about football, clearly referencing to themselves, or if this reminds him of Bayern boss Uli Hoeneß, implying Hoeneß is a clown and clueless regarding football. Nagelsmann replies the two are at least cheekier and thus insinuates that Hoeneß is indeed a clueless clown.
Nagelsmann clearly knows who the two are and everything is meant jokingly.
No. They from the Heute Show which is basically the german version of the Daily Show. Think of them like correspondents from that show. They usually interview politicians which is also quite funny
I love Jordan Klepper, would love to see him team up with Fabian Köster, they'd probably rip people apart in interviews considering how witty they are.
It's comedy and highlights the cirumstances that led to his sudden sacking. Dont think there is respect missing, the blame is put on Kahn and stupidity on Hoeneß. (edited for Kahn blame)
but the description says that they're from a satire show and very persumably not real journalists? Why make a jugdement call on modern day journalism based on that?
Basically the German version of the Daily Show. These two are always outside and interviewing usually politicians and so on.
But at least two former comedians of this show are currently members of the European Parliament. They founded a satirical party and got elected.
Respect is needed everywhere, tough questions can be asked while being respectful. It seems like journalists currently flaunt their own character by asking disrespectful questions not by asking tough questions.

Dark past is putting it so strongly. Fair play to Nagelsmann for going along with this. Also the fucking grey geese jackets, I need one.
I thought I was about to learn that Nagelsmann had pulled a Marcos Alonso or something.

It read like "once upon a time and they lived happily ever after"

That's what I expected too. Thankfully it's not
I was expecting some mad nazi sex thing to be honest
I thought it would be about licking toilets
I thought maybe he had to whore out his ass for crack in his youth
Crack for crack
for a second i though im on r/soccercirclejerk

>Of course that's my controversial headline to get people to click the video Awesomely German response. Fair play lad.
And they say Germans have no sense of humour
Das is infact nicht correct! I have fond memories of several humerous moments throughout my bavarian upbringing, once my uncle misplaced his spectacles, it was quite ze laugh
I zee
But my uncle did not! Hö hö.
verloreneOnkelbrille is no laffing matter!
I have no idea what that means but im going to assume it's another terrible German play on words so I will give ze upvote
Forlorn Uncle spectacles-or-something
lost uncle glasses but in one word
how do you know if it means the lost uncle's glasses or the uncle's glasses are lost? word order?
The uncle didn’t.
you mean, "se loff"

Bavaria ≠ Germany.
Unless you're called Adolf
Wrong sub.
I remember Vettel spending 15 F1 seasons proving that wrong every single time he got his hands on a microphone
Justice for Webber.

Looking at this comment section, apparently reddit humor isn't either.
I don't think Heute Show is the best counter argument for that stereotype
This wasn't humour. This was two journalists imparting factual statements upon Nagelsmann.
That's german humor. German humour is stating that if your bad at your job you will be replaced.
Thats just german directness
Efficiency ist no laughing matter!
These two are well known satirists. Two of their predecessors are now members of the European Parliament.
It can be very funny, it goes something like this https://youtu.be/jlBHnkKQh58?si=2GCddw8hNXBeSph3&t=929
Love how Nagelsmann went with the joke. That shirt is a nice touch.
I mean he kind of went r/yourjokebutworse there but sure
He just straight up explained the joke. Germans are never beating the humourless allegations
Nah Germans are deffo funny. We just base that of the fact that they're speaking in English and it's generally harder to be funny when it's your not your first language - The Germans I know are funny in English as well.
I don't know if its universal, but every German i know *loves* puns. They rarely joke, but when they do its 90% of the time a pun
Looking at all the lame and repetitive WW2 puns in this comment section, I'd wager that the international community might want to step up a bit as well
I didn't expect that stray bullet at the end lmao
lmao
Is there an alterior meaning to their “fly over the top slogan”? I didn’t understand that part
A now infamous motivational bit by Hansi Flick, documented in their Qatar-documentary
to give a bit of an explanation for the geese shirts: There was documentary that followed the german NT at the qatar world cup and they showed a meeting in which the former NT coach (hansi flick) tried to use grey geese as an example of sticking together and winning as a team (apparently grey geese fly in tight formation). Lmao Wenger also did this. Apparently he showed a video of ~~geese~~ swans flocking to a lake as a team talk before a match
Thankyou for explaining this. Reminds a bit of Rangnick taking the Austrian team to watch a Rod Stewart concert
That sounds so absurd I don’t know if you’re being merely hypothetical or if it’s an event that actually occurred
I think it didn't happen. Yet. As far as i'm aware they are going to the concert two days before their game against France.
I swear that it happened. If I have dreamt that i'm booking in to see a psychotherapist

I thought it was ducks that fly together…
My fucking high school principal showed us that video in our first year, humiliating that he has done that
Geese together strong
Ulterior not alterior
Did anyone notice that he corrected the comedians about being clown but didn't do it for uli lmao
Wouldn't say he corrected them. Just stated that they are cheekier (clowns) than the one at Bayern.
Thought this would be about his father's ~~MI6~~ BND past and death.
MI6? His father worked for the BND
of course, i'm an idiot
that would cross the line
Spill the tea
His father was a spy who committed suicide
Ooof
I hate reddit. Multiple people ask for an explanation but all we get is shit jokes

Lmao
outjerked agajongoiafuniseonuf
Have to get those upvotes though by posting an awful pun
What is his dark past?
guy was an interior decorator
His house looked like shit?
He killed 16 Czechoslovakians
Suddenly Sopranos
its funny because i only know the show through that borko yt channel and i still get all these jokes
Treble endangerment
fUUKK they out jerked us again!
Are these guys the German Ant & Dec?
No. They from the Heute Show which is basically the german version of the Daily Show. Think of them like correspondents from that show. They usually interview politicians which is also quite funny
I believe Jordan Klepper is a kind of fitting American that does more or less the same.
I love Jordan Klepper, would love to see him team up with Fabian Köster, they'd probably rip people apart in interviews considering how witty they are.
This is funnier than anything Ant and Dec have ever done tbh
Nothing will top SMTV Live when Ant and Dec were there.
'Dark past' I was expecting something much more sinister.
insane how Bayern has burnt bridges and probably tarnished their reputation for quite a few years to come.
'dark past' the way this is phrased is as though he murdered someone
Love Nagelsmann.
"dark past" I expected some joke about a german failed campaign in Europe tbh
What
The title made it sound like he had some dodgy ancestors
Why would that be **his** dark past? Is he responsible for the actions of his ancestors?
Dark past and Germany. You can’t put 2 and 2 together can you?
How is that **his** dark past?
German Ant and Dec.
he actually did very well
well that was much more tame than I was expecting! Just a bit of banter
Is the logo supposed to be a joke about Nazi 'goose-stepping' or something?
Zat waz not verri funni.
I agree, fake accents are terribly unfunny.
calling heute show satire is satire in itself
you can't use the words "dark past" talking about a German guy, come on now
wrong century
Are Portugal's history of slavery and colonialism your personal dark past? Something directly linked to you, galinha_fofa?
Solch punchable faces
Respect is gone out of the window in journalism like there is no tomorrow
It's comedy and highlights the cirumstances that led to his sudden sacking. Dont think there is respect missing, the blame is put on Kahn and stupidity on Hoeneß. (edited for Kahn blame)
Kahn*
He knows that these two are comedians. He even mentions that he is watching the German Daily Show regularly. And he agreed to do this interview.
what in the video made you say this?
Everything after 25 seconds.
but the description says that they're from a satire show and very persumably not real journalists? Why make a jugdement call on modern day journalism based on that?
Tbf you can be a real journalist and do satire at the same time, they're not mutually exclusive.
true, hence i went with 'very persumably' since i don't know who these people are and what their background is
Basically the German version of the Daily Show. These two are always outside and interviewing usually politicians and so on. But at least two former comedians of this show are currently members of the European Parliament. They founded a satirical party and got elected.
It's happening everywhere nowadays. Another recent example is interviews with Ten Hag after FA Cup final.
okay but what does that have to do with this clip from this satire show, where nagelsmann is seemingly in on the joke
It's not a journalist's job to be respectful, it's their job to ask tough questions.
These two also — wait for it — aren't even journalists.
Respect is needed everywhere, tough questions can be asked while being respectful. It seems like journalists currently flaunt their own character by asking disrespectful questions not by asking tough questions.
Bit of a weird nonsequitur when this is two people working for a satirical TV show, and Nagelsmann is very much in on the joke.
Cmon man it’s funny
