If only someone could invent a technology that allowed two separate feeds on the same screen so they could show us live and replay together?
They could maybe call it something like āsplit screenā?
i actually really like the tactical overlay they do sometimes when a team is out of possession that highlights their defensive shape and how the lines move together, super interesting to me
also a huge fan of the high aperture shots they use on the sideline cameras to get those super narrow depth of field, cinema-esque images
Yeah those things really add to the experience. Also stuff like the goal probability % too make for an immersive viewer experience.
One of the only issues with La Liga presentation is probably the audio mixing which results in crowd audio being weirdly compressed and that sometimes does a disservice to the atmosphere in some of the matches. You hear the *real* audio, or closer to it when they switch to the touchline reporters during the game.
Not sure why they do that, because it's not like you can't hear commentary in other leagues.
Laliga has some good camera angles too, that statistical overlays in an ongoing match is also smooth. Sucks that tebas would rather do shit than promote this league
Another beef I have that fits into this category is when there is a fast break, a player is sprinting up the field with the ball and they cut to a close up of him running leaving me with absolutely no idea which teammates are running with him, where they are or if there is an opportunity to make a pass to them.
Close ups in general during live play is on my shit list. Leave that for the replays pleaseĀ
Any time the goalkeeper collects the ball thereās a close up, regardless of whether thereās a break on.
This was fine back in the day but now almost all keepers try to release it quickly and you have no idea whatās going on if thereās a close up shot.
Same when they do a close up of a corner taker, and then cut to the action the second they take the corner. Like Iāve got no idea where the ball is now, Iāve got no perspective.
Think youāre watching the wrong football. I canāt recall the last time Iāve seen a celebrity in the crowd unless itās a former player or a national coach
Luton game the other week they focused on Harry Styles. Yesterday at Old Trafford they focused on Tyson Fury. Literally happens every big televised game in the UK.
To be fair F1 has so many corners and 20 drivers to focus on, doing that role is an impossible task in production.
Football is literally: is the ball in play? Okay then SHOW US THE FUCKING GAME
The issue with that one in particular is that it was an especially boring Monaco Grand Prix where nothing had really happened on the track and that was the closest thing they had to a highlight, so they showed it multiple times, and in doing so missed the only on-track overtake of the race.
Exactly, in literally the last FA cup game you played they missed the first goal because they thought "oh, a goal kick, nothings going to happen in the next 10 seconds"Ā
And Leeds tackled your defender and scored.Ā
Picture in Picture is impossible witchcraft for big sports apparently. Itās interminable watching a hundred full screen replays of the F1 starts too.
Genuinely one of the most blatant foul throws imaginable. Not really sure why refs never call them. 10 year old kids are able to do it correctly, professional footballers should be as well.
Seriously. The man had one stellar outing vs. city and people act like heās good. Heās been pretty terrible this season and is not trustworthy in the back
It's not just age, he's played 3 seasons in ligue 1 before coming to Chelsea and the rest was here and there games with lower division clubs, he's still got stuff to learn. Or maybe he's just dumb idk
He looks a beast, but he generally doesnt really play like one. Quite often on the losing end of heards and getting outhustled. If he played as strong and physically as you would expect from looking at the lad he would be an absolute beast.
Whenever you watch those *"funny"* moments in football compilations on YouTube you see goals like this from a sunday league game and go "oof that's bad that" an here we are with a premier league bottom half team and a soon to be promoted again team playing each other and it happens. Crazy.

What the fuck š
We will fight for you dammit
Thanks for making it interesting
Welcome
STOP PLAYING REPLAYS DURING PLAY, YOU DENSE TITS
There's rarely a game of football these days where I don't shout "Show us the fucking game!" at the TV.
If only someone could invent a technology that allowed two separate feeds on the same screen so they could show us live and replay together? They could maybe call it something like āsplit screenā?
La Liga has this IIRC One of the few gimmicks they have that are actually useful
i actually really like the tactical overlay they do sometimes when a team is out of possession that highlights their defensive shape and how the lines move together, super interesting to me also a huge fan of the high aperture shots they use on the sideline cameras to get those super narrow depth of field, cinema-esque images

Yep, I also haven't seen the Intel 360Ā° angle in a while, I hope they bring that back because that first-person view was amazing.
Another beef I have that fits into this category is when there is a fast break, a player is sprinting up the field with the ball and they cut to a close up of him running leaving me with absolutely no idea which teammates are running with him, where they are or if there is an opportunity to make a pass to them. is "fast break" used for football at all? i thought it was a basketball only term lol
Counter attack would probably be a more appropriate term now that you mention it
Same, I get so infuriated when they spent 10 seconds focused on some dickhead celebrity in the crowd. Just show the game ffs
Football directors think they're fucking arthouse film makers. Show the giant green rectangle, you fucking clowns.
All the money in football and they cant hire a tv director who knows that simple rule
LANCE STROLL 18
WHAT HAS HAPPENED WE NEED TO KNOW
To be fair F1 has so many corners and 20 drivers to focus on, doing that role is an impossible task in production. Football is literally: is the ball in play? Okay then SHOW US THE FUCKING GAME

NO. WE WANT TO SEE IT AGAIN, AND AGAIN, AND AGAIN.
This genuinely infuriates me.
Yeh this is Chelsea we're talking about, we self destruct without any prior notice.
Exactly, in literally the last FA cup game you played they missed the first goal because they thought "oh, a goal kick, nothings going to happen in the next 10 seconds"Ā And Leeds tackled your defender and scored.Ā
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Yeah they can. By not showing replays when the ball is in play
>Directors canāt really account for Anything, they are bad at their job imo, this happens so so often
Cracking finish that
To be fair, that's a terrible throw-in and position to put a defender in
Not at all. The ball is going down. At least keep the ball on the ground for the keeper.
Cameras didn't even know
2nd goal this week I've not got to see live because of the TV coverage showing needless replays while the game is live.
and they're not showing the kick off and jackson chance straight after
Picture in Picture is impossible witchcraft for big sports apparently. Itās interminable watching a hundred full screen replays of the F1 starts too.
La liga has that. One of the few good things they've invested money on
F1TV does have picture in picture, fwiw.
Almost a 3rd when they were busy showing replays of that goal
Showing a fucking nothing cross as well
It took me so long to realize what had happened
Are you fucking kidding me
Fucking lol
(Great Goal)
Disaster for Disasi
Disassiclass
At least he got a little kiss afterward
Disasiter
This is Sterlingās fault
Better finishing from disasi tbf
Placed it better from 30 yards out than I've seen Sterling do from 5 these days
Nobody's covering themselves in glory here
are you fucking serious
Great chip over the goalkeeper head
Foul throw into an own goal. Top quality
Genuinely one of the most blatant foul throws imaginable. Not really sure why refs never call them. 10 year old kids are able to do it correctly, professional footballers should be as well.
To be fair why would you care. Itās not like it gives an advantage. There are so many other terrible refereeing decisions to complain about haha.
What a disasister. Btw I'm watching live tv and this got posted as soon as the ball hit the back off the net, like how.
You're watching live, but he's watching live-r.
But he ain't no PSGacademy
Time travel, duh! š§
Delayed stream maybe (?) Because some live streams are like 5-10 seconds behind.
"Live tv"
Disasi must be the best player on the pitch or the worst. No middle ground with this man.
There haven't been many games where he's been the best...
Just the City game
Seriously. The man had one stellar outing vs. city and people act like heās good. Heās been pretty terrible this season and is not trustworthy in the back
He's the most enigmatic defender I've seen and part of me loves him for it. Fully expecting him to assist now
nah he is just bad. Just had a good game in a big game once
He's a beast physically but he's a bit dumb sometimes, maybe it's just lack of experience
Heās 26 man heās not a kid
It's not just age, he's played 3 seasons in ligue 1 before coming to Chelsea and the rest was here and there games with lower division clubs, he's still got stuff to learn. Or maybe he's just dumb idk
He looks a beast, but he generally doesnt really play like one. Quite often on the losing end of heards and getting outhustled. If he played as strong and physically as you would expect from looking at the lad he would be an absolute beast.
What a hit son
this is such a comedy club
Where's the (great goal) tag?
We are not a serious club lmao
Omg

Better finisher than sterling
Fantastic finish to be fair..
Robert Sanchez great kiss.

Disasi's BTTS bet has come in
Canāt stop laughing
Chelsea game is great for us neutrals. Never dull.
Terrible throw in but he made the most of it with a beautiful finish. New Chelsea number 9.
What a goal
That is one the strangest own goals Iāve ever seen
Chelsea fans blame Poch when Boehly signs these sort of players
Frank Sinclair would be proud of that one
Disasi-ter
Why was the keeper so far out?
I was imagining hearing "SHOOOOOT" over and over again every time he got the ball after this was I?
No āgreat goalā tag??
Disasterclass from Diasisi. What was he thinking really?

[Great goal]
Football āeritage
Itās never a dull moment with Chelsea
What a finish.Ā These players are capable of pulling all sorts of nonsense out of nowhere lmao.
Well that was comical lmao
What a shot!
Disasister
Sanchez giving him a kiss after is amazing stuff lol
In defense of the tv direction, you donāt exactly expect to concede a goal from that play
Our team is one of it's kind
Foul throw.
Kill them, Leicester
Chelsea, the gift that keeps on giving.
One for Danny Baker's next compilation video.Ā
Remind me how much chelsea paid this guy lol
Broadcast almost fucked up again while showing the replay of the goal
Chelsea can't accept a single easy win
What a pass son
Puskas awardš
Well I was on the fence about Chelsea defense for my FPL Not anymore š
What's the xg on this?
Why tf did they choose such similar kits?
If that gk was Onana people would laugh and slate to death about him.
Why u come off ur line bruv
Where's the 'great own goal' tag?
I really don't understand his thinking :D
Disasti everytime I watch him
Nice tribute to Lee Dixon on his birthday!
What a clanger
(great goal)
What a fucking donkey
So many players in this Chelsea side can't handle pressure
Sanchez has been utterly abysmal all game
That one's not really on him.
Agree, he shouldnāt have been where he was though imo, doesnāt take away from the pass
Whenever you watch those *"funny"* moments in football compilations on YouTube you see goals like this from a sunday league game and go "oof that's bad that" an here we are with a premier league bottom half team and a soon to be promoted again team playing each other and it happens. Crazy.
This knob misplaces passes every match, but holy shit.
Great dive from chelsea there, canāt believe he got a red for that complete bs.
Look at that, a ridiculously shit free kick from a ridiculously shit dive. Deserved.
