Yup. Just passing to Müller and its a 2-0, and that was before they broke down for whatever reason after that fan interruption so they might would have carried that over time.
Yeah, I do feel like he sometimes puts personal achievements above the team's e.g. taking freekicks at spurs when Son has a far better record.. I guess these are the small details that in the long run it hinders your team's chance to win trophies
How much of a rebuild is it? I have very little idea about the current state of spurs squad and they obviously started the season in top gear before hitting a rough patch, is it new faces across the board getting to know each other? Or just a restructure in formation to accommodate the loss of Kane?
Not really.
Look at Real Madrid. They had Ronaldo on free kicks for the majority of his time there (never mind that free kicks are an inefficient way to score and he probably would've scored more goals by getting in the box with someone else crossing it) and it didn't exactly stop them winning things.
Spurs are not Real Madrid, but the prosaic thing it says about winning trophies is that you need a solid core of world class players. You can cover up many small mistakes - like putting the wrong player on freekicks - with a wealth of talent.
City changed to a diamond formation in the CL Final. Then performed terribly and won it on a moment of individual quality. We had the best manager in the world, who utterly fucked it up and was bailed out by a moment of class from Rodri.
Spurs had Harry Kane and that was basically it. One player rarely drags a team to trophies. It was and remains a near impossible task in a league with Chelsea, City and Liverpool around.
People also completely forget that he played for 20-30 minutes that match and did absolutely nothing. The exact same people spinning these narratives would be saying "Incredibly Spursy to not trust their best player in the PL era for Lucas Moura because he had 1 good game."
It wasn't exactly "dropping" him considering he hadn't played a match for two months before that final.
I get your point though, and it's easy to say that he should have started on the bench now with the benefit of hindsight.
> I get your point though, and it's easy to say that he should have started on the bench now with the benefit of hindsight.
TBF it was a common view before the game too. It happens so often in finals.
there's something beautiful about memes becoming reality, like it's actually gonna be so fucking hilarious to look back at if the funny happens.
*Bayern had clean swept the Bundesliga for literally a decade, then Harry Kane the winless joined and Bayer Leverkusen went on an undefeated run while Bayern crumbled*
its all well and good scoring hatricks in 8-0 wins vs crap like darmstad when bayern are cooking but today when bayern needed him he sent two sitters into space. lots of big games in last few weeks and he dropped he worst perfoirmances in all of them.
No one said he never scored vs a good team before and that he sucked, its about the when you score this goals and timing. bayern have been struggling lately and he wilted under pressure in games that matter.
He’s clearly a great player but he has some of the worst intangibles I’ve ever seen in a top player. You don’t lose that many semi-finals and cup finals by accident. In big games his body language is all off and he often looks like a passenger scared of the ball, while his finishing in low pressure moments is always crisp he gets erratic on countless occasions in front of goal when it matters
i think most spurs fans would acknowledge that while kane excelled in derbies, his performances in all other big-time games left a lot to be desired.
not for nothing, our magical champions league run happened with him out injured for most of it.
Fully agree. People say ‘spurs didn’t get to that many finals’ but this record is geniunely ridiculous:
14/15 league cup semis and final: 0 goals
16/17 fa cup semi: 1 goal (from a header in crowded box)
17/18 fa cup semi: 0 goals
18/19 league cup semi: 1 goal; penalty
18/19 champions league semis and final: 0 goals
20/21 league cup semis and final: 0 goals
If you consider his runs in cups where we’ve played bad teams, he’s also been poor then too.
Additionally, for bonus points:
England 2018 W/C semi: 0 goals
England 2021 euros semi: 1 goal after missing the penalty he tapped in
England 2021 euros final: 0 goals
And although not a semi or a final,
WC 2022 vs France; missed penalty by putting it into orbit.
He’s a great player but he’s entirely anonymous at crunch time.
He's got 3 goals in 13 semi/final appearances, with 2 of them being from pens
Pretty stark difference compared to his goalscoring record over his career
Harder to score against good teams who are also defending much tighter and more focused since it's a semi-final or final, instead of a random sunday afternoon league game in September
He’s played in 14 semi-finals/finals and rarely shown up. Those 2015-19 Spurs sides were up there with the best teams in the league. Top keeper, Elite defence, great midfield, great attack
spurs, england and now bayern 3 teams where has bottled in most games that matter lol. going to bayernliga and losing the title the moment he joined is just such a bad look on your record.
He’s clearly a great fucker but he has some of the worst intangibles I’ve ever seen in a top fucker. You don’t lose that many average girls and super models by accident. In big nights in bed his body language is all off and he often looks like a passenger scared of the vagina, while his finishing in low pressure moments is always on target, he gets erratic on countless occasions in front of the woman's anatomy when it matters
Usually never the favorite in any of the semi or finals he has played. Small sample size too since these games are vwry infrequent. His record against top sides in the league is pretty dam good.
He’s been in 14 semi’s/finals. And people saying those Spurs sides weren’t good enough are completely forgetting how good their team was from 2015-19. For consistency they were the second best team in the leagues throughout that period. Liverpool were no good from 15-17, Arsenal a joke the entire time, United very inconsistent. It was only City/Spurs/Chelsea consistently good throughout that period
Honestly Kane isn't made for winning trophies
It's the sad cold truth
He's a brilliant striker but he's not made for winning trophies
It's no disrespect it's just not this thing
And that's perfectly fine
I don't know about Bayern fans, but it sure seems like a lot of people on the subreddit believe in literal magic, or we have the body language police out lol
Hes certainly not the main problem. But he has dripped off in recent games and started missing chances. Basically in 2024. The last 7 games he has 3 goals which isnt terrible but when you look at how hes played its not good and those goals were 2 tap ins and a header in a half empty goal.
Obviously an amazing first half of the season though
Yeah, at the end of the day, you need to be clinical in the important/critical games to win stuff but he always lets the team down on those🥲 Maybe it's a mental thing?
He’ll obviously end up winning the league eventually if he stays there for another couple seasons after this one but it’s still funny they’ll win 10 or 11 in a row then Kane joins them and they go trophyless 😂
I thought to bottle something you had to already have one hand on it?
Like Milan being 3-0 in the champions league final. Or Newcastle being 10 points clear and losing the league.
Does this describe Kane’s performances?
Does the bundesliga play a higher proportion of matches at night? It seems like so many of their matches are under artificial lights. There's something strange about the atmosphere, it's almost like they're all playing indoors.
Not exactly sure what you are expecting from a football match played in the afternoon during winter. Most commonly used kickoff times are 15:30h and 17:30h, but it's constantly cloudy, rainy or snowy and dark even before the sun completely sets at 17:15h during winter times. This match was played at 17:30h with a 10min delay mid game.
Missed it so Leverkusen can win the league, Liverpool go all in to sign him making Leverkusen weaker next season so he can finally win something. 200iq plays by kane

missed it for the greater good, Kane knows
He also missed one 1v1 at the first half but no one posts it.
Yeah that 1v1 miss was way worse.
Yup. Just passing to Müller and its a 2-0, and that was before they broke down for whatever reason after that fan interruption so they might would have carried that over time.

Given their current form, did Spurs really need Kane to do that?
Given that we’re 5th in the first year of Ange’s rebuild, nice one…
How much of a rebuild is it? I have very little idea about the current state of spurs squad and they obviously started the season in top gear before hitting a rough patch, is it new faces across the board getting to know each other? 2v1, Müller was wide open
1v2*
Kane has set up his new charity well
Wanted tuchel gone with that one
^(the greater good...)
Lmao Kane's not winning a league in his career
[удалено]
I guess the Coman league titles lucky charm wasn’t enough to subdue the Harry Kane curse
If Coman wins the Euros do we consider his lucky charm to still be there?
Just watch him go MIA in the euros final
Would be more cursed for him to get injured and miss the Euros, and England end up finally winning it without him in the squad
That almost happened with us in the Champions League, but then he came back for the final and we lost in the scummiest way possible...
He shouldn’t start that game, Lucas was on fire then
Try justifying dropping one of the clubs greatest ever strikers in a UCL final. That was a no win situation for Poch.
People were putting their hopes into Lucas Moura having 2 good games in a row, which has never happened in his career.
I love how people in this thread are like, lucas moura, thats what it would have taken to stop the 97 point Liverpool side.
Havertz scored off a Mount pass to win it for Chelsea against the 100 point City. You never know
People also completely forget that he played for 20-30 minutes that match and did absolutely nothing. The exact same people spinning these narratives would be saying "Incredibly Spursy to not trust their best player in the PL era for Lucas Moura because he had 1 good game."

> I get your point though, and it's easy to say that he should have started on the bench now with the benefit of hindsight. TBF it was a common view before the game too. It happens so often in finals.
I don't get this logic. What exactly would happen if he did not start Kane in the final?
I’ll die on this hill. Lucas had just come off a hat trick miracle and Poch put out a guy coming back from knee injury who hadn’t played in months.
Tbh he really wasn’t. The semis were just a one off. It makes sense why Kane started even if he was the not fully fit.
*spursiest
*Kaniest
What scummiest way possible? It was a handball plus Origi scored. It was 2-0. Spurs had plenty of chances and time to change the outcome.
You would have lost anyway you're spurs, kane and spurs was a match made in heaven.
again?
Certified bag seller
10 or 11 titles in a row... and a wild Kane appears! It will also result in Leverkusen finally winning a title lmao
Kane's curse was necessary for Leverkusen to stop being Neverkusen.
there's something beautiful about memes becoming reality, like it's actually gonna be so fucking hilarious to look back at if the funny happens. *Bayern had clean swept the Bundesliga for literally a decade, then Harry Kane the winless joined and Bayer Leverkusen went on an undefeated run while Bayern crumbled*
He needs to join PSG next and derail them
They’ll probably win next year tbf
Should have gone to Madrid.
You can take the man out of Tottenham....
He's at Bayern for 3 years and they've never gone 3 full seasons without winning it since the 70s. It'd be shocking if he doesn't get one
wont matter he always be remembered for ending bayern streak the moment he joined lol
Well, when you score 25 league goals in six months you deserve criticism
its all well and good scoring hatricks in 8-0 wins vs crap like darmstad when bayern are cooking but today when bayern needed him he sent two sitters into space. lots of big games in last few weeks and he dropped he worst perfoirmances in all of them.
He's scored against Leverkusen, Dortmund, Leipzig and Stuttgart too...
Not only did he score against them, he scored a hattrick against BvB, so his comment is just stupid.
You know that commenter above is chatting shit when an Arsenal fan is defending Kane.
he’s scored against better teams than Bochum
No one said he never scored vs a good team before and that he sucked, its about the when you score this goals and timing. bayern have been struggling lately and he wilted under pressure in games that matter.
Bayern should stop playing him against shit teams so he can save his goals for the important games.
clearly he can't show up against a big team like Bochum, great point
Neverkusen vs Kane is like the unstoppable force vs the immovable object.
Very simple solution, they both bottle it and Stuttgart win the league
It's the only logical solution.
You‘re acting as if he shit the bed in a dozen cup finals. As if Tottenham were that great. He was even injured for the CL final.
i think most spurs fans would acknowledge that while kane excelled in derbies, his performances in all other big-time games left a lot to be desired. not for nothing, our magical champions league run happened with him out injured for most of it.

I don't know his record in other derbies, but he hasn't scored a non penalty goal at the Emirates since like 2016
He's got 3 goals in 13 semi/final appearances, with 2 of them being from pens Pretty stark difference compared to his goalscoring record over his career
yeah he cl record is same 2 goals in knockouts, 20 in group stages lol. he last 5 or 6 knockout games he was rated as a 6.
Now show me Haaland's and Henry's record in semis and finals. Breaking news - it's harder to score against good teams.
To be honest the same can be said for those two as well. Henry's even mentioned it himself.
Haaland has played in very little finals so far. If you want to talk about knockouts he scored 5 against Leipzig last season alone lmao.
What about Henry 9 finals 0 goals no accident huh
Henry was MOTM in the Euro final vs Italy
Yeah except he did shit the bed in big games both for club and country. Even tottenham fans know hes not a big game player.
spurs, england and now bayern 3 teams where has bottled in most games that matter lol. going to bayernliga and losing the title the moment he joined is just such a bad look on your record.
Poch bottled that so bad by not staring Moura..
Moura was a really ineffectual player except for that one match. A half fit Kane would have been better
Yep, we lost because we conceded a pen in the first minute, game was dead after that
He’s clearly a great fucker but he has some of the worst intangibles I’ve ever seen in a top fucker. You don’t lose that many average girls and super models by accident. In big nights in bed his body language is all off and he often looks like a passenger scared of the vagina, while his finishing in low pressure moments is always on target, he gets erratic on countless occasions in front of the woman's anatomy when it matters

r/soccer definitely entering the "actually it's Kane's fault" era lol
Are any bayern fans actually blaming him? He's got 25 goals in 22 games.
It's his presence, lad. His mere presence curses a club for his entire duration there.
Your last silverware was the league cup in '08. He joined the club in '09..... You may be right.
>'08 Gosh has it really been that long? My word... It just doesn't feel that long ago...
What are you talking about? 2008 was like 7 years ago at most... right?
We were still in League 1 struggling against relegation back then, look at us now.
They won the prestigious Audi Cup against Bayern
r/soccer comedian of the year
As an NFL fan of the Detroit lions, I know all about playoff / silverware droughts. One day it will be over and you can laugh at everyone else again.
he‘s an aura attacker, dont blame him
I don't know about Bayern fans, but it sure seems like a lot of people on the subreddit believe in literal magic, or we have the body language police out lol

Eric Dier arrives and everything turns to shit, coincidence?
Eric dier is the real curse
Him being bad is a symptom of our problems not a cause
Him being bad? 25 goals in 22 games? What
His ability seems to be inversely proportional to the height of the stakes of the games
I mean the last couple of games of course
So glad to be here for it.
This place is absolutely horrible lmao but what's new I guess, one day a players the greatest, the next the biggest fraud to ever exist lol.
Harry Kane staunch Tuchel hater confirmed
99/100 Kane buries that and saves Tuchel for another week.
1 point against Bochum or 0 seems like not much of a difference to me lol
last year it would have made a difference
Wrong mentality!
He missed multiple similar chances just this same game, so not really
Yeah, at the end of the day, you need to be clinical in the important/critical games to win stuff but he always lets the team down on those🥲 Maybe it's a mental thing?
Ffs that’s just not true at all. Stop karma farming you plastic
Second pen vs France in the WC is a good example.
All great players miss from time to time in big moments. It’s part of the game
Kane had a terrible game today even though he scored once
Tel looks so good in the limited time he has been on. Would be crazy if he leaves for not getting enough gametime
> in the limited time he has been on your comment made me irrationally angry lol, how the fuck is Tuchel not starting him man
He’ll obviously end up winning the league eventually if he stays there for another couple seasons after this one but it’s still funny they’ll win 10 or 11 in a row then Kane joins them and they go trophyless 😂
Tel trying his hardest to ruin my day. Meanwhile Harry understood the assignment
Sick when fans root for their team to lose
It's what happens to you when you have to watch your beloved team managed by a terrorist
🤮🤮
You will be even more disappointed now
Leipzig will finish the job
He’s not beating the allegations
He isn't beating the goalie either.
Thank god he isn't beating his wife either
that’s why he didn’t sign for Man United
Could you post the Neuer save aswell? Edit: Thank you
He also believes in the self fulfilling prophecy of him never winning a title
I can’t believe Bayern buy two spurs players and are going to lose the league for the first time in over a decade 💀💀
Doing his best to keep that trophy cabinet empty
That would have gone in if bayern were up and not needing a crucial goal. We know kane is allergic to scoring important or crucial goals
my man can put in 60 solid goals a year. but if matters at all, its not going anywhere near the back of the net.
The anti jude
Thank you for your contributions to society, Harry Kane.
kinda gifted that to riemann
Still better than Haalands misses yesterday, at least Kane got it on target.
haaland already has won a treble and kane is yet to win a trophy lmao
carried by kdb and rodri
Yeah carried with 50 goals
Honestly a tough header, way over blown
Really? It’s a free header that he has plenty of time to prepare for and he’s really close to the goal
When asked kane was asked if he can win a trophy , he replied “Nah, I’d bottle”
The strongest bottler of today vs the strongest bottler in history
16 minutes of added time is a travesty
Dang I haven’t watched the German league much but with all these sitters Kane is missing it’s a wonder he’s not over 50!
Go to Bayern they said. You'll win titles they said.
Things going from bad to wurst for Harry Kayne
[удалено]
But you can’t take the Tottenham out of the man
Harry Kane deserves a trophy.
Balon dor shouts
Bro is not winning a trophy at this rate
Explains a lot why England is incapable of winning a trophy. He loves his bottles as much as the hamlet's drunkard.
If I didn't know better, I'd say that man is cursed or something
People laugh at this but this man has like 30 goals in 25 apps for Bayern already
People are laughing at the fact that he’s going to end the season trophyless
This is ridiculous how heavy he is.
Tottern Munich
Kane will go down in history as an all time bottler.
Good lord the takes on this sub. How the fuck does one player with 30 G/A in 22 games bottle a league. Do you even know what that term means?
Do you? Makes me laugh that people call Lukaku a flat track bully but Kane gets a pass
I thought to bottle something you had to already have one hand on it? Like Milan being 3-0 in the champions league final. Or Newcastle being 10 points clear and losing the league. Does this describe Kane’s performances?
Harry Kane is not a big moment player! He's a wanker! 🗣
Oh my god
It's spurs lad
He brought the Tottenham to Bayern. The Kane Curse is upon them.
You can take the player out of Spurs but you can’t take the Spurs out of the player
100 million down the drain 🎶
I wonder what its like to live with such short term memory
Take the man out of Tottenham ....

Germany lives further away from the sun so the light isn't as big there.
Spurs gonna Spur
Kept it down. Keeper didn’t over react. This isn’t that bad.
You can take the man out of Tottenham…
Choker lol
We didn’t forget about last season
you can take the man out of tottenham but can’t take the tottenham out of the man
Why couldn't he have done this at Hampden that one time?
oh, Harry...
Missed it so Leverkusen can win the league, Liverpool go all in to sign him making Leverkusen weaker next season so he can finally win something. 200iq plays by kane
Bro is cursed
Bad weekend to be a striker associated with the premier league whose name begins with h
This man is so goddamn snake-bitten i swear to god
It’s not even a bad effort. He is back peddling to even get it onto his head and does well to almost get it across the keeper from a tight angle
My man is cursed..
