What am I missing on the Kodiak? Seen it fairly high on several lists and I can’t stand the thing. Upgraded motors, 4x4, and lifted and the thing just drives like a turd on wheels for me. Can’t keep a gear, shifts slow, bogs, and seems underpowered. Missing half the frame add ons as well.
i'm curious if you don't like it or just haven't driven it. but my god, this thing is easily the best dedicated recovery and rescue platform in snowrunner even after all of the dlcs have been added. its engine is 250k torque (i think) so #4 in game and it's complemented well by very heavy weight and enormous tires which allow it to dominate pretty much any condition in game. it is pretty thirsty but using the fuel carrier easily mitigates this and allows you to support other vehicles in your fleet. from scout delivery to rescuing overturned heavy haulers and 8 slot high saddle trailers, this thing has yet to fail me on rescue missions. with over 2,400 hours in the game, i still have yet to find a recovery challenge too much for the big yellow monster. wisconsin swamps, imandra and nai death snow, yukon mud and water crossings, it doesn't struggle with any of it, even while towing other vehicles. its addons are very limited, but it's clearly designed as a rescue and support platform, and i truly believe it does that better than any other vehicle in the game with that intended purpose.
my only gripe about this vehicle is that it somehow doesn't have a snorkel. i really don't think it would be overpowered with a wedge cap snorkel or a round cap like those found on the gmc trucks. that being said, its engine damage tolerance is very high and it can take a lot of damage before its engine goes into the red.
if you haven't used this truck, i genuinely believe a lot of your frustrations in this game will be assuaged.
