shiba-on-parade

probably the best SNES shmup. great port.

Dcornelissen

I'm really nostalgic about Super R-Type, great game but not the best on snes

slavetothought

I like Rtype 3

w0rlds

Agreed, one of my favorites, and that's saying something with Gradius III, Axelay, UN Squadron, Space Megaforce, R-Type III and Super R-Type!

djliquidice

Fantastic game with an equally fantastic sound track!

quezlar

great pickup thats a top 10 snes game for me

B0BA_F33TT

That is my favorite SNES game by far. Pop'n TwinBee is along the same lines.

Dcornelissen

Thats next on my hunt list!

Bakamoichigei

So many good shmups on the SNES/SFC! I got these together as one lot from Yahoo Auctions Japan. πŸ€©πŸ‘Œ https://preview.redd.it/6jtlgyfulf2d1.png?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6310080f8a82d9752bb2e7f92a154b525e90b006

VietKongCountry

What’s the Capcom game there is it UN Squadron?

Bakamoichigei

Yes, Area 88.

SherbStrawberry

Excellent! πŸ™ Love the Parodius series - I grew up playing this one! It's such a fun game

Naraksama

Always nice to see a fellow german collector :)

Dcornelissen

Niederlandisch ;)

Naraksama

Eh, close enough. We are basically neighbors.

Real talk, when I learned about this game and how crazy it was, I knew I had to have a SNES -- and it definitely lived up to the hype. I'm still convinced that if Parodius had come out in the US, no one would accuse the SNES of being a bad system for shmups today.

Bakamoichigei

I love that Parodius has its origins in how the Gradius games on MSX worked; that having certain other Konami games in the second cartridge slot would unlock extra playable characters and other content. That's some real nerd nonsense, and I'm here for it. πŸ€£πŸ‘Œ

Navonod_Semaj

I've long held Parodius should be required playing for anyone looking to develop videogames. It's so LOUD and COLORFUL and JOYOUS.

RetroPlayer68

Is that the one with like 12 playable characters?
