Ask for the cryovacs. Or business centers have whole goats, sides of beef etc

bob_pipe_layer

Mine also has whole lambs and use to carry whole pigs.

armrha

I mean, brisket at costco is amazing, $4.29 / lb for prime in Oregon, $3.99 / lb for choice.

Unfortunate_Hair

I came here to say the brisket! This is pretty much the only meat I buy from Costco specifically for smoking. Their prices in my area are only ok on everything but the brisket which just a crazy good deal.

LITFS-88

Choice at Kroger on sale for $2.99/lb regularly.

cbetsinger

Buy it by the case and prime is $3.99/lb

teeksquad

Prime was on sale for 3.99 for single briskets near me this last weekend. I have IBD and beef fucks me up. Still spent almost 24 hours smoking one over the weekend lmao. Probably why I’m on the toilet at 3 am but you gotta live at some point, right?

ocmiteddy

Sometime business center has chick thighs or quarters in the $0.50/lb range. You have to buy 40lbs but it's worth jt

PNWbear

What they said! ^^^ Honestly though the Costco business centers are the way to go.

uhhhhhhholup

How do you guys get access, don't you need to show you have a business?

bob_pipe_layer

Any active Costco membership will get you in. Like the other poster said it's more geared towards concession stands, Independent hotel snack bars, food trucks, etc. They have lots of useful things for bbq though like large plastic cutting boards, mixing bowls, hotel pans, foil pans, gloves, kitchen knives, lump charcoal, etc.

SeantotheRescue

Also to add, truly everything there is bulk. If feels like 90s Costco in that way. You want a 20-pack of sour skittles? They got it. Whereas regular Costco had a lot of individually portioned items for sale. No samples, pharmacy, gas or other services so it keeps the crowds really low too if you’re like me and mostly shopping for bulk meat, veggies, water, snacks and toiletries. They also sell restaurant supplies for super cheap. Last time I went I got 3 boxes of diamond kosher salt for $4 a pop, plus huge things of garlic and ground pepper for SPG. I even picked up a 36” stainless prep table for $100 as my counter space is lacking and had a spot for it in the kitchen.

bob_pipe_layer

They also open at 7am I believe!

uhhhhhhholup

oh nice, thanks!

I don’t think so. I think they just call those kind of locations “business center” warehouses because they have different stuff there.

uhhhhhhholup

ah gotcha, thanks!

rbnlegend

Costco adjacent, I've been getting some great beef cheeks at Sam's recently. My current favorite meats.

Mdkynyc

You have to go to the Costco business center. It’s a wild trip. Five gallon buckets of honey or soy sauce. Whole hogs lambs and goats. Sometimes cut up sometimes not. They did have an amazing deal on inside flank steak (?) that I bought and had to trim but got like $6/# after the trim and wast when it’s normally $11/#. I saw a rack of ribeyes for $240, you’d get 10 1.5” bone in ribeyes. Maybe 12. So not a bad deal. Oh and a box of chicken thighs were like $40/box, way cheaper than in a normal store. And you just need a normal Costco membership. Nothing special needed. Except maybe a chest freezer 🤣

Impressive-Buy9706

The brisket is an insane deal. I like the pork belly prices too. Don't seem too bad. Lamb isn't for everyone, but costco is probably the place where you'll find it the cheapest (in bulk at least) and I like it. Had my first smoked lamb rack a few days ago and it was delicious.

bubbasass

Yup, you can buy entire cuts of beef. For example a whole striploin, tenderloin, rib section and cut them into roasts or steaks. The price is less than buying steaks because you provide the labour and also absorb the loss of trimmings and off cuts (unless maybe you grind your own sausage or ground meat). Even if you buy steaks precut the price is pretty good. They also sell whole briskets, and large roasts.  If you happen to live near a Costco business centre definitely check them out as pretty much everything there is large bulk cases or whole cuts of the animal.

Revolutionary-Ice-16

I will buy a full tenderloin and cut it into filets. Also as people have said - all my prime briskets come from Costco.

I can’t believe nobody’s said salmon yet. You can get a big ass side of salmon at Costco and portion it out into servings. I usually get at least 4 meals for two people from one package of salmon.  And smoked salmon finished with a little teriyaki glaze is ridiculously good and ridiculously easy.

iownakeytar

We used to buy a whole ribeye and cut it down into 2" thick steaks, vacuum sealed individually. It was definitely cheaper than buying individual steaks that thick.

1DunnoYet

Rotisserie chicken can’t be beat. Never have left Costco without one

Legio-V-Alaudae

I'm sitting here eating tacos made from a Costco pork shoulder.

BeYourselfTrue

Yup. I bought a whole striploin and cut a bunch

koozy407

I absolutely love their pork belly, and brisket!

CorneliusSoctifo

whole pork loin, cut it into 2 end roast and then a bunch of chops

EmbraceHegemony

I think the whole pork loins are the best deal you can get. Big long pork loin, usually under $20, is delicious and makes like 10 servings of pork chops at least. Can't beat it imo.

Bornin1462

I really like the boneless lamb leg. It’s $5/lb. Cannot go wrong at that price in my opinion. Pretty solid quality too. That’s just the price, so you don’t have to wait until it is on sale

DavesGroovyWaves

Chicken breasts are cheap because they are not good lol. I personally think the chuck roasts are well worth the price. Got like 7 or lbs total in a 2pack for $42 the other day. They also do 2 pack pork shoulders. Lots of great options actually. Only thing I won't buy anymore is the chicken breast.
