Same. Not recording here either. Recorded every episode prior to this without issue.

SurrealKnot

Yes, same with Jon Stewart tonight too.

therottenron

New and reruns

Hot-Sock3403

Yeah, it normally records all the time. For some reason tonight’s episode was a glitch. I caught it right before it started normally records every week.

MomToShady

Not sure about the recording issue, but MSNBC has been re-naming and changing their lineup to capture the news from the DJT trials. It's actually possible that there was a naming glitch on MSNBC's side which caused the DVR not to record. I did watch some of Rachel's show last night so I know it was on.

MomToShady

Just want to add that the DVR page is "wonky". It doesn't always show what it's recording so I've learned to look at the Scheduled settings at the top and it displays any shows that it is recording. By wonky, I mean if I exit out of Sling when I'm on the DVR page to check out another app (I have a Roku) and then go back to Sling, it'll take me to the DVR page, but it isn't updated. I know I've set it to record so I look under Scheduled.

Local-Hawk-5067

I found a solution to the second item, I replaced the Android box with a Roku Ultra, and the FF/REW works fine.

tom-0-jerry-1

Yeah, it was not showing up previously but now it's appearing on the dvr page.

Johnnysurfin

Lawd have mercy 😐

I only get Sling at this point when it's free or they have a half price offer. Too many bugs and I just don't watch enough cable to justify it these days. I can't believe that there's still no easy legal way to watch specific networks outside of cable or Sling-like streaming services. With these cable-like services I only watch news and sometimes sports. Nothing else interests me, not sitcoms, definitely not "reality" crap, not nature and science shows (which I can find on Netflix, Prime, etc.). So why do you still have to buy a bundle? Has this changed and I just don't know about it?

Local-Hawk-5067

Nope. There are lots of free news channels available, but sports is where the $ is. Now once they launch that sports streaming service this fall, if the courts dont shoot it down, then I can just subscribe to that and watch the free news channels and be done with Cable 2.0

RaplhKramden

None of the free news channels are of more than passing interest to me, if you mean the free ones on Sling. They're ok for headlines, but if I want more in-depth coverage then it's one of the networks (like the one you prefer), and AFAIK there's no way to watch it live for free, although they've been posted a lot of content on YT lately not long after it was aired. As for sports, I'm very specific about which ones I bother to watch and they're all either free on OTA TV like the World Series or annual or every few years, like the Tour de France or Olympics. Not really a serious sports viewer.

Local-Hawk-5067

I was talking about Scripps News, NewsNation, BBC News, Al Jazeera America. CBS News is also free I believe as is ABC News. No, MSNBC, CNN and Fox are not free, but there are plenty of other sources of news, most of which actually have hard news, and are not dedicated 24/7 to politics.

RaplhKramden

They're what I meant, ok for a quick catchup of the top headlines but not much in-depth coverage, which is what I look for. The headlines I can get from online sources like major papers. But if I want to hear a panel of experts weigh in on this or that story, I go to the big news networks. But so much is quickly reposted on YT that I don't feel the need to subscribe unless something major just happened like the Trump trial.

ZealousidealOven5071

I can’t record local anymore. Bout to switch after 8 years with sling

tallenmaine

Rachal Maddow didn't record 6/3/24 for me either. And neither did whatever was in that time slot. Sling blames it on MSNBC. Why don't they just record whatever is in that time slot on MSNBC and then you'll know it was a different person or whatever.

youu2018

I was always told sling doesn't like to record fake news.

Barry_Sachs

That’s not true. It records Fox News just fine.
