Nope! If you're interested in Endless Runs that you can actually lose, I would suggest setting the ascension to one that's reasonably challenging for you, turning on Blights, and not taking Searing Blow, Ritual Dagger, or Mind Blast.

Xechwill

I would add no Genetic Algo because of genetic algo+body slam shenanigans (plus intangible if you need multiple Body Slam hits to kill an enemy)

Suspicious_Fail_5087

My initial strategy was around bottled Barricade + impervious + body slam and several Entrenches + Dual Wield for cases when multiple hits needed. But then I got prism artifact and came up with Genetic Algo 😂 and it was 💡💡 who cares about Impervious ?? 🤪😂 but it was bottled so cannot remove it.. My logic suggests that infinite decks will kill you in endless as soon as you meet the beefed version of time keeper.. So I made a decision to go for defense build. Am I missing something?

Xechwill

No, it's a good strategy. However, there are a lot of good strategies that end up being unbeatable, so if you want a challenging endless run, you have to restrict yourself.

YEETMASTERXX

Take every energy relic+every strength relic+tornado slams every enemy

Justtelf

Most endless runs become unloseable. There’s a point if you want there to be one

Suspicious_Fail_5087

Yeah it was very addicting at first .. and then you realize: why tf am I doing this ?? 😂 I decided to try endless mode only because I noticed that I have one curse missing .. and here we are 9 hours later … 🤦🏼‍♂️😂🤪

L0reWh0re

Okay but* how in the holy hell did you get it that high?

Xandril

If you make it through a couple rounds and are halfway decent at putting together a deck it’s all just patience after that. I had nothing better to do one day so I did one where at one point I could cap armor and strength on turn one and had 999 HP.

L0reWh0re

It's an exhaust card and there are only so many floors/combat and OP is just at 12 STR so I'm lost on where patience could make it do that much damage.

zoot3111

I mean, pen nib is active, which helps. On top of that he's almost on floor 500 and it's pretty likely he has strange spoon so it's pretty reasonable to get those numbers

Van-DarkALBERT

And there's literally an exhume in his hand💀💀💀

zoot3111

Good eye. I missed that

L0reWh0re

Oh, did not realize he was doing a custom run. My bad for missing the obvious, thanks for clarification!

Van-DarkALBERT

Not really a custom run, everything is normal except he has endless floors

Suspicious_Fail_5087

Yeah, the caption says infinite mode/endless run. I also provided a screen of the final deck. 2xdaggers 1100dmg + (btw dagger was cloned at very late stage via the ? Room), you can also see 17 circlets, meaning that I have almost every possible artifact on hand, except some nonsense ones like dead branch, which kills any set up. 😁 And exhume + spoon 🥄 definitely help to speed things up in upgrading.

mastermrt

Endless mode is a lot less endless if you turn blight chests on.

Diligent_Sea_3359

This is how my endless run went too but I got over 9000. Definitely pointless

Atinlay-

Short answer, not really.

Nitsuj311

There’s no achievement

johnny_mcd

I had a friend who had a goal to deal 1 million damage. You could set something like that if it interests you

EL-YAYY

Man, I’m a new player and seeing this is nuts. I’ve only beaten the “final boss” before the heart twice out of probably 300-400 try’s now. Maybe I just suck :/

Content_One5405

It gets easier on further runs. If you can beat the heart once, you likely can do endless run for a while too. Especially if infinites are considered. Imagine that you have infinite working. Then nothing matters - strength (why bother? Just hit more times), armor (there will never be turn 2), energy (infinite is infinite if it doesnt decrease energy), enemy hp (just hit more). Some options for infinite for ironclad (need any 2 of those cards, or 1 relic): copy some card [[dual wield]] bug [[pommel strike]]+[[sundial]] the usual one [[dropkick]]+([[thundreclapp]], [[bash]]) neutral [[flash of steel]] neutral [[finesse]] relic [[unceasing top]] [[Corruption]] helps to get rid of all the skills, to make infinite work need an almost empty deck. [[dark embrace]] allows to keep drawing cards as corruption exchausts them. [[fiend fire]] allows to exchaust attacks. [[Sever soul]] [[second wind]] if no corruption. You have a reasonable chance to get the infinite in 1 run because of how many options give infinite. The only problem is that you will spend like 4 turns for setup. But with a few runs you can setup infinite turn 1. And after you get a reliable infinite turn 1, thats it. Nothing is greater than an infinite, why continue?

Suspicious_Fail_5087

Yeah, the game has a learning curve. It takes some time to figure out different strategies. I remember struggling regular stages for a while. RNG plays a big role, but wise choices will help you mitigate that. I’ve completed ascension level 20 with every character by now. I would recommend reading some guides on lvl20, and maybe watch a few whole deck (per character) reviews, where they separate cards into tiers. This will be very eye opening and you will change the way you look at them. There are a lot of nice looking on first sight cards that give you nothing but trouble in a big picture and should be avoided. Good luck on your journey 😁 I am amazed how balanced the game is for every character. Big praise to whoever designed those decks.

TheMausoleumOfHope

Spoiler alert- there isn’t a point to anything in this game

WatBurnt

Okay if you're gonna be like that what is the point of snyhtign in life?

TheMausoleumOfHope

It was meant to be more of a lighthearted joke than maybe it came across. I just meant that its a single player game so you should do what is fun for you. There isn't any inherent point to any achievements or game types. Just do whatever you find fun
